    Hiya!
We're home again, still jetlagged... it's going to take us a while to get back to our normal time zone. It's a bit hard trying to get Aadi to have dinner or go to bed before 9pm, since that is technically mid-afternoon for him still. We're still wide awake at 3am, so I don't know how DP's going to handle going back to work and having to be up at 6 tomorrow! And it's so freaking cold! Hate it.
Anyway, Aadi was really good on the flights back. It was over 24 hours in the end, as our flight out of Dubai was delayed and we had to sit on the tarmac for over an hour. Aadi started walking a few days before we left, so we spent a lot of the flight walking with him up and down the aisles, and he spent a lot of time flirting with the flight attendants (several of which DP had actually recruited before he left the airline industry a few years ago).
Also saw my old boss (the one who fired me for being pregnant) on our flight. I was so tempted to spit at her... stupid cow.

Aadi was biting me more before, then stopped for a while, but has started again. For some reason, he thinks kisses have to include teeth!
It's very strange to see him stomping around the house in his ugg boots now!
For most of the holiday we had to resort to feeding Aadi jars of food that were just puree, as that was all that was available. He refused to eat anything I cooked for him with any texture or lumpy bits that previously he would have devoured. Then in France there was a huge selection of ready-made meals for babies and toddlers, but we had to keep giving Aadi the ones for under 12-months since he would spit out everything and refuse to eat any more if he encountered a grain of rice or small piece of pasta. Then he discovered French bread and Boursin cheese... and brioche, and croissants. He wouldn't eat anything else!! Oh, except for creme brulee. Cheeky kid, has expensive taste! Now he wants to eat what we're eating, providing it's not rice or anything with "bits" in it. I'm having a hard time getting him to eat much now we're home, except porridge for breakfast, and bread with Boursin cheese! Even went to the French bakery to get him brioche today, since I can't be ar$ed making any right now. This kid is spoiled!
Of course, the last 2 nights in France Aadi slept straight thru. Then we went and ruined it all by travelling again... he's been sleeping 8-9 hours straight, but from 2am, so we need to fix that somehow. Then when he has a nap during the day I've had to wake him up after 2 hours. It's really quite bizarre! I can't get him back in his cot again though. Screamed for 3 hours last night when I tried, and I just can't listen to that anymore. He was hysterical and shaking, and I felt awful. Put him back in the single bed, which he was getting used to in France, and he slept instantly.

How's everyone? Hope you're all doing well.

    Hi ladies

Abbie has been still a little whingy but getting a little better. I think the sooner i take this dummy off her the better. Also lately she has been a real little bugger at sleeping. She has been sleeping through the night still but will fight it BIG TIME to go to sleep at night. Normally she is the first ot go to sleep here and now she is the last!!! During the day she hardly sleeps she is lucky to have an hour. Yesterday she only slept for half an hour all day she literally fell asleep at 3:00 in my arms eating a biscuit!!!!! I dont know what ot do with her, i know that cody stopped having day time sleeps at this age but he was a horrible sleeper from birth. Lachlan still has sleeps during the day now!!! I dont know if i should make her have more sleep during the day or just let her have what she gets now!! I am so unsure cause its not like she is still going to bed early which for her is normally before 7pm cause now its a fight to get her to sleep before 8pm?????????

Nana i am glad that you all had great trip your photo's look great, lovely weather over there!!! Its too cold here for me!!!!!! We put Lachlan into a big bed at this age and it worked really well for him, lachlan is a very independant child i think that is why!! I am not ready to put abbie into a big bed she is our last so i am not ready to pull the cot down yet LOL!!!

Abb my abbie lol is a pincher she pinches everyone and now has started to pull the little girls hair!!!! She sounds really bad but she does not do it often i just give her a sharp NO OUCH and she gets upset for about 3 seconds and noramlly does not do it again. I really think it is working as she has not pinched for awhile now just pulling hair.

Deancy great to hear from you !!!!!!

Jess i have not seen those baby love nappies how bizzare!!!!!!!!!!

Hello to everyone else i have missed hope all is well!!!!

hmmmmmm not much else to report.

jayda is doing well but her food consuption has gone down alot. i started giving her a mid day bottle again but then she dropped her food even more so i stopped it and she only has a night bottle now.
she had really sloppy poo's all this week and i thought it was from the formula i put her back on after the cows milk playing up on her but she seems to be gettin alot better now.

she is so annoyign at the mo. no matter wat i do she just has to be pulling at me or sooking or doing somethign naughty she is doing my head in lol. i think she is pickin up the naughty things from the kids at daycare and she is gettin jealous when i work too.

