Jess- Welcome home! I am so glad things are going well for ethan. Best of wishes for a speedy recovery.

Jan - I have had AF for ages I am hoping that it doesnt take us long to conceive, but I am a little worried that it might. I don;t know why... I conceived Lachlan a few months after my m/c and conceived the first bubba one month aftr going off the pill. I think I'm pretty fertile, but I guess its really just a case of luck - or good timing I am looking forward to actually TTC, unless we have problems. I have already started trying to chart my cycle, and trying to decipher what evrything means.... I am so new to it all.
    lol

Amm - sorry to hear of DF's happenings of late. Enjoy the show tonight

Sara - Thanks. I try to be a funny bugger, but sometimes I worry I get taken the wrong way.... lol

Sacha - Would be pretty darn awesome if a few of us could manage to get preggers with #2 around the same time! I am really looking forward to the never ending m/s that I had for 9 months, and the unbeleivably painful pelvis I suffered.. LOL I sometimes wonder why I want to put myself through that again, but it's cos I loved being preggers and the overall outcome is just unreal. I can't wait!!!

Megan - Looks like some of us have some great fashion sense We are going to have to arm ourselves with big sticks to beat of the adoring female fans of our spunky boys when they get older... say about....4 years of age. pmsl.

Jas - We call the dog Ralph, because when we first gave it to Lach, he spewed(ralphed) all over it. LOL Yes, I am strange. lol

Lach's fully BF. I know that he's def getting enough. He's just an active kid. or maybe I need to replace active, with PSYCHO! LOL
Anyway, last night, he finally got up on his hands and knees. Wasn't for long, then he fell back down on his tum tum. I am hoping that it takes him a while to crawl....
It's not like I can take my eyes off him at the moment anyway. He rolls and commandos everywhere, adn gets everything he wants, and everything I don't want him to have. LOL He's so cheeky too. He loves helping ( I use that term VERY loosely) me fold up washing. I fold it, and he unfolds it and throws it around. It's a game that I never win. LOL

anyways, I am going to have to save my washing off the line... its blowing a gale outside... not that I am complaining. At least it isnt 40 degrees here for once.

Hi to those people I have missed. Hope you are all giong well

    xxoo Nicky

Hi girls - just checking in to see if there was an update from Jess - which there was! Yay to Ethan being home and yay to the smile. Tom's smiles still melt my heart now, so i can imagine how you feel. Hope things are improving with your DH - maybe he is really overwhealmed by everything and that's what he is being a bit of poo head. My DH tends to go into shutdown mode if he is worried about something.

Thanks for everyone who asked about Tom - he is much better so i think his meds have kicked back in. Will try to be back tomorrow for more info. I am going to head off now and have a bath with a glass of wine and the new Who mag to catch up on all my trashy goss. Night everyone!

Hi all just a quick one from me,
What is the go with rusks? I gave Kaetlyn one tonight, and she chewed on it, and then was crawling around with it in her hand and was getting soggy and starting to break off, so I took it off her. She seemed to like it, but I though it might be a bit to much for her little stomach. I have no idea?

Jess, great to hear you're home and well. I think you should do the pest control too, I know your story has definitely kicked my a$$ into gear and we are getting our house done. We originally did a DYI job but we didn't include the roof space so I'm getting the professionals in this time to do it all properly. Anyway, hope you get lots more smiles in the days to come - babies are so resilient.

Sara, I let Autie eat the bits if she manages to get them off, though more often than not, she drops it before it gets to that stage. It's the only wheat she has but I figure it's such a small amount, I don't worry.

Hi everyone else. Sorry too tired tonight for long posts, but I am keeping up with you all.

    Hi Ladies,
Jess, so glad to hear that Ethan is recovering well. I hope you have many more smiles coming your way.

Wow you ladies can talk. I find it soooooo hard to keep up. I barely have time to go to the loo atm with DH away.

Jack had his professional photos done today. He was so cute, I can't wait to see what they look like. We managed to get some of him and Charlize before she had enough. So fingers crossedI they got some goodies.

I'm curious to know how much everyones babies eat in one sitting. Jack eats more than his sister, and I don't know if I should give him so much. He has 5-6 tablespoons of veges, 1 tablespoon of meat and 1 tablespoon of fruit at night, but he still wants more. The last time I saw the MCHN, she told me to feed him until he is content, but most times he always wants more, but I'm reluctant to give him more. I'm already giving him more than a pamplet I have from Heinz says for a 7-9 month old. The rest of his day goes something like this - For breakfast, he has 1 piece of toast cut into 3 strips with either vegemite or promite, and about 3 tablespoons of rice cereal with 1 tablespoon of fruit. He has yoghurt or custard for lunch with some more fruit and a bread stick. He snacks on cruskits and rusks in between. He is also still having 5 BF's a day. Does this sound like alot? Or normal? It's hard to know, as Charlize has never been a normal eater, she is so fussy. What do you all think? Should I give him as much as he wants or still to a certain amount? What have you been told?

