    Hello,

I thought I would join this little club too!!

Josie Amelia Lily was born Monday 23 June 2008...she seems to be good at keeping up a routine and at the moment sleeps through for a good six hours at least during the night. I'm doing a lot better at parenting so far than I thought I would, and my hubby has been fantastic too

    Hi ladies,

Brock was born Monday 23rd June 2.11pm. 1 week 3 days early. 7 pound 13 ounces 49cm. Was a long labour with shoulder distocia and prolonged 2nd stage that resulted in a ventouse delivery so it was all a bit traumatic for bubs, mum and dad alike.

He ended up in the special care nursery due to an infection and jaundice and we finally got home on Saturday night. We had a lot of trouble getting him to attach to the breast after he got sick as he was so drowsy from the antibiotics and had to be woken for feeds. I have not been able to get him to attach to the breast since leaving hospital so am pumping (supposed to do it 4 hourly but am struggling with that) and topping him up with formula.

He's sleeping well but is waking at 3 or 4 hour intervals. He's a really quiet baby and mostly easy to work out what's wrong with him. Have had him in the bed in the middle of the night a couple of times when he just wouldn't settle.

He had a chucky day yesterday. Had to change him 3 times before DF had even woken up, but he managed to keep his food down for the rest of the day.

He seems quite alert today, just lying in his cradle with his eyes open and not crying. Hope he stays that way.

    Hi Mummies

Cooper Axl was born on the 20 June! A big bubba boy weighing in at 4.356kg, 53cm long and one gorgeous 37cm head full of brown hair! Considering he was 10 days overbaked he came out perfect! He is a hell of a feeder (my nipples paid for it in the first few days when he was only get col) and sleeps like a champ!

Bit funny how much time before birth was spent online and now i can barely find 10 minutes to type an annoucement.. birth story will have to wait! Congrats on a successful homebirth Eustacia! Byron is such a beautiful big bubba!

Hugs, Kisses and Dribbles to all new mummies!

I love the name you picked out Tan. It's so true about struggling to find time to post on here now. Think things will be pretty quiet in here for a while yet.

    Eustacia: what a gorgeous pic!!!!!!!

Tan: Good to see a familiar name in here.

    Everyone else HI!!

Taylor Elise was born on 22 June (one day before a scheduled Induction phew) at 8.51am after a 10 and a half hour labour. Unfortunately I dont think the labour needed to be that long and was very disappointed in my midwife giving me an epi at 9cm (I wasnt even screaming I was so politely asking to please make the pain go away - she could have told me to push or something rather then give an epi) and then leave me 2.5 hours at 10 cm without breaking my water or encouraging me to push when I felt pressure resulting in a last minute forcep delivery. My window of opportunity past me by without me even knowing there was such a thing.

Taylor sleeps through the night but at the moment is grizzly during the day and not sleeping at all unless I hold her. I found a white noise track on the internet that I might try tomorrow so i can get her to have a snooze while I do some cleaning.

We have had our ups and downs with bfing and due to forceps/epi she wasnt swollowing effectively and I ended up with bruised blistered nasty looking nipples but we are settling now and getting much more efficient. Although I couldnt help myself and we give her one formula feed at night. I intend to swap that for ebm but getting the time to express and expressing more then 30 mls at a time are proving to be a task.

Anyway before I write an epic I better go and start dinner with my wriggly bum baby in sling.

Hope everyone is well and busy I am sure!!!

    Hi mums and bubs

My beautiful little girl Nakita Lily Robyn was born on th 30th June at 10:37pm, so we just sneak into this group! She was 6 weeks 4 days early, I was expecting to be in the August bubs!!

We are still in hospital, I am a border, I transferred from the Women's and Children's on Saturday with Nakita, omg she looks so tiny in the car seat, we went by cab with a MW and DH. We are now at the Private hospital where I had hoped to deliver, but she was too early.

Waters broke at 8:00pm driving home from yoga - how convenient, contractions started 40 min later, after numberous phone calls between me, obs and hospitals, we went to WCH, got there at 9:30, sent straight to delivery, she was born 1 hour later. Total 2.5 hour labour. Am planning to write a birth story, while I am in here!

She was 2.35kg, down to 2.17 atm, 45.5cm, 34.5 head circ.

Am pumping every 3 hours, last expression 90ml, but it varies, and it is hard work!! A constant 3 hour cycle of feeding, expressing (both bbs at once), eating, sleeping, I express extra so I can take the 3 am feed off, and she still gets EBM. She is now up to 50ml every 3 hours. She sleeps very well, v limited awake time each day, gets tired very easily, but she is learning to BF, using a nipple shield, last night a good 20 min latch and this morning 40 min!! It will be a lot easier when she is bfing more than once a day.

Most feeds are through a gavage tube and take about 40min atm.

We hope to be on 4 hourly feeds in few days, then she needs to be sucking well before we can go home.

Hope to get to know you all!!

    Will do some personals later!!
