I bought my first cloth nappy today and a breastfeeding bracelet. I have a weakness, my local natural parenting shop which is about 10mins drive from home. Now that Jazz has got herself into the habit of doing one big poo a day I've decided that I'm going to try cloth nappies to save a few bucks.

I also bought (from the chemist) a new nipple shield pack (2 shields and a case for only $12.95). I decided to get smaller teats in an effort to try and get Jazz off the shields.

I really love the breastfeeding bracelet, I always forget what time I did the last feed, now I can track it. Also now I don't have to use a safety pin in my bra to remind me which side to start on.

Has anyone's bubs started to giggle yet? Jazz is trying to but hasn't quite got it yet. She's started copying when I poke my tongue out though.

    Hi girls,

Things are going well with DJ, last night (Sunday) he slept for 5 hours and I felt great today. Waiting for him to wake up for his next feed, he has been sleeping for almost 6 hours now!!!! Omg I hope he can do that again after his next feed. He is starting to sleep more in between feeds.

Prama - good to see you today in class and also for coffee afterwards, we will have to make it a regular occurence so we can have a good chat after class...... that way we don't get into trouble for gas bagging hope you managed to get Steve to check out the pram for you so it is easier to get in and out of car.

SJ - envious of a 9pm-5am sleep for Molly Jane - that is fantastic!!

DJ waking up, better prepare for feeding, I will do personals tomorrow.

    Hope you are all well.

    Shell yay for longer sleep!

I decided to try something today. Jazz has got a habit of sleeping all night and then waking sometime between 5 and 6am for a feed and then going back to sleep for a couple of hours. Now, I would like to sleep longer after that 6am feed. This morning I put a blanket over her crib to make it darker. We went back to bed at 7am, it's now 10:30 and she's still asleep but sort of makes some noises occasionally now coz she's got wind. I'm waiting until she starts really crying or there's less quiet time between wind whimpers before I get her up. It's great though coz I got up at 10am, got dressed, had breakfast, hung out the washing I put in the machine at 7 before I went back to bed and I'm getting some forum time!

Danni Wow what a morning! I was excited that Flynn slept from midnight to 6.30! Well done on getting your washing out... I haven't even washed mine yet!

Better go and do some housework before the day is gone!

hi ladies, things have been sooo busy I haven't had time to jump on here for a while!

Will decided he didn't want to be wrapped anymore so he's graduated to a sleeping bag now.

danni that's a great idea about the blanket. I'm going to have to try that because Will does exactly the same thing. You're so lucky you get a whole night's sleep. oh and one poo a day? I'm jealous. I feel like i'm changing nappies constantly!

catherine i feel the same way - the day just disappears for me

shell DJ and Will are about the same age but Will is sleeping less between feeds!

speaking of, I can hear him grumbling. He's feeding two-hourly today - be back later!

shell - hehe i find exercising my mouth makes it easier exercising my body. yup, will have to shut up so that i can do more!
my whole body hurt yesterday, i was soo tired.
steve pointed out what was wrong w the pram, i hadnt pressed hard enough on the security lock to unlock to enable it to fold.. d'oh!

    danni - you clever girl!

kitty - good to heear from you!

we had our first mothers group today, it was great fun, we just chatted and chatted and chatted. heheh exercising my mouth more. well what do you expect when you get a group of women together who are stuck at home most of the time and have little adult casual conversation. there were 4 boys and 3 girls between 7 weeks to 4 mths. we also had a video on sleep and settling, we hardly watched it cos we jsut didnt stop talking!
one of the mums' lives up the road from me, and we going for a walk on friday morning. that will be nice!

Prama - great to hear Steve worked out the pram for you - that will make it easier for you. Oh and well done on the mothers group, sounds great. I just got off the phone from the community nurse and mine starts next week Wednesday Yipeeeee I can't wait!!

Danni - wow that is a great routine and what a great sleeper. DJ has wind too so grizzles alot when sleeping.

Kitty - DJ feeds more regularly during the day, every 2 hours also, think he just gets thirsty kehehe

Well I better get organised, gotta head to friends place and drop off a birthday present for her daugter. Hopefully the drive will make DJ sleep because he has hardly slept much at all today.

    Chat later
