Yay Josh stayed asleep when I put him down and slept until 3am when he woke for a feed, and he stayed asleep again when I put him down after that feed and woke just after 7am for another feed. Put him down about 8 and he's still sleeping! Now I've probably jinxed it, he'll wake up. I went back to sleep myself until 9:30 so squeezed in some breakfast. I might try my luck for a shower before he wakes up hungry

Wow you girls have been busy!

Laranna sounds like you ended up with abetter night than you had hoped! Hope you managed to get that shower. thats the one thing i find so hard with two little ones home all day! Most times i have to wait til DH is home and awake!

Blanche i twould be gret if they could just tell us where it hurts hey! Hope you have some improvement over the next couple of days.

Jodi 10hrs please let me have that! My others were good sleepers by 6wks so i am praying that we have turned a corner and get regular good nights with Molly now Then all i need is Mitchie to get better and sleep through and i will be right!

Beckstar wow i hope bubs poohs soon! That is surely gonna be an explosion and a half Hope your 6 wk checkup goes well. I am supposed to go for mine on Wed but AF has shown her ugly head so i am going to change my appoint to next week.

Well we have had two good nights in a row here with Molly, first night was 8 & 1/2hrs from 9pm til 5:30am and last night was 7 & 1/2 hrs from 11pm til 6:30am. So i am hoping as we are now at 6wks (where did that go) today maybe we will settle into a good routine like the others did at this age! But poor Mitchie's asthma is playing up so he is pretty restless at night so even though Molly is doing great I am still not getting heaps of sleep plus he now has conjunctivitis (almost over it I hope) but the stuff is so contagous (bad sp) that i now have it and am super paranoid i am going to pass it onto Molly! I was soo careful when cleaning Mitchies and DD's eyes and i still ended up with it. So i am praying that Molly doesnt get it!
Anyway other than that all is good here, except that AF has decided to show up iso hate her! Thinking about getting the mirenna (sp?) put in and praying that it takes AF away or at least minimises her!
ANywya i am off to see if i can rest these poor eyes for a bit, if Mitchie lets me.

Have a great day (whats left of it)

kat - got AF today too It sucks being one of the unlucky ones to get AF while exclusively b/f.
I hope Mitchie's asthma doesn't get too bad. I have asthma myself, so know what he's going through.

Sounds like you girls had good nights in the end, which is great!

Just this morning Emily seems to have grown up heaps. She was 'talking' to me this morning and was generally happy being awake watching her big sister dance around the lounge room. She even giggled a little at the tv!! It was very cute.
Both girls are asleep now. I really should be having a nap myself. But I know as soon as I put my head down, Emily will wake for a feed.

Managed to get a shower in, so nice to have a hot steamy shower

Bugger on getting AF Kat & Jodi....my lochia only completely finished last week so i hope AF stays away for awhile for me.

I really need to cut DS's fingernails because it's one of the reasons he keeps waking himself him - he scratches himself. Even if I wrap him tight he always gets an arm out. It's tricky to do do so might have to get him to sleep first and then cut them.

Jodi thats sooo cute that Emily is giggling! Molly has big smiles and talks but no giggles as yet. Can't wait for them.

Laranna yay on getting your shower! Yep I have found its much easier to do thier nails when they are sleeping.

Regarding AF i was soooo peeved as i only just finished my lochia (ha thanks Laranna after 7 kids i never new it had a specific name!) 3 dys prior to AF arriving! It was the same with Mitchie too! Yet with my second and third babies i never had AF whilst BF!So go figure! I was hoping to not get her this time either oh well the luck of the dice hey!

Best get back to it all suppose!

Blanche - I agree it would be so much easier if they could talk already.

The last couple of days Josh has started cooing and aahing (when he's not crying!) and I've had a couple of smiles. He also sticks his tongue out alot and it's really long! So far he is unsettled shortly after feeds and then he seems more content once he has farted/pooped.

He is still squirming and fussing at the breast along with making grunting and sighing noises...all happens about 5-10 minutes into the feed. Have been switching sides several times and burping in between but he still does it. Pushing through it, hopefully he will settle down soon.

Jodi- Wow at Emily giggling, how cute.
Amelie has only just started smiling on Sunday gave the first one to her Dad(of course) when I am the one with her all day and during the night. But I have had my share this morning.
Amelie has now gone back to how she was a few weeks ago, very sleepy she cant stay awake hardley at all during the day and she is not feeding as much still as regular but not taking as much milk and then sometimes wakes up an hour after a feed for more. Very frustrating.

Kristale - I'm starting to think the same about the sleep with Josh. He seems to be sleeping more easily the last couple of days and stays asleep without my help. He's still feeding as normal though.

Last night he slept through for the first time! Well he slept from 11pm and woke up at 5am for a feed. So 6 hours woohoo. We went back to bed at 6am and he slept through until 8:30. He had another feed and now he's in a milk-induced sleep! I had to express afterwards as my boobs felt a bit full still.

