OK guys.. I am finally here! I'll just do an update on Tallon.. and get that out of the way.. then I can personals! I can't even remember what I posted last!

Umm... ok.. Tallon had his needles a couple of weeks ago.. and he was fine. Was whingy the next day, but other than that was fine.

He's starting to sit up well now. I'm finding he suddenly does things. Like tummy time was a nightmare for a long time, and I used to worry that he wouldn't progress coz he'd just cry whenever on his tummy.. then one day he lifted his head up and has a great ol' time on his tummy now. Still very rarely rolling.. and still not back to front. But yeah.. his sitting seems to be suddenly happening. I swear.. you've only got to blink and you miss something! hehe.

Oh a funny thing.. yesterday mum was here and was talking to him.. "hello Tallon" and he said "haaa ooooh" LOL. OMG it sounded like hello! LOL.

Sleeping - is still up and down. He has a few wakeful nights, then he sleeps through for a few nights.. then he's wakeful again. At least he sleeps through occasionally and it keeps me sane! I'm also finding it hard to know how to dress him and wrap him in this weather. Coz upstairs it's quite warm now, but it turns cold through the night. So if I dress him and wrap him in the evening.. he ends up a sweaty blob and wakes up.. yet if I underdress him.. we wakes up cold later in the morning. I've tried sleeping him unwrapped.. which is improving, but he doesn't stay asleep as long, so ultimately he's still being wrapped.

Teeth - nowhere to be seen! LOL. He's chomping ever more furiously on things and dribbling a whole lot.. but there's no signs of teeth.

Crawling - nah.. nowhere near I don't think. Altho the rate we're going.. he'll probably suddenly get up and crawl! hehe. He's kicking his legs a lot tho when on his tummy, so he'll suddenly get grip on the floor and move forward one day.

Eating - well, I bought some rice cereal yesterday and some pureed apple. *sigh*. He is soooo ready.. I'm not sure I'll be stretching him to the 10th to make it 6 months exactly! LOL. He was sucking on DH's apple the other day, and absolutely LOVED it. Screamed when we took it away.. and he doesn't do that when we take toys off him! But after talking to the community nurse today, I'm actually looking forward to having my little man start eating I was really surprised at how quickly they progress from pureed to mashed, to self feeding! And coz I've waited out the 6 months, he'll progress quite quickly. I have a feeling his gonna lurve his food. hehe.

Like I said, we saw the nurse today, he now weighs 7.6kg clothed, and is 66cm long! And of course she thinks he's a very handsome boy *proud mum* LOL.

Ok.. that was a quick run down! Will try and keep up to date now!

Oh! The other thing I was going to say was that he now baths in the big bath! He still doesn't quite know what to do wtih all that space and water! LOL. He very seriously lifts his legs up and slams them down to make a big splash.. and of course I get saturated.. but I can't say he's having 'fun' yet.. he's all too serious! LOL.

    Hiya all.
Last Friday, DH and I took DS1 to the hearing specialist (We had a bit of trouble finding the place, we got to missed the turn to go to Broadmeadow, so we thought but kept going through Mayfield and turned at the pub. We finally got there and couldn't find the hearing place! It took us about 20 minutes.) He passed with flying colours anyway! The lady was so nice and was really pleased with the results saying that he has perfect hearing and no problems with his eardrums either. We are so releived. She also told us that children who suffer from a lot of ear infections can suffer from muffled hearing because of the infection and their ears get blocked for a while. She said that 6 months of having blocked ears from the infections can have a large impact on speech development. That would explain so much with DS1 if that is true. He has a 12 months speech delay and it would make perfect sense as he suffered from bad ear infections at one time, for about 8 months or so.
DS2 needs a hair cut very badly, he is looking like a little girl instead of a little boy but I don't want to chop off his beautiful blond curls. They are just so nice and soft and they make him look just like DH. (DH has curly hair too but only brown.) I call them my wild and wooley haired men - they are so alike.
Cailan is rolling over so often now and is even pulling his legs up underneath him when he is on his belly. I think it is only a matter of time before he is crawling. He is also saying Dad-dad. It is so gorgeous. I can't beleive how much he is doing, I guess he developing quickly due to watching his brothers. He is 7.8kgs and so long! 70cms! He is into size 0's only for his length and looks so funny because the outfit (all-in-1)is swimming on him everywhere else. He has a big head too! Poor little man. It runs in my family.
DH turned 28 on Sunday so he had a double banger with Fathers Day and his birthday all in one. We gave him a nice shirt for FD and cooked a lovely dinner and gave him some money and a skydive for his birthday.

Hope all mums and bubs are happy and healthy and all Dads had a nice Fathers Day!

    Hi everyone.