It's too cold!! I've been back a week and I've already booked tickets to QLD for me and Aadi, and started looking for somewhere else to live! The more time we spend at home, the more damage Aadi does to himself. It's ridiculous! He just climbs on everything, touches everything he shouldn't, and puts absolutely everything in his mouth. He's already chipped his front tooth twice! While I'm watching him! I can't turn my back on him for a second, even if he's playing somewhere safe or watching tv (he actually watches it now!). If I step out of his line of sight, he screams and cries like it's the end of the world... but I can't find a place for him at a childcare centre anywhere, so it looks like it's going to be separation anxiety and attachment issues for a bit longer! oh well...
I can't get over how many times I can say "NO!" or remove Aadi from whatever naughty/dangerous thing he's doing and still he continues to go right back to doing it. Over and over! So cheeky! He'll push all the buttons on the DVD, slap the TV screen, pull the speakers off the shelf and rip up the phone cord at least 10 times in a row before getting bored and going on to trash something else, despite being put on the other side of the room and given a stern, sharp "no!" every time. It's exhausting.
But on the up side, since we've gone back to putting him to sleep in his own bed in our room, he's sleeping so well! Admittedly, it's taken us until tonight to get back to a good bedtime and over the jetlag, but he's sleeping thru until maybe 4am, then having a cry, a quick feed or cuddle and then sleeping till 8! So he's getting maybe 8 or 9 hours sleep a night, which is such an improvement! Doesn't sound like much, but for me it is. We had a couple of rough nights when he was going to sleep at 6.30 and waking up after an hour or 2 thinking it was still just a nap, and screaming and fighting because we wanted him to go back to sleep. But it seems to be going ok so far, and I just hope it continues. I think I will just die if this sleep thing doesn't get better! I can't face the stupid sleep disorder clinic doctor anymore. He sent me a copy of the letter he sent the paediatrician, and it was just nonsense and rubbish. All these things he said he had recommended to me, but didn't, and silly inaccuracies because he didn't listen to what I told him because he was too caught up with other patients, and he kept sending us to wait in the cafe (in a whole other building at the hospital!) to see another specialist later, who never ended up seeing us anyway. argh... I would absolutely hate to have a child with a serious health problem or illness, because it's so frustrating and demoralising, going thru the public health system. Jess, I think you know what I mean!
Anyway, I have ranted enough. I should be taking advantage of this opportunity and sleeping, but I'm in denial and haven't gotten over the jetlag properly myself (I'll be using that excuse for a few months yet!). I saw Nice on tv last night, and the beach where we went every day... did I mention we were staying just up the street from the hospital where Brangelina's twins were born? I could SO live there...

    Hello ladies,

I have disappeared because I had my sister from Melbourne visiting me as well as having to prepare for my exam. I sat for my final exam yesterday. Yesterday was DD's last day at childcare. I now have two weeks to relax before semester 2 commences. For next semester I will be taking 2 units and I will be finalised. I am so excited. We are moving back to Melbourne after my graduation. Since the beginning of this month, DD has been standing up on her own without the support of anything. Like NANA, I am having to stop her from getting to the telephone, PS3, Xbox, DVD player and changing the television. The good thing is she does not go near the heater. Her 6th tooth is visible. She did take two steps on her own and can stand up for a while. She stands up a lot. If she falls down, she tries again, Lol. It's so cute. She says 'Mama'. It's aborable. During my uni break, I will be taking DD to storytime at our local library on Wednesday's and Thursday's in the mornings. I am still breastfeeding. DD still demands two naps during the day.

    Nana,

What do you mean she fired you because you were pregnant. That's discrimination. Did you not take any action against her and the place where you worked? I hope it works out with the sleeping.

    Jess,

Any news? Would you DP be okay with having another baby if you are in fact UTD?

    Hi to everyone else.

Girl - Yasmeena will be running around before you know it! Move everything dangerous out of her reach now!!
The silly moo-cow fired me because I was pregnant, but didn't quite say as much. They would never actually admit that, as it would be getting themselves in trouble. They couldn't give me any other reason, though, and I was so upset at the time that I just left without saying anything. I was 3 days short of finishing the 3-month "probationary" period there, as it was a relatively new job for me. So technically, they were legally able to fire me with no notice and no real reason, but they still shouldn't have because I was excellent at my job and making them heaps of money... and working 6 days a week instead of the 5 I was meant to be doing! I have thought many times about what legal action I could have or should have taken, but I was pregnant and just didn't want that kind of emotional stress in my life. I just boycott the place now and discourage everyone I speak to from spending their money there!
I bet it was great having your sister visit. And you must be thrilled to be coming back to Melbourne some time soon. Although it's freezing and miserable here right now... I'm tempted to move back to Queensland even. I never thought I'd say that!

