Well I just had to come in here and tell you guys that BHL got a JOB

yippy it means of course that he is back to been away but as I have explained in other post thats what suits us lol

But of course is it rains it poors just when he found out that he got the WA job he also got a call from another job he went for in Qld asking him to do a medical as if he pass's they want him to work for them... Its always the way isn't he said he will go for the medical and see what happens from there... I guess it will come down to how will pay more as with both jobs he has to pay his own way to WA of Townsville ( but they are soon bring in Brisbane flights )

just had to let someone know at least it will mean we can start to save again!!!

That sounds like great news for you Tali Does this mean you won't be with us in Melbourne for long? Sorry I missed the full story...

Well my June Baby has been up to no good. This afternoon he found and ATE my chocolate!!!! There is a photo HERE. I had to laugh or else I would have cried... I've been looking forward to it all day... it was ear-marked for about 9pm tonight after the boys were in bed Note the flavour... no wonder it was his coughing that alerted me!

Happy birthday Tori (for yesterday!) Awesome job of the cake too Ali.

Jess - good to hear from you. Fantastic news about your clients, hope you continue to get many more. I don't know where you find the time.

Bath - can't see your picture, says you need password. Its intriguing me what flavour it was now!!!

Tali - how did your lemon meringue pie go? Fantastic news about the job. Nice to have a choice of two. I'm sure he'll choose the right one. I can't make it to either meet up unfortunately. I am going down to my GF's holiday house on Sunday and staying overnight and I work on Friday's. Sounds like they will be fun and hopefully you will have some Junie back up!

Amanda - good luck tomorrow, let us know it all goes.

Rory - glad you are enjoying your new job. Love the no guilt policy!!! Well done and I bet DH is doing a great job.

Ang - sorry I don't have any advice for you (wish I did!!!). I was very lazy when moving Chelsea to a bed, I left it until she was over 2 1/2 and didn't have any issues with her getting out. I think she understood a bit better. I plan to do the same thing with Marley and wait until Christmas time. Good luck with it though.

Maya - sounds like Oscar had a great birthday. Love the FB pics of him with his big trike!!! Grandparents are allowed to go overboard in the present stakes, it's their job to spoil their grandkids lol!!! The sink photos are priceless, how does he get in there?

Marley had a fun night on Saturday, we only had family over and one friend. The kids had plenty of fun and they really enjoyed my icecream echidna cake. I've put some birthday snaps on Facebook.

Whoops! Sorry Mel... fixed the "private" setting to "public". It should be ok now. I just saw your photo of Chelsea and Marley entitled "sisterly love!" adorable! I'll have to go back and check out more!

Bath- hows his Bum this morning hope it doesnt burn to much come out the other end lol but if it does maybe it will be the last time he takes mum's chocolate LOL

Nope I wont move with BHL's job he will just fly in and out of Melb the funny thing is when he got home last night he got a phone call from a guy he used to work with telling him of another job that is going in Mackay 4 days on 4 days off so he is going to go for that one too and see what happens as this one is better pay than the other two and you only work 6 mths of a year as its even time...

I feel so slack now after hearing about all the birthday partys poor little Kai didnt really get one maybe next year when she will remember it... That and I hope to know more people for her to actully have one....

Well we got a "report " for Zayden in form of a letter as he hasnt been at this school long enough and it was reallly bad!!!! I know it shouldnt come as a shock as the teacher does want him tested for ADD but he makes out Zayden is a little ***** well maybe he is in class I know he's not that bad at home or maybe he is a " Bad " kid and I just dont see it...here is a little of what the teacher has said...

Zayden has also demonstrated a tendency to disregard or challenge aurthority. He regularly breaks classroom rules and when a consequence is given he responds negatively by continuing to push boundaries, by refusing to do what he is told or by saying ' No'

Arrrrr I so dont know what to do ....

