    Hi girls!
wondering is anyone elses angels starting the tantrums yet?
Ashley has started this mega highpitched scream if i am ignoring her doing something!
And i am SOOOOOOOOO getting a barrier to stop her getting into the kitchen! i hope that that will stop her from opening every door and drawer and crackin it when i am trying to cook dinner... ie.. if she cant get in then she will loose interest in pulling at my leg and screaming (i used to give her little bits of food i was cutting but i am stopping that quick smart as i dont want it to be a habit!)

Any brissy girls going to the Baby expo tomorow?

PP - I have Caeleb's first "tantrum" on video on my mobile. I'll check to see how old he was... 2nd January, so about 6 months. It's actually quite cute, as he's not quite sure what he's doing. From memory, he wanted some of my soft serve from Maccas.

He's been doing the most adorable things lately. He's started to sign which is fabulous. He puts his hands, palms up and hand out to the side to do the "All gone" sign, which is super cute! He's also just learnt how to clap. I know, I know... all your little ones have been doing it for ages, but Caeleb has been doing kisses since he was 5 months old, so that makes up for his late clapping. LOL He's also doing the baby sign for finished. Tumb up and twist hand from side to side, which is handy on the potty. I'm hoping he'll start signing wees and poos soon too!

I've started back at the gym as of today. I'm need to drop those last few extra baby kilos. I hate the fact that I'm still grabbing for my maternity jeans because they're "comfy". I should be wearing tight uncomfortable jeans again by now!!!

Ha, Lewis started tantrums last week! He just squeals at the top of his voice in anger! We call them tanty's! But he also squeals in delight too which is far cuter

Today he has started standing up from sitting without pulling himself up on something if you know what I mean and then he will stand for a good 30 seconds. How long after they do that can they walk do you think? He has a week to go until he is one, I don't think he will be walking to blow out his candle though??!

Oh and I have a very bruised shoulder where he keeps biting me and when I tell him off he thinks it's a game

What a little smarty Caeleb is, signing, how cute! Lewis hasn't grasped the whole blowing kisses, I think he is very selective with his affection!

Hey my SIL has a 2 week old baby and he only likes sleeping in her arms, he screams and wakes up when she puts him down. Does anyone have any ideas how to get him to settle in the crib? I know he is still so new but she is getting zero sleep as he is so unsettled at night.

Anyway time for dinner, I can smell DH's bolognaise wafting through the lounge!

Ashley was standing at furniture - pulling up at 6 months and then walking along side it about 8 months- didnt walk properly on her own until 11 months.
So might be a little while to go yet

Well its offical - i have transitioned to cloth nappies!!!!!!! RRRRRRRRRRRRR

Oh gosh the tantys!!! Hehe..........yes well, DH and I would initially tell DD#1 to be gentle, give her baby sister space, give her baby sister her toy back, get off your baby sister, leave her alooooonnnnnnneeeeeeeee!!!........................... that is until we suddenly thought, hang a tick.............and we peered around the corner when DD#2 squealed and screamed to find that big sister was no where near her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so we've wised up pretty fast and are going to implement 'pen time' for the screams. We did 'cot time' with DD#1 and that worked by teaching her consequence for unacceptable behaviour..............so we're going to do pen time with DD#2, only for a minute or 2, just quick enough to teach her that yelling isn't a mummy favourite I know its simply because she is limited in her communication so she is getting frustrated.....oh and she likes attention...........oh and she would rather have what big sister has and doesn't understand the sharing concept yet either, hehehehe.........so we are also signing with her and its great coz DD#1 still remembers the signs so is helping with the teaching But good golly me!! We certainly have a fire cracker this time round, yeesh! Never a dull moment!

She likes to sit 'wig wam' too with her legs kicked out behind her so she now understands, "legs forward" and its so cute to watch her kick her legs around together. Oh and she is our vacuum cleaner finding all that we missed so now also understands, "open wide".......to fish out what ever she has found and deposited in her mouth, ai yai yai!!!

