Prama - the community nurse can't come out to see me until next week Wednesday arghhhh so thinking of just going to the baby clinic up the road, just means I will have to make sure DJ is all rugged up for the walk. The lady on the phone said she would get the nurse to call me and maybe they could come earlier but I don't like my chances. I just have so many questions that I need to ask, probably just better off going up to the clinic. Might hold off for a bit in case i get a call....

Trina - hope you feel better

Will talk more later when i get time xx

Hi March '08 mums and bubs...fabulous to be able to join you all on the "other side" ....

To introduce myself.....I am Hayley, mum of 4 beautiful children aged 5.5y, 3.5y, 2y...and of course my March '08 bub "Ari James" who was born on the 16th (his EDD) after a 3 hour natural labour, he weighed in at 9lbs (4080g), was 52.5cms and had a 36cm head. I had placenta issues...it didn't want to come out but other wise my recovery has been great (no tears etc). I live on the NSW Central Coast.

All is going really well with us...we had the clinic nurse visit at 16 days old and Ari weighed 4640g, was 56.5cms long and had a 37.6cm head....woohoo for breastmilk .....breastfeeding is going well obviously and I am enjoying having a bub at my breast again (DS#2 weaned 3.5mths ago).

We use cloth nappies which is also going well. We use fitteds and covers, although he is so big a lot of his newborn fitteds are getting on the small side . I also use cloth on my 2 year old but mainly use pockets and AIO/2s on him.

I am a big fan of baby wearing which is fortunate as Ari only sleeps when he is with me...so far we love our Bear Hug Baby pouch, wrap and sling . We co-sleep at night and generally get a good 4-5 hour sleep in there somewhere and then a 2-3 hour one...he settles straight after boob which is nice (he has not had the day/night confusion...yet).

OK well as you can imagine I am busy with 4 kids but I will try to keep up to date...

    Cheers Hayley.

PS. on a mucousy bub...my DD was born quickly (7minute 2nd stage) and was quiet rattly etc I did take her to the Drs a couple of times to ease my mind (they did nothing, lol) but she did just eventually grow out of it....I hope your bub improves soon.

Welcome Hayley - Everyone here has a lot to say so if you don't get on for a couple of days there is always a lot of reading to do!

Caitlin had a M&CHC visit on Tuesday and is now 3505g (7lb 11oz) so another 2 weeks of good weight gain. She also grew another 1.5cm in length and is now 50.5cm. She has finally grown out of the Pumpkin Patch prem grow suits and is in the NB ones! She also had her check up with the Paed and he is happy with her progress and diagnosed her with reflux which is a relief as I thought that everything I was eating was upsetting her tummy. Now she is on mylanta and although she is still bringing up a lot of milk, she is no longer in the same distress when she does bring it up. She is also now really engaging, she makes eye contact, smiles and makes little noises like she is trying to talk to you! When Mark get's home from work he sits her down and tells her about his day in an animated voice and she grins and gurgles at him the whole time, it is very cute to see!

It's my 36th birthday tomorrow - how depressing (I still only feel 27!). Looking forward to our Cairns trip in 3 weeks it will be nice to get away and have a change of scenery.

Trina - Hope your cold doesn't take hold.

Danni - If you are worried about Jazz's chest, take her to the doc, the weather is only going to get cooler from now on so you don't want her to get sick.

SJ - Glad the funeral went ok - good on you for sticking with the cloth nappies, I don't know how you find the time to keep them washed!

Jade - Yay for the new furniture - you room should look so nice!

Shell - Take it easy re the expressing, don't worry too much if it drops off for a day or so, mine does the same and then picks up again.

Prama - out about the boobies - hope they feel better soon.

Gotta go shopping now - enjoy your evenings!