Well, a couple of new things to report from us. Lucy put her toes in her mouth for the first time last night while she was having a bath. She's been interested in her feet for a week or so, but that was the first time they went into the mouth for a good ol' chew. And then this morning she rolled herself over back to front as if she'd known how to do it for ages and just hadn't gotten around to it yet! Very casual about the whole thing. She's becoming very mobile, I've had to put the poor dogs out so that I can work without having to watch her constantly since she keeps moving around.

We had some bad news yesterday. Our good friend who is our neighbour died suddenly. He was 90 years old, but he'd seemed really good for a while now. He lived on his own next door, but had a busy social life and had only died a little before his SIL came around. He was still able to take care of himself and as sharp as a tack. He was a war veteran, fought in New Guinea in WW2. He must have died quickly because he had a call button thingy and we would have had a phone call if he'd used it. We're really upset about it as he was a good friend and an absolutely lovely guy. He gave us $50 to start Lucy's bank account at Xmas time and had spent 2 of the last 3 Xmases with us (his kids live interstate and one of them usually comes down at Xmas time, but not always Xmas Day). The world is worse off without him. I can't believe I have to take Lucy to her first funeral already.

Well, best be off, I have a ton of work to do.

Oh Jen, that's so sad Sounds like he had a good long life tho. How lovely of you to get so close to him as a neighbour. Must admit, I hardly even know my neighbours names, and we live in a small complex of townhouses! We're lucky if we get smiles and nods when we see them.

LOL at Lucy sucking on her toes. Tallon discovered his toes a while ago, but struggles getting them up near his mouth with his big fat nappies on. LOL. But he pulls at them all the time, and he loves me doing 'this little piggy' on them. Altho he doesn't quite get the tickly under there bit. He laughs more at me wiggling his toes. hehehe. And hooray for rolling over! Tallon still gets stuck on his side, can't quite get over. I'm sure he'll suddenly do it one day.. like he's suddenly doing everything else.

Haven't started solids yet.. putting it off. I was almost all ready to try it last night, but I re-read the little brochure I got, which lists the signs.. and he's everything except hungry! LOL. He shows interest.. grabs the food.. is able to sit up supported etc.. but he's still satisfied after a milk feed.. so I dunno whether to start or not! I'll just keep putting it off I think And he's sleeping through again now.. the last 2 nights anyway.

Hope everyone is well.. I still haven't got around to personals.. sorry

    Hi all

Ivana - like Tallon, Lucy is showing just about all of the signs except hunger. On advice from the ABA I'm holding off solids until she's a bit more interested or hungry. I might try having a little banana with me when I'm having afternoon tea and offer that to her if she reaches out for my food. Don't see any need yet to do more than that. Might depend a little on her weight gain at her next appt, 6 mth needles! If Tallon is getting stuck on his side he must be so close. Lucy was doing that for a while too, and then today the legs got all the way and the arm was stuck. The next time everything got over, so it must be a process!

Steph - oh DS#2's curls sound so cute, I'm not surprised you are holding off getting them cut! I'm wondering if Lucy will have blond curls. She's definitely going to be blond and both my sister and Mum had curls as little ones, so there's a chance. Altho anything will be better than bald!

    Hope everyone else is well.

Well, having said he's not hungry.. I think he was hungry today! LOL. Fussing about and pulling at my boobs like I wasn't making enough for him. Well.. he's 6 months on the weekend, so we might celebrate by eating! LOL. We'll see. Won't hurt to try anyway

Hi all i hope you are all well,

My mum and dad got back from their o/seas trip last sunday so we have been busy catching up with them and finalizing my grandmas memorial service which is this coming tuesday. I dare say that is when it will really hit us all even though it has been about six weeks since she passed away. Anyway they had a great time on their holiday and brought back lots of lovely pressies for us all.

Both my boys have a cold ATM and are not in the best of moods. Liam is waking during the night cause his nose is blocked and Brad is just in a foul mood in general because he is tired and snuffly.

Feeding- i have been putting off upping Liams solid meals to three as i just can't find the time to fit it in, plus i think if i give him another one he will drop a b/feed and that is the start of the end for me in terms of b/feeding. i just don't want him to stop cause that will mean he is all grown up and doesn't need his mum as much . So as it stands he if b/feeding 4 times and having 2 solids a day which are slowly increasing in quantity. When he starts to be less interested/feeding less from the boob and crying for more i will give him another solid.

Weight - i weighed him at the chemist the other day and he was 5.9kg dressed. So i guess he has put on about half a kilo since the start of august. I might tryto get him abck into the clinic to check properly though.

Sleeping - he usually has 2 sleeps during the day. The first after his morning solids for about an hour to an hour and a half and the second before his afternoon solids again for about the same time, sometimes longer. He will then sleep on average 9-9.5 hours at night. He is almost to long for the snuggle bed now. We are going away next week for 2 nights so i will put him just in his cot when we get back i don't want to confuse him by changing now then putting him back in it IYKWIM.