    Hi All,

Sorry I've not posted in a while. I've been reading your posts though (by logging in on my mobile briefly), and trying to keep up to date (though it has been rather quite in here anyway). I haven't been on the computer much lately, as I find I feel queasy when I sit looking at the computer (laptop), especially in the evening when I feel crook anyway. DH said maybe its the resolution in the screen , but I find it interesting that the days I throw up are usually work days, where I've been looking at a computer all day

We are pretty much all good here. As far as I know all is going well with the pregnancy, I'll be 11weeks this coming Saturday. I have a check up with my gyno on Tuesday, which I'm really looking forward to, as I know he will do a quick scan and I'm really anxious to see that heartbeat. Its rather strange this time being pregnant, as last time I had a blood test to begin with which told me my levels and a quick scan at 8 weeks, which showed the heartbeat, cause it was all through the fertility program- which put me at ease, but this time I have no idea whats going on, which gets me a little worried - the not knowing if all is ok that is. But being that most days I feel queasy -though last fews days have not been too bad and I haven't thrown up since last Friday, other then that I've been a little tired (but I've still got this damn cough which is not helping me get sleep at night either) and the BB's have started to tingle this week - if it wasn't for having all these symptoms I know I would be worrying alot more.

As for Cam, he is going well, except:- I dropped him off at kindy this morning, and about 1hr later I had a phone call at work asking me to pick him up cause of a slight rash he has got....which they believe to be Hand Foot and Mouth disease....lovely kindy germs . I rang the doctor, who managed to squeeze me in, as they were totally booked out (there were alot of people sitting in the waiting room with masks on, which thankfully I was told to sit in a different spot away from everyone). The doctor was not 100% convinced, as its only the rash and a couple of blisters on his hand palms, he doesn't have any other symptoms like fever or loss of appetite, but I think it is likely to be, as there was apparently a confirmed case of it at the kindy this morning anyway, and apparently it was a toddler, which Cam would've been in contact with briefly on Friday afternoon (they combine them late in the arvo before pick up). He seems ok though, still happy and healthy in every other way. So he is home from kindy til next week, hopefully - I have to get a medical clearance before he is allowed back though. I'm going to get Mum to look after him tomorrow, as she was planning to take him back to theirs for his 1st overnight stay on Friday night anyway, so this way she can spoil him the WHOLE day, .

DH and I are meant (and probably still will) to be going out tomorrow night, something that was planned before I found out I was pregnant, so I was originally planning on a very big night, though now it will be boring soft drink and water for me but we still thought we'd let him stay at my parents (who live about 30mins away up the highway) to see how he'd cope (I'm sure he'll be fine though). It will be nice to have a sleep in and not have to worry about being quite when we get home.

Other then the HFMD, Cam seems to be going well. He is walking alot more now, though still cheats and crawls depending on whats around -like toys in his way, he'll tend to get down and crawl. Though this week he seems to have taken more risks and walking around and over them. He is not saying any new words other then the ones I'd mentioned previously. His routine is in between worlds too, some days he has the 1 day sleep, (from 12.30-1pm' ish, usually for 2-3hrs), and other days it'll be the 2 sleeps (about 1hr from 10am ish, then down again at 2.30-3pm 'ish for 1.5-2hrs) - it all depends on what time he wakes (there was a couple of days he has woken at 8am, and even 1 day there where I actually had to wake him at 9am) and what we have planned for the day.

Question:- those doing the cows milk now - how much milk does your bub get a day?

So far we are still doing bottles, as I find most sippy cups I've bought to be too messy to muck around to much with. Though I have found in the last few days the push top drink bottles may be another option. Cam usually gets about 3 x 150mls a day- wake up, after lunch and before bed - which suits our routine perfectly. He loves his milk and usually cries/sooks a little when the bottle is empty (DH is the same, since he was little too - has a few of glasses of milk every day). I just don't want to overdo it (is that possible???) with the milk/calcium as he also loves his yoghurts and cheeses too.

Well that's all from me for now, sorry I haven't done personals, but I send a big to everyone and hope everyone's bubs are doing well.

    Bye for now,

    Hey girls
its been awhile since i have posted in here, but its been quiet anyway i guess. Have been have regular meet ups with some BB girls which is great, had a coffee with Laura(rainbow raver) and leanne(bun) today, its great to see them regularly, next weekend we have a girls night as its courtneys (pantswearer) birthday so we have planned a few drinks, i cant wait. Hamish is going great atm, he was off his food for awhile there but seems to be back on track now.
Bec - you poor thing, i hate the sickness with pregnancy as there is not much that can make you feel better, i hope it only last a few more weeks for you. Hamish has cows milk but only a night bottle now about 200ml, he has milk in his cereal and in a sippy cup during the day.
NaNa - i can understand you thinking of moving back to qld the weather here is just terrible atm.
Girl - Hamish also has 2 naps during the day, i think it is good as i get more time to do things and he is much happier after sleeping.
Sass - Hamish also growls all the time and needs constant stimulation, and omg he loves being outside, screams like there is no tomorrow when i bring him back inside, stands at the back door pounding on it. I am also not on the pill atm, i found i was putting on too much weight and getting migraines etc from it.
Hi to everyone else, will try pop in more often

