Just passed level 9 so I have only level 10 and therefore just 3 more weeks of Danish school to go! Thank god, I am so over it now! I can't wait to have more time on my hands to do something else - like finally enjoy being a SAHM.
But there is a lot of pressure here to get kids into childcare ASAP and for me to be in the workforce - I feel it from all circles - family, acquaintances etc. It is because everyone has their kids in by 12 months. I just think its too early for Alex - but I am meeting a lot of resistance. The idea is the child experiences the social aspect - meeting other kids, learning to share and be part of a group. I hope that by being with him and taking him to playgroups, the playground - he can be with other kids. I also plan to make one or two more (kids) myself. The thing is, I just think he's too young to go to school!!! Once he's there, then its big school until he's 17, then its uni then its work. I want him to have some time at home with his mumma I guess.
Sorry that was a bit of a vent wasn't it? I don't think my sisters have had the same pressure in Australia, so it is a cultural difference i think.
DH says I am CEO of Al's childcare, so whatever I think, he supports, but I also believe he is getting the same pressure from his family and friends about it too.
phew
Hayseed - how are you after the weigh in?
Brooke - good to know Maya isn't starving hey! Far out! You expect more from professionals. Yes they are cuties - even when the drawers are emptied and the mobile phone is being pounded against the fridge and they are wriggling away with a dirty nappy and bottom and feet and they are up and down in their beds etc etc its all forgotten and they are, bottom line......Cuties.
Vanita- jeez when do you sleep? Wow you are a supermum!!!! And good that you don't have any probs getting Dion to eat LOL!
Bel - cute idea with the dragon cake with the red flame candle! he will love it.
Hope you all have a great weekend. We have a long weekend here and there is a Carnival and sunshine forecast...so hopefully we will be out a fair bit.