Liams finger insn't infected anymore but it looks as though the nail is missing at the bottom near the cuticle. He won't let me look long enough to see though so i will keep an eye on it i guess.

Movement - still only rolling front to back. he won't pull his knees under but if we put him on his belly with them there he tries to lift his upper body off the ground but has no idea of what comes next.

Emz - Congrats to Abby on her tooth, i hope she isn't biting!!

Ivana - LOL at Tallon splashing about in the bath. Don't you love the mess you end up with? Good luck with the solids if you decide to start this weekend.

Steph - I'm glad all went well with the hearing test, it must be a relief for you all.

Jen - Sorry to hear about your neighbour, it sounds as though he will be dearly missed. Lucy is so clever reaching her toes to her mouth and rolling back to front.

Wow didn' realise i had so much to say. Liam has been happily jumping in his JJumper but is telling me its food time......i think he can have custard this morning. I can't be bothered mixing up the fruit and farex.

ETA - i forgot to mention that Liam is trying to give himself his bottle of water when i feed him now- he just reminded me when i fed him. He grabs with both hands and gets it in his mouth but hasn't worked out yet that he needs to lift it up, Proud mum...can't you tell. He just looks so cute when he does it., he ended up with a jar of banana and oatmeal and ate the whole jar, little piggy!

Have a good weekend and will catch you all later

    Hi Kas

I hope your Grandma's memorial service goes okay on Tuesday. Thanks for your thoughts on our neighbour. His funeral will be next week as well.

Oooo pressies, what did you get?! Hope the boys get over their colds quickly. Lucy had one too last week, not very bad (she never seems to get really stuffed up, just sneezes a bit, has a runny nose and wakes up for an extra feed in the night).

How clever of Liam to hold his own bottle.

I like your little summary of where Liam is at, so this is ours.

Feeding - still exclusively bf, although I did give her a taste of some banana this afternoon and she didn't seem to hate it. I'm waiting for an indication of her wanting more b4 I introduce anything else. She still has between six and eight feeds a day, but it's hard to remember!

Weight - not sure, but I'm guessing over 6 kgs now. She's growing longer and is starting to store a little extra on the thighs, but she's still a skinny-minny around the tummy! I'll get her weighed when she gets her next round of immunisations next week (I think).

Sleeping - well, she goes down around 7pm at night and sleeps until sometime after 4am (sometimes it can be as late as 6am, but very rarely). She then comes into bed with us (has a feed) and sleeps until we get up 6:30-7am. She has a 30 min nap at around 9am and another sometime after 11am. She then stays awake until her last nap, a nice big 2hr one, sometime after 2pm.

Movement - she sits now for 10 secs or more. She can roll both ways and it's hard to keep her on her tummy for tummy time now. She wriggles forward on her elbows and she can move her legs, but not both at the same time.

No teeth here. Everything in her mouth though, including her toes.

I can't believe Lucy, Tallon and Cailan are six months old tomorrow! We have a reunion with our antenatal class and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone with their bubs. I've seen a few of them since bubbas arrived, but not all.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and those of us in NSW are staying as dry as possible!

    6 months today!

We are officially starting solids tomorrow My mum wants to be here for his first feed. LOL. I dunno why, but might as well humour her. DH was worried she'll want to be here for all his firsts, but I said feeding him is one first we can control, we can't control his first crawl, or first steps, so lets just let her have her way. hehe.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.. even tho it was so wet here in Sydney area! Desperately trying to dry nappies at the moment.. I'm running out! I don't want to keep using the dryer.

Anyway.. will catch up tomorrow probably. Cya!

    Hi all

Gloomy, miserable day today here in Sydney, isn't it? Hope your nappies are drying Liz, although I don't know how if you don't use the dryer!

Our antenatal class reunion was so much fun! Only one other baby Lucy's age, the rest are a month or so younger. It's amazing to see how much they change over that month, I spent most of the lunch trying to keep Lucy out of everything while the other babies just happily sat in their prams or on their parents' laps and watched the world go by. Lucy doesn't sit still anymore! DP commented that it was funny to see all of us without our pg bellies as well. We've decided to do a catch up every couple of months. I can't believe one couple are already TTC next month and at least one other will be TTC in Dec. Oh and Liz, out of the seven couples in our class only one had a natural, spontaneous labour. Everyone else ended up with a c/s. Two were induced and didn't progress (one was already 14 days overdue), another got to 10 cms and bubby went into distress and wasn't low enough for forceps. I didn't hear the remaining stories, I know one couple ended up with an enormous baby (and she's smaller than me) so maybe that had something to do with her c/s. Also, out of the six that were there, only two of us are still bf. One gave up when she went back to work last month.

