Hi all, glad u remember me. I had some financial probs & they came & took my pc back
Got a new one now. Paid in full, so I'll be hanging around for a while.

Prama, No not working at the pub anymore. Stopped in January coz we moved away. Even more out in the sticks now - well further from Dubbo - but in a bigger town. It feels wierd to have neighbours.
Kinda missing it. At home with the 3 kids 24/7 now. Haven't had them away for more than a few hours since I gave birth. Not that I'm ready to part with Jesse yet. I've had offers!

For those of you breast feeding, how often are your bubs feeding? I only got to 6 & 4 weeks with the girls coz of the pain first time around & colic with Bri, thought formula would help. It didn't.
Jesse is still going strong - every 2 hours. I didn't mind to start coz he was sleeping til 4am if he fed aroud 8 or 9. but the last 2 weeks he's been feeding every 2 hours through the night too. Last night was better, he went about 4 or 5 hours between feeds, but is everyone else feeding this often??

Oh & does anyone else use glycerine on dummies?? The chemist suggested it when he had thrush & he doesn't like the dummy without it anymore. I'm slowly weaning him off. I've had mixed reactions to it even though i know alot of people who've used it. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

well I suppose its time for an update from me

Jake is going well, he was at his 8wk check 5.1kg and 62cm long hes grown since then so I am going to weigh and measure him on monday. He is a long and skinny baby!!!still in Newborn disposables (infants don't fit, they are huge!!!) he now wears 00 jump suits and has almost grown out of them leangth wise but they are so baggy round the middle!!!!! he can still fit most 0000 clothes though he has been bought lots of 000 so he is wearing them most of the time.

he is now 100% breast fed, no sheilds etc....he does get a bottle if I am busy but not often. It tskes abou 30-40min for a feed in the day, morning feeds are longer as he drains both boobs which takes a while!!! He sleeps from about 8pm till 4am most nights has a quick feed and then sleeps till 7am when he has a really big feed.

Our routine tends to got like this:

4am - Feed, back to sleep
6:30-7am - Feed, then drop dad at work
7:30am -Ride my young horse for 1/2 hour or so depending on how long jake is contented in his swing for
9am - time for another feed
9:30-11am - Playtime,
11:15am - Feed
11:30 Sleep
2:30pm - wake from sleep and feed
3pm - 4pm - playtime
4:15pm - Feed then drop off at babysitters so I can ride my other horse for an hour
6:30pm - pick up from babysitter & feed
7 - Feed
8 - Bath, feed and bed


I have been very busy the last few weeks preparing for shows with the horses and we had a massive clinic with 2showjumping and dressage instructors last weekend so have not had much free time!!!

Shell - Glad Doni is home safely!

Danni - Don't worry about Jazz sucking her fists, it is a developmental stage and they say not to put mittens on their hands so that they can suck them. She will also start sucking on everything in her hands once she is co-ordinated enough so get used to having sloppy things around!

Prama - Sorry about your bad day also, definitely sounds like we all had a bit of a shocker!
Love your love story! Mark and I met in 96 through friends at the "Edgy" a local pub where people who went to the schools in our area grew up hanging out at. Over the years we have worked out that we have many mutual friends but just never actually met each other even though we were at the same parties or night clubs at the same time! I think that it was fate to meet when we did as any other time was obviously not the right time! We got married in 2002 (he took so long to propose!) and then finally decided to try to start for a family in 2006.
And as for Garth's vowels, he said he takes her to be his awfully leaded wife! Very funny - we are going to have a good laugh about it at mothers group on Wednesday!

Lisa - Great to hear from you Jake sounds like he is doing fantastically well! It's fantastic that you have got right back into your horses, you must have missed not being able to ride while you were pg (especially with all of the problems that you were having keeping him in!).

BJ - Haven't needed to do the glycerine thing on the dummy, Caitlin is fine with it without. Now that she is drooling heaps more I spend a lot of time wiping her face and the dummy as for one it looks gross when her face is covered in drool and also I don't want her skin to get all red and raw! I hope she is not going to be a huge drooler!
I don't know how you cope with having to feed every 2 hours, especially with 2 other kids, it would drive me mental. I hope that it spreads out a little sooner rather than later.