Sorry for the selfish post tonight girls, but I'm so tired, I'm having troubles keeping my eyes open. I can't wait until DH is back, only 4 more sleeps.

    Good night all.

    Hi everyone

Jess - like I said in your other thread, great to hear that Ethan is recovering well. I agree with the other girls about getting the pest control people in. We were overrun with ****roaches for a while here and after a professional treatment their numbers are greatly diminished. So I think that pest control is a great investment. (I found a giant huntsman spider in my car the other day, so am thinking of giving them a call to see if they treat cars...)

Mel - from what you say it does sound like Jack eats a lot, lol. Diana has about 5-6 breastfeeds a day (I think, I don't actually count them). She has 2-3 meals of solids - about 1-3 tablespoons at each sitting (depending on how hungry she is). For solids she has pureed fruit, veges, meat and/or grains.

Nicky - I am one of the "oldies" here too. Please stay with us. I know what you mean about comments on Lach's size. People are always commenting on how long Diana is and its driving me insane as she is well within the growth chart range.

AMM - enjoy the show and hope everything is okay with your DH.

Jas - I have to echo everyone and say that you have one gorgeous boy.

Hi to everyone else. Have a great weekend.

Mel- I think that is alot. I was looking at the info that I got at mothers group the other day, and it says NOTHING about how much we should be feeding. Kaetlyn is on two meals per day, and each is 2 table spoons of fruit or vege.
I do remember reading that babies do not yet have the ability to work out when they are full- that function of their brain is still not developed. I will read more on it tonight- I have a great book a dietitian gave me from work.
What could also be happening is Jack is eating as much as he is given, and is happy, so his stomach will stretch to fit it all in (some babies will chuck it back up- Kaetlyn does if she has had to much). As adults the same thing happens. ie large people tend to eat larger amounts. sorry. Their bodies have become 'aclimatised' to eating these large amounts. I hope this helps, let me know if you want more info.
Although in saying all this, he has always been a big boy. How much does he weigh now?

Also a tip for babies with constipation- take out rice cereal all together- as it is fortified with iron, and Iron supplements quite often cause constipation!

Okay will am going to bed, trying to get an early one again! LOL last night I got to sleep about 2, the night before it was 3!

I have just ironed the clothes for the wedding tomorrow, and hehehe I have matched DH's clothes with Kaetlyns dress- he is wearing a purple shirt! I couldnt match him with me- I am wearing black top and grey pants. LOL it would look more like we are going to a funeral!

    Night night all!

    Morning all!

I have an exciting weekend of cleaning the house getting ready to put it on the market and a tuppaware party...definately getting old!!

Jess - so glad to hear things are looking up, you and ethan are both troopers!

Mel - i never know how much is too much either! I generally just fill Lucas' little bowl (no idea how many tablespoons) and only offer dessert after one meal either lunch or dinner, no idea why thats just what i do! I have a feeling he can't regulate when he is full, so i just decide for him! He seems to get grumpy at some point when he is eating but he will still open his mouth for more, i tend to take the grumpiness as an "i have had enough sign"! It does sound like Jack has alot but i dont know if it really matters at this stage. For your sake i cant wait till your DH is back!!

Nicky - look out world when these spunks are 18 and on the prowl....he he!!

August - to tell you the truth i dont love the name David but it was quite sentimental for us as its both of our Dad's middle names and my Pa's name! Both my Pa and DH's dad passed away before Lucas was born so i'm glad he has a small part of them!!

Em - glad Tom is better!! When i read your post this morning about the wine and bath i was spewing i didnt think of that last night!!

Rusks....Lucas LOVES them, he gets so excited and makes so much MESS! I just let him eat whatever of it he gets in!

Oh i remembered i am going out to dinner tonight at the docklands with all my girlfriends and husbands, CHILDFREE....cant wait, although DH and i are still having an interesting debate over who is driving!!

First of all - YEY! autie just went to sleep on her own with me lying on the bed and pretending to go to sleep myself (and I almost did) That's a big deal for us, though I know normal for many of you.

Mel, It does kind of sound a lot. Autie has about 3 cubes worth at 3 meals (vege or veg and meat at lunch) plus snacking on pieces of melon or broccoli occasionally and BF probably 6-8 times in 24hrs. Most times she will eat it all, though if she's tired she will clench her fists and growl at me to stop. They are all different but the stomach is the size of a fist generally (their own) and they say that even adults should eat that small amount, but more often. How active is he?

