Hey girls, must be the season for illness. The boys and DH just got over a good dose of gastro, now DH has something called arterial fibrillation - basically his heart races to 220 beats per minute and upwards while he is just sitting there. He spent Saturday night at the Royal Melbourne and now we are just trying to organise a cardiologist appointment. Bummer is it increases the chance of heart attack and stroke - lucky he is such a skinny ba$tard!

Better go - I am feeling under the weather too One good thing about DH feeling unwell though - the house stays real clean cause all he and the boys can do at the moment is watch DVDs

Other than that life is good - job is fun and pays nicely.....

and Bath I LOVE my avatar!!

Oh Rory!!! I hope Mick is ok! I had a bit of that (didn't get to 220 though... got to about 140) last summer when my thyroid problem was at it's worst. Just sitting watching TV my heart-rate would speed up until i felt like I'd just done a jog around the block! Poor guy! It's sooo tiring! I wonder if it's due to a thyroid imbalance as well? I got very skinny (for me) as well as your metabolism speeds up too. I guess he has been put on beta blockers? They really helped me but make sure he doesn't stop them too suddenly. Let us know how he goes! And pass on my sympathy!

Thanks Maya... I know I should have been "seen to" but by the time the ambo would have got here the worst was over and I would have felt silly... we have cover so that would be no issue. If it happens again I'll definitely pursue some tests. I kinda feel though that I've been up at that emergency ward so many times recently with one thing or another... my mother (a nurse) used to accuse me of being a hypochondriac and I guess i fear people making the same accusation I've been up there 3 times in the past 4 months.

gastro: I think Niall may have a touch of it. Very loose nappies, mild temp, one spew. He's happy enough and active today... but has a very sore butt with a nasty rash that I'm smothering with Sudocrem.

Wade at his long day of Kinder... got two avvy's to work on when Niall has his nap... if he has a nap!

    Hi to everyone!

Rory - poor kiddies and DH! Hope they get better soon. Hopefully DH can get in to see a specialist soon and get it sorted out. Saw the awesome treehouse for Flynn on FB, he is one talented man! Your new av looks hot!! Well done Bath.

Maya - hope you guys are on the mend too. You can make up weekend school another time? Your health is more important. You are so right that Marley is no wallflower, she is certainly not going to get pushed around by anyone LOL!!!

Bath - how damn scary for you. Don't ever feel like a hypercondriac, you should trust your instincts when it comes to your health. Music therapy is amazing, they do a bit of it at work. If I can find any literature about it, I will forward it to you. In fact one of my postgrad students is a music therapy teacher at an autistic school and they get some fantastic results. Sounds like a wonderful career path to pursue. Hope Niall's nappy rash clears up, must be so painful.

Nic - oh no, how annoying! I have lost my purse a few times and it is so upsetting. And to have to get new cards again. Most times people rife through it, take money, then dump it in a bin. How is your niece doing? How scary for you mum but she sounds like she handled it really well. How disappointing that no one came to help, its a sad society we live in sometimes. Years ago I am sure that wouldn't have happened.

Amanda - my DH did the same thing, far cheaper to pull it out!!!! Hope your BP behaves itself and stays back in the normal range. Have you put wedding pics up yet? Bet you looked super glamorous!

Tali - oh great, I have another 8 years of it LOL!!!! How was Baw Baw? Is DH liking Melb any better? Shame you moved in winter, at least with summer you could have eased into the cold. It takes some getting used to, even if you've lived her your whole life!

The school disco was a hit! Chelsea had a great time, but I think Marley had an even better time. DH and I were both chatting and I looked around and couldn't see Marley anywhere. Started to panic, then looked up and she was on the stage!!! Dancing up a storm with some other kids, it was hilarious. Then she spent the rest of the afternoon just wandering the dance floor and joining in for a dance whenever she felt like it.

MIL took her to get her head xray today and she laid perfectly still. I thought it would have been really tricky to get her to stay still but she did great. Need to follow up with the paed in a week but hopefully he is right and nothing to worry about.

Need some help - Chelsea has book week activities this week and her first dress up day. She needs to go as a book character. Any brilliant ideas? I am not sure what to do. She wanted Cinderella but it might be a bit chilly for that. Bath and Amanda, I am sure you have done heaps of dress up days?

Just quickly - GFIL passed away today, which is good, it was tormenting him. Getting slowly better.
Forgot to say, Bath - I love the career path plans. One of my booby club girls was doing that before doing the Grad Dip Psych...turns out we're doing the same course by Off Campus mode! Anyway, she loved it.
    Gotta go, kid demanding me...

Thinking of you and your DP Maya. I hope his funeral is a bonding and positive celebration too, as is often the way when a much loved person passes.

    Just briefly too...

Mel: Once Book Week fell in winter when Verity was in grade 2. She went as Lucy from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. meant she had to wear a fur coat over the top of some "English style clothes": a tartan skirt, stockings, shirt and cardigan, hair in plaits. She won the prize with it too! She was the only Lucy... there was about 50 Hermiones!!! Don't send Chelsea as Hermione from Harry Potter is all I can say! LOL I'll see if I can post a photo of Verity in her outfit in my gallery... i'll let you know when it's up. I'd offer to lend you the fur coat but it would probably be too big. Op shops can be good for them though.

better... get Niall out of the pantry!!! (His natural habitat!)