Wedding went well, Caitlin was so well behaved apart from the drive home! The wedding was in Warrandyte which is about an hours drive from home and she started crying almost as soon as we put her in the car. I ended up having to get in the back seat and stroke her face to keep her calm until we got home. I think she might have had some wind but being confined in the car seat made it worse because as soon as we got home and took her out of the seat, she did a couple of big burps and fluffs and was a lot happier. We put her to bed in her cot in her room last night for the first time in weeks and she slept the whole night (7hrs) and then had a feed and went back in the for another 3 hrs sleep - Yay! I am going to try and not have her sleep in our room from now on.

Anyway, gotta play hockey today so need to get everything ready. Have a good one all.

A little more from me because I can

Jake had been sleeping though the night but the last week he began waking at 1am and fussing, I have put it down to bad wind as he's had infacol for the last day and he's slept through till 4 again last night (thank goodness!!!)

I demand feed him and he generally feeds every 2 hours during the day except when he's sleeping and then he will sleep all night. Works for me and I wil lkeep doing whatever works LOL...he's a very good baby and until the last week he rarely fusses so fingers crossed we find out what's wrong with him (hopefully just wind!!!)

How often do your babies poo? Jake has gone to once every 5/6 days and they say that's normal but he acts like he is in pain for the last two days before he poops. He pulls his legs up and will just start screaming for no reason...it's hard to comfort him then too as he's obviously in pain...I have started giving him a little diluted apple juice to try and help him be a little more regular but it's hard as there are so many conflicting reports. We have a doc's appt on tuesday so fingers crossed we can answer a few questions.

I can't get over how long jake is....he's like a string bean and certainly not chubby...he is healthy and growing so I need to stop worrying I guess. I have posted some photos in my gallery for everyone to look at

Lisa - I have heard that it is normal for them not to go for up to 3 weeks! Caitlin does 1 - 2 poos every day still though.

Jesse poo's about 6 or 8 times a day. then not at all through the night. I like it coz I don't change him through the night, so he doesn't wake up properly. The glycerine is supposed to act as a laxative though, so I can't really help.

Hi girls,

Well, Doni got home last night which was soooo nice. I went to my pole dancing class and omg I am sooo unfit and I have lost all of my arm strength which you need for the pole, I felt soooo weak haha it will take me a while to get the hang of it again. Today my legs and arms are killing me and my ab muscles as well All good though. Felt great for doing it. Forgot all of the moves kehehe It has been about 2 years..... On the way home I bought some bits and pieces to make up an antipasto platter and some red wine to have with Doni. I had expressed enough milk too - all prepared. It was so nice, we just relaxed and watched some TV with DJ in between us. Ahhhhh been looking forward to doing that all week This morning we went out to breakfast with some friends. We decided to change the pram over, and remove the basinette because he has outgrown it, getting too small for him to move around. OMG that was a pain, didn't know where what went where etc. Finally got it sorted though. We first had DJ sitting up straight until we worked out how to put it down so he could sleep. Too funny!!!

Prama - that is a beautiful story on how you met Steve - sounds like a perfect match Doni and I met while we were both working at McDonalds and I was 17 years old then. We met at the Eastern Creek (on M4) McDonalds heading towards the mountains - ahhhh fond memories!!! Doni and I are soulmates as well, so know what you mean there. I couldn't imagine my life without him, don't think I would be complete. I think I am going to be really sore tomorrow from pole dancing, so if Im walking around like an old woman you know why...... Oh and my sore throat is much better, glands are still a bit swollen, but not as bad as the last few days.

Jo - firstly I LOVE the website!!! She is sooooo cute, and she has changed so much. It is amazing how much they change. I amazed about how much DJ has changed That is great to hear Caitlin was good for the wedding, luckily she only got unsettled for the car trip home, but it sounds like she just had some bad wind, and got her relief when she did those burps and fluffs. We also keep DJ with us to sleep after his morning feed, it is just a nice feeling.

Lisa - your feeding/sleep routine is similar to mine as well, except of course the horseriding Dj poos at least once-a-day and that has only been since I have introduced the top-up in formula. Before that he only poo'd every 2-3 days. DJ is also growing more lengthways as well, becoming a real stringbean too.

Bjrose - no don't use glycerine on dummies, never knew you could do that. I have used Infants Friend on DJ's dummy and he loves it, and sometimes if he is unsettled before his night sleep I put it on his dummy to settle him down.


Ok, well that is all from me. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Can't believe it is almost over - boo hoo. Doni only got home yesterday....... He hasn't even asked his boss about taking Tuesday off for my birthday, should be ok though, especially since he had to work Saturday and Sunday.