Nicky, I can't wait for number two either but then sometimes I look at SIL who has 15m old and another on the way, and she's tired and sick and trying to deal with a daughter who's cranky and doesn't understand mum feels like crap and I think 'maybe i should wait just a little bit longer!"

Megan, have a great night, I'm so jealous.

August, how was your night out?

I gave in and took Autie to the doc yesterday to get some cortisone cream for her eczema. She was scratching so much she was making herself bleed He was a nice chinese man and looked at Autie's rolls and said 'oh, so many skin fold. that look funny hey? you have those? no? I never see before little rolly. hahaha look amusing' LOL He cracked me up. I can't deny it, she does have caterpillar arms but it was funny to see him so amused by it.

    Hi all!!!
Just popping in quck before we head off. Our first time away from daddy... adn its 5 days, so it's going to be weird.

Mel - To me, that sounds alot of food young jack is eating. But you have been feeding him for a while right?? We are in week 4, having 3 solids meals a day ( at Lach's request lol), and each of them is quite large, approx 4 tablespoons worth. But If I don't give him that much, he isnt happy. Lach is only a bit over 7kgs, so he's not a big bubba, but now that these young boys are moving around alot, they really do require quite a bit of food don't they? Lach is still having at least 5 BF's a day... sometimes more, due to his teething. I actually read somewhere, that BF babies ARE able to regulate how much food they take in. But I guess just go with what you think is right. Mum's are always right when it comes to their own kiddies

Hi Rebecca! Hope work's not wearing you out too much.

ANyway, I have to go. Gotta meet my mum in 45 mins, and it takes me an hour to get to her house!
Have a great weekend, and next week. Speak to you all thrusday or friday

    xxoo Nicky and Lach.

Thanks ladies for you thoughts about the amount of food.

Jack has been on solids for about 3 months now. And he is 10kg too, and moving around heaps. He does laps in his walker around the house, so from what you have all said how much your babies are eating and how much they weigh, I'm thinking it's not too much. He is just a big active boy, who needs his food

Well all i can say is thank god yesterday is over! We didn't end up getting home till about 2 am and silly me had enjoyed numerous ****tails and wines!! In the morning Lucas' cereal made me dry reach (sorry TMI!) and i had to run to the loo! Felt like i was 18 again...very tragic! Anyway i had a tuppaware party in the afternoon and can you believe i got breath tested on the way! Have never been so scared my heart was racing....plus i was in DH's work ute with the ladder hanging out the back, looked so classy! So to cut a long story short......not drinking for a long, long time!!! TOO OLD!!

    Good morning girls,

Megan you crack me up!! lol I can't remember the last time I had a hangover, but I don't miss them!! Hope you're feeling better today.

Well we bought a boat last week, haven't been out on it yet because we don't have a licence Think DF is going to get his this week though. We bought Oliver a little life jacket ($90!!!!!!!!!!) but of course well worth it. It is one of the ones that flip them straight onto their backs, touch wood!! He will only come on the boat when we go in the river though - wouldn't take him out to sea. Actually I won't even be going out to sea, I get sea sickness!!!

It was really hot here on the weekend, got up to 42!! I spent most of the day alternating between the air-con and the pool. Oliver still isn't that keen on the pool. I bought him his own little floaty thing to sit in with a shade cover but he screams when I put him in it. He is fine if one of us holds him really close. I really should look into swimming lessons for him. Lexxen goes so next time we are there I think I will ask all about it.

Still no teeth here but I can see 3 of them. His cheeks are really rosy as well so maybe they will cut through soon. The reflux is a lot better now. I think cutting out the yoghurt has helped too. Poor little thing is trying so hard to crawl but can't quite get his knees up. He ends up going backwards and is getting very frustrated by it all!

We are going to one of my best friends engagement party this weekend. It is formal so we (actually I - DF hates the idea of it) have had a lot of fun picking out clothes. I actually bought my dress off ebay for $16.90 brand new!!! I was a bit worried that it might not fit cause silly me didn't realise it was only a size 8 until after I won but luckily it is stretchy so it fits quite well. I have lost 17 kilos since I gave birth Another positive of breastfeeding!!! It is really beautiful - a black grecian style ****tail dress. I took DF shopping yesterday and scored some great bargains for him too. He's going to look very spunky!!!

Anyways, hope everyone is well. I'm off to do some major cleaning while Oliver is asleep, the house gets so messy on the weekends when the boys are home.

    Take care everyone.

    Raels and Oliver. xo