Tali, as frustrating as it must be for a teacher, Zayden is doing what we want him to do as an adult, and that is, not doing what other people want us to do just because they say to do it. By saying 'no', he is trying out a little power assertion of his own! I know, not helpful when you want him to go to school and be taught. There must be a way to harness his little independent spirit? I'm convinced that 'traditional' schooling techniques don't suit some kids and those kids are probably ones that would otherwise be classified as having ADD or ADHD. Montessori and Steiner systems may be better suited to him? They're not so big on having children comply with orders and teachers are more flexible with independent learning styles. Just my own thoughts on it.
It's funny, we all want our kids to grow up as adults who take sh*t from no-one, to question 'authority' and have their own opinions, yet we train them as youngsters for exactly the opposite! I often wonder if Oscar will be receiving this type of report card when he's in school...unless I can find a Montessori school for him (common as muck in Ireland and rare as hens teeth in Victoria!).
I guess a lot of us are starting to think about kinder? I haven't really been, but everyone keeps asking and I just shrug my shoulders! I mean, if I have to repeat any units then Oscar will be in uni childcare for a bit longer and they have a pre-school room there, so he can come in with me. Bit more expensive than normal kinder (though, not the kinder I would prefer to send him to), but it would suit him and save me on driving around on top of uni. There's a Montessori pre-school in Mt Evelyn and one in ****atoo, and I'm weighing up the travel costs (time, fuel and money) for both. It's too hard! Shrugging shoulders again...

Thanks Maya I know it must be hard for him always having to move so I am guess he is just trying to see how far he can push.... But like you said thats just not aloud in school they all are ment to be the same and the minute that arent doing what everyone else is they want them on meds....I always thought he was such a little follower that I am quite surprised he has some inderpendent thoughts...

As for Kindy I have filled out all Kai's paper work for Casey so I am hoping she gets the same kindy that May is at as its nice and handy for us as we get to walk there and its next to the school.. If I was you I would enrole anyway as you can always tell them no if you dont need it, but to get spots at last min is really hard... So put his name to all the kindys you are even thinking about maybe putting him in that way YOU get to chose which Kindy he goes to and not the system iykwim...

    Happt beldated birthday Tori!
sorry i have been MIA the days just flash by me and i dont ever seem to get through half of what i want to.
Amanda- how did your check up go?
Bath- LOL cheeky Niall, cheeky boy

birthdays, ok get out my trusty bday book lets see!!...... Alexandra (CeeCee) i think her bday was the end of the month but not sure on dates (maybe 29th) and Lucas (Tanya) last June bub was born on the 4th of July!

About 5 nights ago i took Nixon's dummy away. he's had mixed emotions about it! we seem to have a good night, and then a not so good night. i kind of feel like a slack mum, i found them all, showed him they were going away and he kissed them bye bye. he tells ppl his "ummys went bye bye"
It helps that Ty doesnt have one so he is no longer seeing them around the house.
Got about 3 more weeks till we move and have SOOOOO much to pack..... dh hasnt packed a thing as yet, to his defence he has been doing heaps at the house there after work and on w/e's but i just cannot wait to get in i feel like i am a single mum atm.
Tali- i wish the school would just let him settle in a bit, it must be very hard for him to adjust, other kids already have their friends, their routines and Zayden is still trying to find his spot.....

kinder.... In Sydney we call it pre-school and they start when they are 3yrs. i went to one at our new local area last week and had a look and put his name down. Nixon already felt right at home and went and sat in the circle with the other kids and started singing lol!
boys are quiet, that could be anything!! better go

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Tori, she had a nice family BBQ on the weekend, but has been sick since she woke up Sunday morning- so not had such a great week. She is starting to refuse her day sleeps, but it sooooooo over tired by about 4pm that I just dont know what to do with her.
Liam is sick too with a runny nose, and I think he might have more teeth coming so not such a happy household atm.
My nephew who is 3 weeks younger than Liam got admitted to the children's hospital last night with a Staph infection, poor little man is quite sick covered in rashes and all his skin is peeling off. He will be in there untill at least the weekend and is on some pretty strong meds.

Tali- I would strongly suggest making an appointment with the schooling and going in and asking what strategies they are going to use with your DS, it is not good enough for them just to say that he is disruptive etc, without offering some ways to support him- ask if there are some skills/ strategies that you can use at home that might help him with his behaviour at school.

Kids in WA can't start kindy untill they are 4, so Tori wont be going untill 2010, which is a bit of a bummer because I think she will be more than ready to go, there are some private 3 yo kindies but she wont be able to start untill June and it is only once a week for couple of hours. I am contemplating putting her in Daycare one day a week next year because she really craves that socialisation and stimulation.

I hope everyone is keeping well, I am heading off to bed as I am totally exhausted!

Thanks Bath and Mel for the advice. So far at least he is starting the night off in his bed so that is a good sign. Half the time he climbs into our bed, in between both of us and under the sheets without us even realising until we wake up the next morning with this warm, snoring little man next to us!

