Happy birthday Tori (for yesterday!) Awesome job of the cake too Ali.

Jess - good to hear from you. Fantastic news about your clients, hope you continue to get many more. I don't know where you find the time.

Bath - can't see your picture, says you need password. Its intriguing me what flavour it was now!!!

Tali - how did your lemon meringue pie go? Fantastic news about the job. Nice to have a choice of two. I'm sure he'll choose the right one. I can't make it to either meet up unfortunately. I am going down to my GF's holiday house on Sunday and staying overnight and I work on Friday's. Sounds like they will be fun and hopefully you will have some Junie back up!

Amanda - good luck tomorrow, let us know it all goes.

Rory - glad you are enjoying your new job. Love the no guilt policy!!! Well done and I bet DH is doing a great job.

Ang - sorry I don't have any advice for you (wish I did!!!). I was very lazy when moving Chelsea to a bed, I left it until she was over 2 1/2 and didn't have any issues with her getting out. I think she understood a bit better. I plan to do the same thing with Marley and wait until Christmas time. Good luck with it though.

Maya - sounds like Oscar had a great birthday. Love the FB pics of him with his big trike!!! Grandparents are allowed to go overboard in the present stakes, it's their job to spoil their grandkids lol!!! The sink photos are priceless, how does he get in there?

Marley had a fun night on Saturday, we only had family over and one friend. The kids had plenty of fun and they really enjoyed my icecream echidna cake. I've put some birthday snaps on Facebook.

Whoops! Sorry Mel... fixed the "private" setting to "public". It should be ok now. I just saw your photo of Chelsea and Marley entitled "sisterly love!" adorable! I'll have to go back and check out more!

Bath- hows his Bum this morning hope it doesnt burn to much come out the other end lol but if it does maybe it will be the last time he takes mum's chocolate LOL

Nope I wont move with BHL's job he will just fly in and out of Melb the funny thing is when he got home last night he got a phone call from a guy he used to work with telling him of another job that is going in Mackay 4 days on 4 days off so he is going to go for that one too and see what happens as this one is better pay than the other two and you only work 6 mths of a year as its even time...

I feel so slack now after hearing about all the birthday partys poor little Kai didnt really get one maybe next year when she will remember it... That and I hope to know more people for her to actully have one....

Well we got a "report " for Zayden in form of a letter as he hasnt been at this school long enough and it was reallly bad!!!! I know it shouldnt come as a shock as the teacher does want him tested for ADD but he makes out Zayden is a little ***** well maybe he is in class I know he's not that bad at home or maybe he is a " Bad " kid and I just dont see it...here is a little of what the teacher has said...

Zayden has also demonstrated a tendency to disregard or challenge aurthority. He regularly breaks classroom rules and when a consequence is given he responds negatively by continuing to push boundaries, by refusing to do what he is told or by saying ' No'

Arrrrr I so dont know what to do ....

Tali, as frustrating as it must be for a teacher, Zayden is doing what we want him to do as an adult, and that is, not doing what other people want us to do just because they say to do it. By saying 'no', he is trying out a little power assertion of his own! I know, not helpful when you want him to go to school and be taught. There must be a way to harness his little independent spirit? I'm convinced that 'traditional' schooling techniques don't suit some kids and those kids are probably ones that would otherwise be classified as having ADD or ADHD. Montessori and Steiner systems may be better suited to him? They're not so big on having children comply with orders and teachers are more flexible with independent learning styles. Just my own thoughts on it.
It's funny, we all want our kids to grow up as adults who take sh*t from no-one, to question 'authority' and have their own opinions, yet we train them as youngsters for exactly the opposite! I often wonder if Oscar will be receiving this type of report card when he's in school...unless I can find a Montessori school for him (common as muck in Ireland and rare as hens teeth in Victoria!).
I guess a lot of us are starting to think about kinder? I haven't really been, but everyone keeps asking and I just shrug my shoulders! I mean, if I have to repeat any units then Oscar will be in uni childcare for a bit longer and they have a pre-school room there, so he can come in with me. Bit more expensive than normal kinder (though, not the kinder I would prefer to send him to), but it would suit him and save me on driving around on top of uni. There's a Montessori pre-school in Mt Evelyn and one in ****atoo, and I'm weighing up the travel costs (time, fuel and money) for both. It's too hard! Shrugging shoulders again...

Thanks Maya I know it must be hard for him always having to move so I am guess he is just trying to see how far he can push.... But like you said thats just not aloud in school they all are ment to be the same and the minute that arent doing what everyone else is they want them on meds....I always thought he was such a little follower that I am quite surprised he has some inderpendent thoughts...

As for Kindy I have filled out all Kai's paper work for Casey so I am hoping she gets the same kindy that May is at as its nice and handy for us as we get to walk there and its next to the school.. If I was you I would enrole anyway as you can always tell them no if you dont need it, but to get spots at last min is really hard... So put his name to all the kindys you are even thinking about maybe putting him in that way YOU get to chose which Kindy he goes to and not the system iykwim...

    Happt beldated birthday Tori!
sorry i have been MIA the days just flash by me and i dont ever seem to get through half of what i want to.
Amanda- how did your check up go?
Bath- LOL cheeky Niall, cheeky boy

birthdays, ok get out my trusty bday book lets see!!...... Alexandra (CeeCee) i think her bday was the end of the month but not sure on dates (maybe 29th) and Lucas (Tanya) last June bub was born on the 4th of July!

About 5 nights ago i took Nixon's dummy away. he's had mixed emotions about it! we seem to have a good night, and then a not so good night. i kind of feel like a slack mum, i found them all, showed him they were going away and he kissed them bye bye. he tells ppl his "ummys went bye bye"
It helps that Ty doesnt have one so he is no longer seeing them around the house.
Got about 3 more weeks till we move and have SOOOOO much to pack..... dh hasnt packed a thing as yet, to his defence he has been doing heaps at the house there after work and on w/e's but i just cannot wait to get in i feel like i am a single mum atm.
Tali- i wish the school would just let him settle in a bit, it must be very hard for him to adjust, other kids already have their friends, their routines and Zayden is still trying to find his spot.....

kinder.... In Sydney we call it pre-school and they start when they are 3yrs. i went to one at our new local area last week and had a look and put his name down. Nixon already felt right at home and went and sat in the circle with the other kids and started singing lol!
boys are quiet, that could be anything!! better go

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Tori, she had a nice family BBQ on the weekend, but has been sick since she woke up Sunday morning- so not had such a great week. She is starting to refuse her day sleeps, but it sooooooo over tired by about 4pm that I just dont know what to do with her.
Liam is sick too with a runny nose, and I think he might have more teeth coming so not such a happy household atm.
My nephew who is 3 weeks younger than Liam got admitted to the children's hospital last night with a Staph infection, poor little man is quite sick covered in rashes and all his skin is peeling off. He will be in there untill at least the weekend and is on some pretty strong meds.

Tali- I would strongly suggest making an appointment with the schooling and going in and asking what strategies they are going to use with your DS, it is not good enough for them just to say that he is disruptive etc, without offering some ways to support him- ask if there are some skills/ strategies that you can use at home that might help him with his behaviour at school.

Kids in WA can't start kindy untill they are 4, so Tori wont be going untill 2010, which is a bit of a bummer because I think she will be more than ready to go, there are some private 3 yo kindies but she wont be able to start untill June and it is only once a week for couple of hours. I am contemplating putting her in Daycare one day a week next year because she really craves that socialisation and stimulation.

I hope everyone is keeping well, I am heading off to bed as I am totally exhausted!