It relieves colic/wind symptoms etc also improves bowel movements...... I used it on DJ when he had bad wind and seemed to get him farting heaps and relieving his wind. Because it is all natural (smells of cinnamon) he likes it on his dummy. I don't do it every night, just when he is really unsettled before bed time. You can get it from the chemist and it is under $10.

poopy poos every other day. yeah, they can go up to 3 weeks w/o a poo. and then watch out! it flows out of the nappy!


jo - i do think it was fate! how amazing. steve was supposed to leave malaysia earlier but the project was delayed because of the 97 economic down turn. else we would ahve never met.

i know what you mean, steve completes me. when i was a young girl and always dreamt of my knight in shining armour and how he would be, steve's all taht. i always feel so safe in his arms and nothing can harm me. i cant imagine life w/o him..

im so sore from yoga yesterday. we both can be hobbly old ladies tomorrow. i dont have my mother's group on tuesday but have poopy's 4 mth check up with his paed. so wont be able to make it on tues.
i wonder if we'll have class next monday, it's teh long weekend.
i think i carried poopy wrongly the other day, ive had pain in my sternum area.

i think my milk is getting less and less, poopy needs more top up sometimes...
plus he woke up at 4am after a booby feed last night, he hasnt done that in a while.

Hi all

Jazz has stopped sleeping through lately. She's gone from sleeping 6-9 hours since the age of 6 weeks to now going to sleep at the usual time of about 9:15pm, then waking some time between 1 and 3 am and then again at about 5 or 6am. Big shock to the system. I've decided that this week I'm going to clean her room (I have clothes all through the cot and the room is a mess. I only use it to change her currently). Last night I didn't want her sleeping in our room coz I was sick of waking up at every little sound. I wheeled the basenette into the lounge which is next to our bedroom, then I shut our door. I was only woken up when she was actually crying so I ended up having a better quality sleep.

I'm going to get a monitor this week and once I have that and her room is tidy she is moving out of our room!
The only reason she's been waking up more is coz she has had bad wind. Nothing has helped. Perhaps I've been eating something that doesn't agree with her. I will have to think about what I eat.

Matt has been trying to get more confident looking after her while I go out. I went to church today without her so was planning to be out for a couple of hours. 1st phone call "I can't get her to stop crying and she wont take a bottle" told him to check her nappy. About 10mins later I got another phone call, she was still crying and still refusing the bottle. 3rd phone call and I left to pick her up and take her back with me. She used to be fine taking a bottle but lately has been refusing. I need to try and make her have 1 bottle a day to get her used to it. There is no way I could consider returning to work until she's taking bottles again and also I can't even get her babysat for more than a couple of hours while she's refusing a bottle.

I've been getting heaps of smiles and usually one of the first things she does when she wakes up is give a huge smile! She's getting heaps good control of her hands and really thinks about what she wants to touch and tries to touch it. She keeps reaching for the toys on her activity mat, can't quite grab them but she's trying. She hates tummy time but I'll keep persisting with that. She's started "talking" as well and we have a lot of "conversations" but she also responds to me talking normally to her as well.

With the hand sucking, she's now made one of her fingers red from sucking heaps. I have to put a bib on her all the time now also coz she's just a mega drool factory. My friend whose baby is a month older than Jazz said her baby doesn't drool as much as Jazz does.

Sorry this has been a long one. I've decided that I will not be spending as much time on the computer anymore so I guess I've had a lot happen that I haven't said.

We are picking up the hand and feet sculpture things this week that I mentioned ages ago. I'll take a photo and post it when we have it.

Yeah it is nice to have found someone that just completes you.... haha sounds a bit like Austin Powers haha 'you complete me'

I am only doing the Monday classes, just texted Ness to find out if it will be at that Box Hill hall only because of the weather outside, doesn't look too good. And yeah not sure if she will hold a class on the long weekend, but who knows......

I have good days and bad days with my milk as well. Sometimes I can express enough for two feeds, but other days I can only get 30ml out.....and when that happens I have no idea how much DJ is getting, so it helps to give him the top-ups. You know Poopy could just be getting hungrier and hitting a growth spurt so that is why he is taking more of the top-up especially since he is hitting 4 months

We DTD last night for the first time since about a week before Jazz was born! Because of the traumatic birth and because I had 9 stitches, when the doctor examined me when Jazz was 8 weeks old she said to wait 4 more weeks. I'm so glad we waited. It really hurt to start off with...it was like loosing my virginity all over again! But then it was fine!
Afterwards, Matt heard Jazz snorring and said "oh yeah, I forgot she was here" LOL! I guess we wont be able to be spontaneous much anymore.