MumofLewis - congratulations on your little nephew!!!! Wow, not that long ago that was us hey?!?! My only thoughts to help get your SIL sleep is after checking for all that might be causing him to be unsettled: hunger, wind, dirty nappy, hot, cold etc and then wrap him tightly and pop him down. After 5 mins of crying, check again, have a mummy snuggle for only a minute and pop him down again. Seeing as he is so young, imo he needs to be guided in his new world, one of those things to learn is sleeping unassisted. Of course, there will be all other things to consider if he just doesn't settle for days and that's the silent reflux etc. DD#2 had reflux so I would prop her bassinet mattress up on an angle and then lay DD on her side slightly, not enough that she would roll forward though. If anything, she could only roll onto her back again. Oh the first few days/weeks are trying aren't they?!?! Oh I do remember getting desperate at one stage too and figured that DD loved me as I was toasty warm and hated the bassinet as it was so cold so I'd put a slightly warm wheat bag in there just before I laid her down, just so her sheet wasn't so cold. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, so certainly no magic formula there! All I can encourage is for your SIL to persist and be consistent so her little man learns his new rhythm.....but it could take days to a week or so but all the hard work will pay off!! And remember he is only 2 weeks old!! Anywhoooooooos, that's just what worked for me xx

PP - hows Ashley going with the biting thing?? Has she eased off??

Celsie - good luck with the gym stuff! Yay on you for being all motivated too!! Lol at "should be wearing tight uncomfortable jeans"....hahaha! Too funny!! Your little Caeleb is so clever! Oh and who cares when he does or doesn't do things!! Imo, bubbies seem to grow up faster and faster so drink in all that he does in his own time........he'll be hiding in his cupboards and climbing trees before you can bat an eye lid!!! Trust me

Okaleedokalee, time for sleepy head to crash now! Chat soon lovlies!!

Hope everyone else has a great and relaxing weekend......I'm going to try and encourage DD#2 that frog hopping on the tiles is not a brilliant idea - already had one face plant! It's like she wants to stand up but hasn't quite worked out the next step from legs straight, bot in the air and hands on the ground........hehe

    Happy Birthday Jackson!
    Happy Birthday Shayla!

Celsie - yay for Caeleb signing. How clever! When did you start teaching him that? I would love to teach Diana to sign. Do you know where I could get some info on how to do it? (Unfortunately my local library seems to have no books on it. Is there a website or something that you know of?) How is the potty training going? Diana is doing well. She still wees in the nappy, but most poos happen on the potty now.

Sarah - re you SIL - I would recommend babywearing. Does she have a sling? She can put bub in it, bub will settle and she can go about doing what she needs to do. Bub will learn to self settle in his own time. Diana would only settle in my arms and/or at the breast for about the first month and then she started sleeping on her own. IMO there is no point in trying to get babies to sleep on their own at such a young age. They are used to being with mum and have constantly been with her for 9 months. It takes a while for them to get used to being out in the world.

PP - Diana is usually very well behaved, but she does sometimes throw a tantrum, e.g. when you take away something that she wants to play with.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

Starfish - we've been trying to teach him to sign since he was about 3 months old. I guess around the same time that we started the EC training. A friend of mine let me borrow the Australian Baby Sign book. Maybe have a look on ebay for a second hand copy?

EC training is going well. He went a little backwards for a few weeks due to illness, but seems to be back on track. Now he's started signing, I'm hoping he'll start signing for wees and poos. We've started giving him nappy free time again (I know it's cold, but he wears babylegs) so he can feel what wees feel like again. And then, I'm hoping that he'll start signing when he's done wees. DH had him nappy free this evening, he did wees on his carpark/garage toy and on a big bag of dog biscuits that we'd just bought in from the shops!!! Too funny!!!

We had an awwwww.... cute moment this afternoon. We were doing our fruit and veg shopping. Caeleb always loves to suck on a green apple as we go around picking out what we want. So, as usual, we gave him his green apple. When we got the the register, we weighed one of the apples twice so we didn't have to take Caeleb's away from him. We tried that once before and he screamed the place down. Anyway, the girl was just about finished. Caeleb looked over, looked at what was going on, then placed his apple on the bench to be scanned. It was sooooooooooooooooo sweet. I grabbed his apple, waved it over the scales and said "beep". He was happy with that, grabbed it back off me and continued to suck on his apple. I've just got the most gorgeous little boy in the whole world!!!

Okay... it's 11:20pm and I'm still waiting for my bread and butter pudding to bake. I've never made it before, but got inspired whilst we were out shopping. DH said, don't make it tonight, you'll be up for hours. "Poo poo" I said... please don't tell him he was right!!!

Celsie - hope you had a great sleepin!! Did the pudding taste yummo?!?! So cute about the apple - little ones are so clever aren't they?!

Is it just me or has anyone else been reminiscing about what you were doing 12 months ago.....from your little ones birthday?? I am shaking my head at how fast the year has gone and how quickly my little bubby is becoming a true little girl, if that makes sense Right down to grabbing her big sisters hair brush this morning and attempting to brush her own hair, hehe.

Hi to all those that we haven't seen around for a little bit .........hope you are all doing great and having countless precious moments with your little munchkins!