Ali, hope your nephew gets better poor thing. I was also thinking about 3 yr old kindy for Alex but wonder if I can be bothered with it for only half a year. May consider daycare instead for one day next year, will see how I go.

Regarding kindy etc for our June kiddies: I have Niall on a list for our local co-op children's centre for 2009. It has daycare and pre-school options should I feel that Niall would benefit. He probably will... even just for a day each week. Hopefully by the time he is 3.5 (2010) we'll be able to afford to put him into an Early Learning Centre that offers fulltime (9am - 3pm Mon - Fri) classes for 3 - 4 year olds like Verity used to attend. THEN I might be able to consider either returning to study or work.

Thanks all for you kind word about Zayden I know I should even be bothering you all with stuff about him as this about our junies after all and not ment to be about my "oldies"

My sister came over today for a school sports day and Kai started to call her " dumb dumb" lol as she was playing a game with kai and singing a silly tune with kind of sounded like dumb dumb so now that what kai was calling her all day I wounder if Kai will remember when we see her next...

    Tali-
Zayden is a part of our group as well, because he is a part of your family and we love hearing about all our Junies families. I mean look at me, I mention what is happening with all my kids!

That reminds me, Pat has been really annoying lately. Crying at the drop of a hat!He is really driving me crazy.
    There he goes again...BBL

Tali - pls don't think that, as Jess said, he is still part of the group too. All the Junie's kids are part of the group and I know I like to hear how they are all doing. Chelsea usually appears in my posts, so don't think anymore about it. Hopefully things will start to improve with Zayden once he feels more "settled in" and finds some good friends.

Nic - how is Nixon doing without his dummy? I took Chelsea's away about 2 1/2. Told her it was going to my friends baby as he needed it more! Marley is obsessed with hers, she hides them around the house so when I take one off her she just goes and gets another from her stash!!!! You must be getting so excited about moving and having your DH back. I've been watching for more photos of the house, it looks like it's coming along nicely.

Ali - how is your little nephew? Hopefully on the improve (and your kids too). Don't know what advice to give about days sleeps. Chelsea still had a day nap when she was 4! Had to wean her off them before she started school. Marley will still have one though. It makes life hard when you don't get that bit of quiet time.

Feels so weird to be thinking of kinder. Marley will do the kinder program at her day care centre the same as Chelsea did.

Life has been rather hectic for me lately. Work has been frantic with end of semester results etc, so I haven't had much time for the computer (unfortunately!). Things have quietened down now.

Kids are great. Chelsea is on school holidays and I took her and her friends to see Kung Fu Panda today, great movie. Then out to lunch. Tomorrow she is going with MIL to see Disney on Ice. Marley is starting to really chat now, most words are still a bit hard to understand but she knows what she is saying. We are getting to that frustrating age where they want to tell you something and you have no idea what it is. Then the tantrum, foot stamping, head shaking business starts. Ahh the joys of toddlerdom!

    Hi Junie ladies

Tali – Hope Zay gets some good support from his school and definitely talk about him in here – he is part of the Junie family so we all want to hear about him too (not forgetting Miss May as well). This is the only thread I really talk in so I talk about Osc and the new one here too. Congrats on your DH being offered lots of jobs! At least he will be able to pick and chose whats best for him and you.

Bath – booo at Niall eating your choccy! I would be devastated! He must learn for later life that a woman and her chocolate must never be separated or he will be in big trouble! Hehehehe.

Nic – hows life without dummy for Nixon? Will has chewed all but one of his dummies to bits and I keep saying to him that once that one is chewed there will be no more but am very nervous as he is so addicted to it at bedtimes/in the car/when he’s tired. I think ill end up weakening and going and buying him more which I really don’t want to do. Good luck with the move, how exciting (and tiring at the same time though)

Ali – hope your boys are better now too, along with your nephew poor little chappy.

Ang – how funny he can sneak into bed with you and you don’t notice – he must be very stealthy! Oscar comes into us some morning but he’s as subtle as a brick so there’s no way we could sleep through his arrival.

Mel – glad life has calmed down abit for you now. Oh those tanties…. Lovely! Will has started putting his forehead on the floor and bum in the air if he doesn’t get his own way which just looks so funny we end up laughing at him, bless him. Chelsea sounds like she’s having a ball in her holidays, going to the cinema and Disney. Loved the echidna cake you did – looked fantastic.

Amanda & Jaspen – how are you going? Not long for you now Jaspen!

Dee – How’s your new home in the new country going?

