Brooke, Pup definately stood up holding onto something. He is far too wobbly to do it on his own. In fact, he can only stand holding on (by himself) about 4 times out of 10. And nup, Pup is not a particularly snuggly baby either. Now that he is able to move under his own steam, he wriggles and twists to be down on the floor. Sometimes I just give him big huge cuddles to tease him !!!! :smt016
Kate, WTG at the Mattel outlet. Where is it? I know of the big factory on the ring road. I had no idea about the ticket business tho. God, I wish I knew someone who was selling them. Mind you, it is 2.5 hours for us to get to Melb, so for just an hours shopping, that is a bit of a hassle. But the bargains....I can easily see how you could spend so much as a lot of that stuff is coded for kids ages, so you could easily buy in advance for birthdays, christmases etc.,..
Deb, sorry NFI about what to eat to enlarge your head. Me thinks that DH's diet should have been restricted when he was a baby then!! He has a BIG head!!!
What bought me to BB? Well, after having my 5th failed pg and 3 gos on IVF, I went to Nick Lolatgis for a second opnion. My cousin has been to him and now has 2 kids. Anyway, after my visit, it turned out that I was pg (my 6th...it failed too) anyway and when I rang Nick to tell him, he sent me a whole lot of stuff in the mail for hospital admissions etc, and in the info pack was a card advertising BB. I dunno what made me actually get online and look it up, but I guess that I figured that I had got as much info from other areas, I might as well check this one out. I had no idea what it was really about, and like you all, have found huge support for my TTC journey, pg and now baby rearing! I can't imagine now not having this outlet in my life.
Anyway, I said I would fill you all in on the BF situation...well, the midday feed has become an absolute nightmare feed. Pup is squealing, crying, wriggling, hugely distracted, has started biting all the time, only sucks for about 1 minute on each side. It just cr@ps me out. I was convinced that he wasn't getting that much anyway, so I rang my MCHN and explained the situation. I told her how it was near impossible for me to feed him outside of the house at this time (ie. in a mothers room in a shopping centre) as he will not concentrate. It was stressing me out and becoming quite unpleasant. She said to just drop it. I was concerned that my milk supply would fall away fpor the night feed (about 7.30pm) wihtout stimulation during the day (I would thus be going from about 8am through to 7.30pm) but she said she believed that by now my body should be able to cope with the stretched out feeds and still provvide him with ample. I was also surprised that she said that I don't need to now provide a milk drink top supplement that midday feed (ie formula) as he is probably gettign enough milky stuff as it is apart from the bbob feeds(yep, he is. He gets whole milk on his cereal and when I "water" down food such as pumpkin, I always use milk. Also, I use the milk straight out of the vat - norty, I know, but we drink it too - so it is pretty high in fat).
So after the phone call to her, I had resolved to cut out the midday feed............until when it came time to not give the feed. And I couldn't do it!!!! I actually gave him a later boob feed (about 2pm) and he actually drank better. Go figure. But I will be cutting that feed out, and I always intended to anyway when he was 10 months (because of needing to really get into the TTC #2 thing). I think this midday feed is more for my welfare than his!!