The funny thing is I still had worrying thoughts about what if he's not feeding enough because he slept through the night!

lol laranna! He wouldn't be sleeping long stretches if he was hungry. He'd certainly be letting you know.
kristale/laranna - they might be extra sleepy now if they've finished their growth spurt? A growth spurt takes a lot out of them. Just a thought anyway.

All good here. Emily has become really settled during the day now, so I think she might be over her growth spurt
Sounds like she's awake. Better go.

wow Laranna- what an awesome night you had. well weve gone back to our 4 hr night feeds again- just when I thought that things are looking up int he sleep department too.

Great news also, we officially have a poo-ey baby again in the house. Mind you she waited out until day 10 yesterday and yes it did resemble the sound of an atomic bomb too although there really wasn't much there. And have lready been graced with another today and a lot bigger too so looks like we might be back on track in that department.

have had docs 6 week app today and all is well with bubs. they didn't weigh her which is a bummer but are happy with her progress. they said that if the poss go AWOL again to give Coloxal drops after 10days for BF babies and that should get things moving.

I've had to have another lot of bloodtests to check on my liver function as I had problems with cholestatis during PG. also have to have an ultrasound done in next few weeks as they think I have gallstones Last thing I want to have to deal with as they can only get rid of them via surgery. Anyway trying not to think of it until I get the u/s done and see what it shows. Just have to be really careful in what I eat as anything fatty/oily wreaks terrible pain and havoc on me.

Feeling really good today and on top of things. DS is crook again with a cold/croup so have been getting up to him few times in the night lately. Hate this crappy winter weather as we seem to always have back to back colds in the house. Bring back the sunshine I say

well have both kids sound asleep in bed which is where I should probably be but is actually enjoy making the most of the quiet time in the house while I can to do some things just for me (like being able to drink a whole cup of tea- while it's hot!) how sad my life really is that I get excitied about hot tea!!

    Hope everyone is good.

hot tea, can't remember the last time I had one of those!! Hope you enjoy it.
Nina doesn't want to sleep today. I keep putting her in bed, and she keeps getting out of bed and banging on the door.
woohoo that she finally did a poo! Lets hope her poos become more regular now.

oooh, no more banging on the door! She might be sleeping

Kat - hopefully you don't have to have the surgery..

Jodi - did Nina eventually get to sleep?

Josh is still wide awake but he is due for another feed shortly. It seems that he always want to be awake in the evenings. He has a bath at 6:30 then a feed at 7 and then I try and settle him to sleep but he is always wide awake. We try and keep the noise down and the lights low as well. Do you girls settle your babes to sleep or do you put them down to bed if they are still awake?

He is still being squirmy and fidgety during feeds so not sure what is up with that, may give the ABA a ring tomorrow. He is still getting throug the feeds, not rejecting it or anything but they are just taking longer now.

HI everyone. Sorry - been a bit MIA lately. Elena has suddenly turned from a happy, content baby into a screaming nightmare. I'm hoping its "just" colic and not reflux. Don't think I could deal with another reflux baby. She is having maybe a 5 or 6 hour feed first up at night after a 7.30 pm feed and bed, but then is waking every couple of hours really uncomfortable and the other thing that gets her back to sleep is a feed. God I'm tired!

Laranna - Elena is pretty squirmy while feeding too - especially on the left side. If you get any answers from the ABA let me know. I do a bit of a combination for sleep with Elena, depending on what she's doing. During the day I will put her to bed when she's awake, but when I can see she's getting tired. I wrap her, put her down and then rock the cradle for a few minutes and she usually goes off. At night she tends to feed to sleep so I put her down asleep. I really think just do whatever works for you and Josh - there's no right or wrong way. I cuddled Izzy to sleep for about 8 months and she is a brilliant sleeper, so I don't subscribe to the theory that unless they learn to go to sleep themselves you'll have problems. I'm more a believer that your baby will either be a good or bad sleeper, no matter what you do - just pray for a good one!

Jodi - that's gorgeous that Emily is giggling. Best sound in the world isn't it. Hopefully Nina will have a better sleep day for you today. Do you bath your girls together? I'm struggling to get them both done but don't know when is a good time to try them together - Izzy's pretty full on in the bath splashing and playing.

Beckstar - yay for a pooplosion! Its tragic isn't it what we get excited about. I read a whole chapter of my book yesterday! I used to notice women's shoes, handbags and clothes. Now I look to see what pram they're pushing!

Kristale - that is very frustrating with half feeds. Don't know anything to suggest. Just hope it settles down for you soon.

he still doesnt like to sleep long in the day, the only way he does is on me in the carrier! i just keep telling myself "this will get better"! i hope :d

Jodi - i love when they first giggle it makes it all worth it!

    Laranna - ABA any help?