Rory – Glad you are enjoying your new job.

Hope all your bubs had great birthdays. Will’s was good – seems ages ago as it was on the 9th – I had written about it in my last post but ? of it disappeared! Only downer is that the boys caught the horrible chest bug from a girl at Will’s party, Osc was ill for 4 days (and he’s hardly ever ill) and Will took ages to get better, had a temp for 5 days straight then an ear infection to boot. I caught it too along with James’ cold which he caught home from work (thanks!) and still haven’t shaken them! I have a gp/ob appt tomorrow so I will get him to check me out as most nights when I lie down I cough until I’m sick (not to mention should be buying shares in Tena lady products! At least I’ll have fab pelvic floors at the end of it!).

James Is away at a conference in Italy and I have been dreading being on my own at this stage for ages. My backs sore but the boys have been so good for me that I can’t really complain, although I can’t wait for him to get home on Sunday. I have to stop being bitter and twisted that he is getting to fly business and the conference takes place in the most amazing looking resort style hotel in the mountains, and he absolutely loves his subject/job so its hardly like working anyway!

All going well with the pregnancy so far. I have finally had the appointment with the ob at my local hospital and he seemed very nice. If I go into labour naturally they will let me have a little go but if I don’t progress very quickly then it will be off to theatre for a 3rd c/s. I don’t really mind this as he explained that as its only a regional hospital if anything went wrong (only small chance I know but don’t want to risk it) it would take around an hour to get everything/body ready and that could be too late for me and bub. So we have a date of 19th August which I will have a c/s on if she’s not here already. I am so pleased about the level of care that they offer in this small public hospital – they have already said that I will get my own midwife so bubs will stay with me the whole time except for getting weighed (about 5 mins) and then will come with me into recovery where I can do the skin-on-skin and feed her without any delay which is just fab! I had the boys privately and they weren’t ever brought into recovery so I always felt I missed out on the first hour or so of their lives, so to be able to have my little girl with me all the time will be just so good. This will definitely be our last as I am having clips put on my tubes while they are in there!!

I have started washing and sorting a few things, the bassinet is ready and all the bedding and second hand clothes I have been given have been washed but I’m still to scared to take the labels off and wash all the new stuff I’v bought yet – anyone remember how far along they were when they did that?

I don’t seem to get much time to post anymore, I come on for a nosey quite regularly but after quickly reading through what everyones been up to I usually have to go to bed, as the boys wouldn’t let me ‘surf’ in the day.

The boys are being great as ive mentioned. Oscar is such a sweety and so sensitive, when he sees me hobbling with my back then sitting down he comes over and gives me a rub and a cuddle – he’s going to make someone a great hubby one day! Will’s speech still amazes me, full on sentences! He’s so much more advanced than Oscar was (which is good as this is the only milestone that Will has been early with!). Most people are quite shocked when they hear him speak as he looks so young as he’s so short – 83cm last time I measured him a few months back. He’s doing great at his swimming lesson and last week was the only one of the class who would jump of the mat onto the noodle so I was very proud – even he knew he’d done really well as he was grinning ear to ear when he did it. I think it’s because he knew what to do from watching Oscar do it in his lessons.

We changed cars a few weeks ago to one that can fit 3 child seats across the middle. It’s an ex-rep car so abit tatty but its only 3 years old so should be good for a few years. Shame its already broke! The glass bit of the boot can be opened so you don’t have to open the whole boot except that now it wont shut at all so whenever I leave the car its open – someone could just lift the glass door up and climb in that way! Of course it happened the day James went away so ill have to wait until he gets back until I can get it fixed. The bugger being is that I can’t open the whole boot while the glass bit isn’t shut so the pram is stuck inside the car! I don’t really need it much these days as Will walks everywhere but I wanted it tomorrow for my ob appointment so I could put the toddler seat on and know they are both strapped in and not be able to trash the drs office while I talk to him! Never mind.

Anyway, I’ve typed this in word to be on the safe side so I guess all my punctuation will turn to ? again! I’d better get this posted so I can get to bed as it’s way late.

    Take care

    Julie x

Well it has been yet another long stint since I've had a chance to write in here. Have managed to read occassionaly but life is flat out.

I was thinking of our Junies during their special month though so happy belated brithday to all our Junie bubs and from what I read most had an enjoyable 2nd birthday.

Tali - I hope you can get the support for yourself and Zay to find out whether its a moving thing or just something noones ever bothered to discuss with you before now.