I think the reunion was particularly good for all the DH/Ps, they don't often get together with a group of parents and bubs. They all got along well in class and even remembered each other's names.

We are off to our friend's funeral at lunch time. At least the sky is crying for him too... Must go now, plenty of work to do b4 then and Lucy is having a nap so I'd best take advantage of it.

Jen - I hope the funeral goes well. Yeah - the weather seems appropriate doesn't it.

Tallon doesnt sit still either! He's such a pain when he's on my lap at my desk now. LOL. He's just grabbing EVERYTHING. He's almost climbing up on the desk sometimes. He's become a lot more vocal lately too. He used to be a quiet thinker.. but now he squeals and talks to himself a whole lot more. It's like he's rediscovered his voice box and he makes the strangest sounds. LOL.

I gave Tallon a taste of orange juice off my finger last night.. and when I took my finger out his mouth.. he LUNGED for the glass of orange juice. LOL. Poor kid. I think we've tortured him long enough.. he'll be getting some food tonight. Albeit boring old rice cereal with breastmilk. But then in a few days we can introduce something yummier like apple or banana.

As for drying nappies - they're on a clotheshorse in the loungeroom. hehe. I've had the heater on a bit the last few days, so they do dry eventually. Except I need the clothes horse for OUR clothes today! Might have to finish them off in the dryer so I can do my next loads of washing.

    Hi All,

Here is an update of Abby

Feeding: 3 bottles and 2 solids per day, eating about the equivilant of a whole jar per meal.

Teeth: One beautiful toothy-peg and its partner is just coming thru now. Shes doing great and so far we have only had 1 unsettled night (cried for 1.5 hrs  )

Mobility: Still rolling both ways, WONT sit up for any other reason besides being fed! At feed times she can lean forward, rest on her hands to hold her up... you name it, she can do it.

Sleeping: 2 naps per day and sleeps all night.

As for crawling, still pulling he legs up from time to time, but honestly I dont think its going to happen any time soon!

Talking: Nothing! Not a word. Lost of babbling etc.

Favourite things to do at this stage are: books, baths, eating and peek-a-boo games.

Oooo Em - how exciting that Abby called for her Mama!! I was very chuffed when Lucy started saying Mum. This morning she made a 'd' sound for the first time so I think dada might not be far away. If she takes her fingers out of her mouth long enough for us to understand her!

Hehe. Yay for all our bubs saying mum. I'm not quite convinced he actually means mum yet.. but I like to think so

Well.. we had our first solids tonight! and he ate it like a pro! LOL. I imagined him spitting it all out.. but he chomped it down! clever boy I thought it would be a bit boring being just rice cereal & breastmilk, so after a bit, I added in some apple.. but I think it put him off.. he pulled this strange face, and didn't want any more after that! LOL. So we'll stick with plain ol' cereal for a few days I think. I had to hold his hands down too.. coz he kept grabbing the spoon.. and he chomped down on the spoon too. LIttle monkey. Was good tho!

    *sigh*.. they're all growing up.

Oh! and like I said earlier.. with Tallon suddenly doing things... he now sits! LOL. He sat up on his own for aaaaaaages this afternoon.. and even stopped himself falling over at one stage! Of course he still did a couple of face plants.. but he is sitting really well now. Oh and I found the trick to stop him leaning so far forward.. is to sit him up looking at the hanging toys on his playgym.. so he's looking up at things at eyelevel. He rolls over all the time if he reaches down for his feet or a toy. hehe.

Ok... need to get some zzzz's. Got a busy week ahead. We've been given notice. Have to be out of this place by 13 October. Now I've just got to hope the dates co-ordinate with this house that we want. Fingers crossed!

    Night everyone

Hey all long time no talk been pretty busy with bubs and other things! Trying to start my own business writting home loans again but self employed rather than working for someone else which will eb good just raising the capital for the insurance and things is becomming a problem on just one wage!
Has anyone received the FTA Bonus yet I haven't got mine I know it is only like $150 or something but it would certainly come in handy right now! I have lodged my tax return and got a few hundred dollars in back pay when I did from under estimating my income but haven't got the bonus yet!
Declan is doing well almost sitting by himself and walks when you hold him up one his feet he is going to be unstoppable when he can balance himslef! Has only rolled once fully over has said mum too that was nice only the once though he kinda jus says ummmm since then heheheh!
We start swimming lessons on 27th of septmeber and I have to take him to the specialst on the 29th about his mis shapen head from be lodged on my pelvis before birth (it has gotten lots better but he still might have to wear a helmet to fully correct it. Poor bugger)
I guess thats about it hope all is well with everyone else I will have to update my website sometime soon!
