Well, a couple of new things to report from us. Lucy put her toes in her mouth for the first time last night while she was having a bath. She's been interested in her feet for a week or so, but that was the first time they went into the mouth for a good ol' chew. And then this morning she rolled herself over back to front as if she'd known how to do it for ages and just hadn't gotten around to it yet! Very casual about the whole thing. She's becoming very mobile, I've had to put the poor dogs out so that I can work without having to watch her constantly since she keeps moving around.
We had some bad news yesterday. Our good friend who is our neighbour died suddenly. He was 90 years old, but he'd seemed really good for a while now. He lived on his own next door, but had a busy social life and had only died a little before his SIL came around. He was still able to take care of himself and as sharp as a tack. He was a war veteran, fought in New Guinea in WW2. He must have died quickly because he had a call button thingy and we would have had a phone call if he'd used it. We're really upset about it as he was a good friend and an absolutely lovely guy. He gave us $50 to start Lucy's bank account at Xmas time and had spent 2 of the last 3 Xmases with us (his kids live interstate and one of them usually comes down at Xmas time, but not always Xmas Day). The world is worse off without him. I can't believe I have to take Lucy to her first funeral already.