Mel - I so hear you about the frustration tantrums - Sam does the same thing. i always say he has the patience of his father at the best of time let alone adding in two yr old frustrations.

Bath - loved the photo of Niall and love your latest ticker photo - the boys look so alike.

Nic - hope your enjoying your new house soon. I sympathise with the removal of dummies - we've done it with Samuel and it hasn't been too bad other than him requiring me to lie down for a few minutes for a daytime sleep instead of putting himself to sleep. Must say at this stage of pregnancy I'm not complaining - don't know how it will go with the new little man in the picture in a few weeks.

Maya - uni over for the semester??? sounds like Oscar certainly loves daycare these days. Had a quick look at your gallery photos and he is so grown up now - love his hair!! Wish Samuel and retained some curl/body in his but as expected the first cut saw the end of that.

Amanda - hows your tummy going???? Hope your new little man is being kind to you.

Julie - not long til you meet your little princess now. Don't you just love when DHs are jetting off around the place enjoying life - not!!! I'm up for my 3rd c/sect as well so understand.

Ang - good to see you around again. Samuel's like Oscar - couldn't sneek in like Alex if he tried (plus our bed is too high so he can't get up anyway).

Mel - I've got a 4 yr old asking to go see Kungfu Panda - may have to pass it over as a DH job I think otherwise he's just going to have to put up with my leftover Tupperware Kungfu stock.

Just gotta go change a nappy will BBL to finish off this post.

    ETA

Dee - how is Indonesia going??? sounds like you are enjoying it all but taking a while to get used to the help - take it while you've got it hun LOL!!!!! We have friends who were over there for three years - she has had trouble settling back into Australia cause she got so used to the help (and the fact it gave her kids built in company) and the expat social life.

Jess - hope Pat gets over the whinges real fast and that school holidays aren't too hectic.

Rory - it sounds like your new job is just what you were looking for. DH is still enjoying be SAHD??? Mine often wishes he could but the monetary balance wouldn't work real well (plus I really don't think anything else would get done around the place LOL)

Anyway with only 3.5wks to go I'm sort of getting round to doing the things we tended to do at 23 wks with our first not much else going on except the day to day stuff which seems to take up all my time these days. I'm putting it down to big fat slow pregnant woman LOL.

Hope everyone has a good day and hi to anyone I missed

    Hi girls,
my last day with a funky avatar My gifted sub runs out tomorrow and I thought about it long and hard and have decided, at this stage, not to renew my subscription, for a number of reasons I'll go through later. I am ever so grateful to my benefactor for giving me the opportunity to be a paid up member for the year and I thoroughly enjoyed my privileges. We're still in a no-paid-job household, though, and all spare money goes to paying childcare (yes, still need it because WHEN DP gets a job sometime through the semester it will be impossible to get a spot there, so I need to have him booked in and paying from the start of semester again) and activities fees (swimming and kindergym).
Jas - great to hear from you!
Tali - hope you get somewhere with the school and not just a fob-off.
Julie - good to read from you, too, it had been a while!
I don't really have time to go through the personals tonight, but I've been reading where everyone's at when I get a chance
I have been a bit all over the place IRL, with funerals, childcare, family gatherings and gearing up for next semester. I've been so frustrated and disappointed with myself with regards to catching up with my friends IRL - how does it get so that you have too many friends to catch up with, when you don't have a great pool of friends??? So, I've been weaning myself away from BB so that I can send proper messages to my friends...when I'm not keeping up with Oscar.
My week consists of hanging out with him and doing his stuff, keeping the house stocked with food (cooked and uncooked!), getting to uni to study, contacting family and friends and trying to find time to wind down with DP.
I've recently got back in contact with a dear, dear friend and we're both busy trying to tee up a catch up, meanwhile using email like demons!
I was at a funeral last week for a friend I'm barely in touch with anymore and I realised there were people he knows who didn't know what had happened - a bit more real life contact would have changed that.
Also, DP's grandfather is very ill and not going to get any better, so it's going to be interesting around here in the weeks (hopefully months) to come.
So, my dear, I guess I'm saying that my usual banter and contributions are going to change and be more like the sporadic posting I've been doing of late
My parents are down for the holidays and my sister's coming over, too, but I am fiddling with the dates to catch up with Melbourne girls - not looking good for the BB meets, I'm afraid, but I can see about other meet up arrangements!
I will definitely still be visiting, but my days of long musing posts are over for now.
Be back soon enough, though - been missing you all!
