    Hi all,

Feels like ages since I was last on BB - been super busy for the past week with MIL and my parents visiting as Cam was christened today.

It all went well and my baby boy never put up a fuss ... even when extremely cold water was poured on his head. My family was very amused cos the priest said afterwards "He (Cam) did well (not to cry) cos that water was bl00dy cold!". Apparently the water is usually room temp, just not today!

I decided to make Cammie a christening cake rather than spend oodles on a flash cake. It was a basic white chocolate mud with white choc ganache icing, but I was pleased with how it came up, although I'm no star cake decorator! Will upload a pic or two on email when I get a spare five mins.

All well our end at the moment - we seem to be avoiding colds and flus. Will be pleased when MIL goes home tomorrow. I get on ok with her but my DH clashes with her. She's the type who can't tell you anything in under one minute iykwim ... every thing she says takes a five-minute long-winded explanation (the reason why DH can't tolerate her for long).

Reenie - glad to hear things are on the up-n-up on the cold and flu front.

Mel - how are you going? Even though thrush isn't terribly good news (... an understatement!), hopefully it's the answer to your questions.

CM - good on Flynn for holding his bottle - every day Cam discovers more about his hands, but he's not quite at the point of holding a bottle.

Luey - beautiful pix of Ethan. I typed a response via bigpond email to say as much ... then the damn computer packed it in (lost internet connection, acutally) and I lost the entire email. He's an adorable little boy!

Bec - fantastic news on your BM achievements. Won't be long and Jake will be booby feeding all the time! PCB expo was great ... we signed up for "swimming lessons", as my DH says. Will probably start in the next few weeks.

SG and Bec ... how was the Cats' big effort last night against Adelaide!! Hope the boys were in their navy and white stripes! I need a new Cats outfit for Cam ... he's virtually outgrown his 000 outfit. Good excuse to shop for him!

LauraB - welcome to our group! Hope you're going well with overcoming your PND.
Eli - welcome back and congrats on the birth of Seth ... glad to hear he's doing well.

Another two boys to add to the brood ... think that our only girls are Isabella and Seraya, is that right????

Must go, after 11pm and I'm buggered ... been a loooonnnng couple of days!

    Take care, Andie xx

    Thanks for your comments guys!
Melinda - I have been put on Zoloft about 2 months ago and also going to see a psychologist weekly.Although I am still having bad days every now and again, on the whole I am getting alot better. The hardest part atm is anxiety and trying to work out what is pnd and what is normal anxiety..it almost feels like retraining my brain.

On another note..how are your babies sleeping?do any sleep through yet?

    Hi all

Hi everyone I would like to join this little group too please. I have my boy Scout, born 24th March 2008. He is my fourth son, he has big brothers Corban 11, Kees (pronounced Case) 9 and Ardyn who is 6. So its almost like having just one baby again with him as the boys are at school all day its fantastic spending so much time together.

Scout was born 9 days late weighing in at a healthy 9lbs 9oz and a massive 59cms long. Yes I was incredibly uncomfortable as he looked like a baby giraffe. All arms and legs. He is a fantastic cruisy baby because to be honest with 3 brothers he doesnt have alot of choice. Lol
He is breastfed but does enjoy a bottle as well so Dad can feed him when I have had enough and also when he goes to sleepovers at Nannys house. I didnt have alot of success with breastfeeding my other boys so im enjoying it and have no immediate plans to give it up anytime soon.
Well thats a little about us and I will add photos when I work it out.

Hey, its all going really well thanks. I am very lucky with him but like I say he is the fourth so I guess I should know what I am doing by now aye. He is a really cruisey baby and I am very lucky to say he has been sleeping through since about five weeks.
We did get some very strange looks etc about his name, but we like unusual names and it suits him. Besides who cares what others think its what we think that matters aye?
How is everything with your little man? He is a little cutie. Are you enjoying being a Mum? Is he a good boy?

Yes you are lucky to have him sleep through!
Sam doesn't, the longest he has slept in a row was 6 hours.once.Usually he wakes once at about 1am and then at about 5am, then sleeps in until 9am.
He hardly cries,he didn't cry at all until 6 Weeks. So I am lucky in that respect and he is a lovely boy, full of smiles.

I do enjoy motherhood, it's so amazing watching him grow and learn new things. The past 3 months have flown by.

    Wow-4 Boys....must be a very loud house!!

I have a question..Is it normal for babies to not poo for days? He used to go everyday but the past few weeks it has been about every 4, sometimes more.

G'day there All-Boys and welcome to the thread ... most of us have been together since the early days of pregnancy, but I think you'll find we're a very welcoming bunch. Another boy! Hmmm, beginning to think there'll be a girl drought by the time our bubs are old enough to date and marry! Look forward to getting to know you. Out of interest, how long is little Scout now? 59cm at birth ... you did well !!!

Laurab - I've read it's normal for BF bubs not to poo for several days (think it can generally happen after six weeks). Not sure if Sam is BF or FF, but apparently BF bubs don't suffer constipation. Dunno if this info helps ... . As for sleeping through, Cam has been sleeping through since he was approx 7-8 weeks old. After his christening yesterday, with a dozen odd people around him most of the day (holding him, coo-ing and goo-ing to him etc), I thought he'd have a bad night's sleep, but it was quite the opposite. He slept from 10pm till 8am. Reckon I'm just a lucky mum .

Mel - speaking of sleeping, how's James' going? Any improvement? Got my fingers crossed things are looking up.

Question for those of you who have bubs teething and/or have "been there, done that" with other children ... what are the early signs of teething??? Lately Cammie has become a bit fussy on the boob - pulls off and/or only wants 10 mins or so (instead of usual 20). This happens at least one or two feeds a day, every second or third day. My MIL reckons she saw him rub his fingers backwards and forwards across his bottom gums (I haven't seen it ...). Plus he's been a bit unsettled around "witching hour" for the past week or so. I can't see or feel the beginnings of any teeth, but just wondered ...
Probably nothing but usual baby grumbles (... or maybe my normally placid baby is discovering there's more to life than sleeping and feeding !).

Catch you all later, Andie xx

    Hey thanks for the welcomes.
Scout is now a massive 66cm long. He is off the charts in length as you can imagine. The doctor had to measure him twice because he thought he got it wrong. He was 14lb at his last visit so he is pretty normal weight wise but still looks like that baby giraffe because he is all arms and legs. DH thinks he looks like a dalmatian puppy!
Yes he was supposed to be my pink baby but I couldnt imagine him being a girl now. He gets spoilt enough so it would be twice as bad if he was a little girl. But our house is very rarely quiet, especially at the moment with school holidays.
Laura is Sam BF? I also heard it is normal for them not to poo as breastmilk is such a complete food, there is no wastage, so I guess no poo!
    Hope this helps
