chelsea has nappy rash as well! its really bad, its kinda scabby near her anus. i took her to a baby clinic at the chemist today, not that helpful. she said to use sudocream. she reckons it looks like a milk intolerance or from a heavy / fast flow from me. i dont have a fast flow though. she did a bottle of formula twice do you think it could be from that?

Hollo, Have you tired Daktozin, I'm using that on Cookie as nothing else is helping her.
I'm starting to think she's allergic to the baby wipes, so I'm only using water & a cloth wipe now to see if that helps.
I honestly don't know about the formula Hollo, i guess anything is possible.

Hollo -- Thanks! I haven't really debreifed it all with anyone so it is nice to hear all the postive feedback, I am loving this site.

Trinity -- Yeah, I am thinking it might possibly be all the chocolate from Easter! I had held off from endulging for days but then caved and had a big choccy binge!

We have just ordered a Close Baby Carrier so hopefully it will be good! We took Immy grocery shopping (just a quick shop) last night and it was easy as she slept the entire time but my arms were getting pretty tired as I was just holding her so can't wait for the carrier to arrive to help with quick trips like that. Today, we went for a shop around Chermside and got bubs a swing. We haven't tried it out yet because she had a feed and fell asleep as soon as we got home but I think she will like it -- she loves when we swing her in our arms. Also got her a toy that she probably won't be interested in for a while yet but it is an elephant who has different shapes making different noises on it's trunk and I am addicted to making tunes on it which you can record and play back!! DP keeps joking that I won't let her near it because I am too busy playing with it.

Has anybody breastfed in public yet? I have been timing my trips in between feedings because I am a bit nervous but am really keen to build up my confidence -- anyone else feeling a little anxious about doing it in public or am I just being a freak about it haha!!

jitterbug- i breastfeed in public all the time. usually go into those parent areas but have been known to whip it out in general public places. :-) you'll be right after a while. we also have been carrying chelsea around the shops, i just find that the slings arent that user friendly, though the hug a bub is better than the shoulder ones. its hard with two kids too. especially the groceries!

I'm so lost as to what is happening, had to take a trip away.
My biopsy came back & I have skin cancer so off to see another specialist tomorrow.& a plastic surgeon as it's on my face.

Jitter, I feed in public all the time, Ijust throw a wrap over my shoulder to hide the good bits.

Is anybody doing a formula top up? Noah seems to be constantly feeding every second day & I'm wondering if that will help him.Especially with me being so stressed over this skin crap.

Miss you guys, hopefully things will settle here soon & I can get more time to myself.

I hear ya tiggerlinda - Susie has been feeding 3hourly all night last night and all day today...actually, we had a 4 hour gap in the middle of the day lol! I'm beginning to wonder if me giving up dairy for the last 2 days is helping her..the last 3 feeds shes had a lil burp, lil spit up, and straight to sleep! will keep you appraised of how things go there!

we haven't tried the sling yet..we really need to start using it! it says to first try using it when baby is settled to get used to it!

havent tried feeding outside of our house yet, will definitely be doing so this weekend - saturday we staying at mum and dads, then sunday will be at church in the morning, and then baby shower in the afternoon so she'll need at least two feeds out and about! be interesting cause I've gotten used to feeding with my pillow lol!

how many people meet up linda? what time on sunday? oh, and what is cetephyll?

storm- sorry to hear about your skin cancer. how did you discover what it was? is it a simple matter of getting it cut out and then its fine? i recently went to a mole scan place and they saw two 'suspect' ones, but told me to come back in 6 months to see if they have changed. i wasnt sure if that was a good idea to wait around for 6 months. anyway, hope it is all sorted out for you. with the breast feeding thing.. i was at the baby clinic today and the nurse reminded me about growth spurts. she said there is often one around 2 1/2 weeks and 6 weeks so maybe noah is feeding so much due to this.

MrsC- you shuold be carefull about taking out dairy, apparantly you need to up your calcium intake when you are bfeeding. maybe a multi-vitamin would be good for you. i wish Chelsea was feeding 3 hourly, she is so erractic but usally hourly! she has been sleeping really badly today, everytime i put her down she wakes up.

Susie has a bit of a rash too, not severe but its there, been putting moogoo on it (have been using it on my 'pad' rash once a day too which I've found helps!). u buy it online, I heard about it from the girls on the cloth nappy threads!

storm, really sorry to hear about your skin cancer too! hoping the removal isnt too painful *hugs*

Jo So sorry to hear about out it.

Hollo Cookie is doing the same thing today, waking whenever i put her down & will only drift off if she's on the boob. So frustrating.

JB- I feed in public, With DD1 i would also time her feeds so i wouldn't have to feed in public.

I think I am going to attempt to feed in public in the next few days! I am not too concerned about people seeing my boobies but just that somebody will say something about it... which I know is stupid because it is natural and definitely nothing to be ashamed of doing! It is good to hear all your stories, makes me feel more confident!

Linda -- would be nice to meet up at some point. Chermside was a little spur of the moment (the local shopping centre didn't have the swing we wanted so they did the ring-a-round and said Chermside had one so we decided to head over that way) but I do like going there, such a BIG place! Interesting to hear about the Brissy meet-up, do they do them often? How many people go? Sounds like it could be fun.

Storm -- sorry to hear, hope everything goes well for you.

Ahhh will write more later... Imogen calling! Take care.

Hollo - thanks for the concern, I was thinking about that too, am still taking the pregnancy and breastfeeding multivitamins I was taking when pregnant though so hopefully that'll help counteract the lack of dairy.

Susie ate from 9 till 9:45, then she was quite unsettled till 11, couple of burps and only a few lil spews, and then fed again at 11! for half an hour! I'm guessing she must be going through the 2.5 weeks growth spurt! shes just gone to sleep so I'm gonna catch some shut eye!

Storm so sorry about your news hun

Miss C had a whingy night last night from about 5pm till 11am and slept with me all night. I was not going to co-sleep and I still want her to sleep in her crib any ideas how to break this habit she has it has been 3 nights in a row now

LOL, nope no ideas linda! i am a pushover and just give up, but it is nice to co-sleep. :-)

so do you put the cetaphyll cream straight onto a tissue then wipe?

jitterbug- i have never had anyone say anything to me while breastfeeding in public. if i am around my DH's mates i just give a 'boobie warning' so they know not to look over for a sec while i attach.

    Hi

Jitterbug- we have a Close Carrier, brilliant havent used it out shopping yet but certainly has been a gid send around the house for when David gets grizzly and wont settle. Which has been more so this week as hubby is working away.

Can babies tell when one parent is away? David's been more grizzly than normal while hubby is away.

And I think i'm getting some type of cold my throat is sore but not sure what i can take for it.