Hi everyone! Sorry, been MIA lately too. Busy pa(ni)cking to go away again! Hopefully I will have more time to relax, and come back and re-read and post more often in the next two weeks as I'll have grandparents on hand to take care of MonstaBebe a bit. Also, hoping Aadi will chill out and stop throwing tantrums every 5 minutes and hitting me! *sigh* he's such a drama queen! Anyway, 2 weeks without DP, this is going to be interesting!
Hope everyone's great! Be back in a few days.

well jayda seems to be doing alot better. she had a few weeks of bad poos and waking all the time at night so i think it was just teeth.

hmmmmm...... oh DH roster changed we used to have fridays off together now he gets mondays and it really sucks. jayda and i get so bored. we used to always be out all day fri shopping or doing stuff now it seems liek so much effort to do things with just her and me.
I am tryin to decide if i should drag DH up to the toy sale on thurs night or go on fri. but there are a few things i want and i donthtink i can get them and handle jayda a the same time.
Most of the time we go shopping now she doesnt liek being in the pram or trolly she has to be walking. thats y it was os much easier when DH was with us he woudl wander behind wit her while i did wat i had to do.

hows everyone goign wit teeth? we still only haev the top 4 and bottom 2.

anyone thought about chrissy presents yet? i am gettin a few little things at the toy sale. i am gettin one of the wiggles cars that has the parent remote. my nephew got one last yr for chrissy and jayda loved it. i dont knwo if it will be for chrissy or if it will get put away for her bday cause MIL is gettin her a electic motorbike for chrissy.

ummmm wat else. anyone else still on formula? i went to go see our nurse at baby clinic last fri but he wasnt there so ill try this fri and see wat he thinks about jayda and the whole cows milk and formula thing.

we had DH's neices 1st bday on the weekend and omg they #@$% me so bad. no matter wat jayda did it wasnt a big deal and tryin to make out like she is stupid. i felt so sorry for her she go no attention. i know that they see jayda more but you could tell she was lookin at them like wat about me. it breaks my heart seeing it. thats enough about that i could go on for ages lol

we had a big talk and have decided that we will prob start tryin again after chrissy, not fully tryin but not stopping it. just DTD when ever not makin DH do it everytime i think it is right lol.

jess: have you got AF yet?

Nana: where r u packing for this time?

Bec: hope you feel better soon. Jayda is only having 1 bottle of formula at night now but she is only having about 100mls sometimes she will have more and other nights will only have liek 20 to 40 mls. if she didnt have it in a bottle she wouldnt drink it at all. cups/sippy cups are for sipping to her not for a big drink.

does anyone take much notice of how much water bubs r having during the day? jayda is having about 300mls in a sippy cup. i make sure the bottle is filled full of a moring and try to make usre thta over the day she drinks it all.

    Hi All,

Just a quick update from me/us...maybe...LOL!!

Cam is doing well - the HFMD thing hasn't really effected him too much - couple of blisters on his hands and knees and a bit of a rash around his groin, but otherwise all good. Still gotta take him back to the Dr's on Wednesday to get a clearance to go back to kindy though.

He is walking alot now too. Rarely gets down to crawl. This seems to have developed only over the last week - it happens so quickly hey. Up until now I hadn't really been putting shoes on him, only when we went out somewhere special, but the last few days has been wearing shoes daily. Today I put a new pair on, which were a little heavier then the last couple, and it was so funny to see him lifting his feet up and working out balance with them. I think he also likes the tap he makes in the kitchen floor, as he walked around in circles pretty much for about 15mins before - and when he wasn't walking he'd stand holding onto the fridge doing a little tap dance (I kinda captured it on the mobile, so will try to upload on facebook in the next few days).

He went well staying at Mum's on Friday night. Had good day sleeps and was fine during the night, only a little stir about 4am, but didn't need attending to. So this could become a regular thing, hehe. Actually we are already thinking we may do it again in about 3-4weeks so DH and I can go looking at new cars (need to get rid of my 2 door lancer - just don't think it'll work soon, can't imagine trying to squeeze into the back to buckle Cam in with a belly ).

As for teeth - he has 7 now, 4 up top and 3 (well 2.5 - the 3rd one cut through about 2weeks ago, but is about 1/2 way up). But I think the next is very close too - his scrotum is very red (though not sure if this is the HFMD or teething - possibly a mixture of both) and his cheeks have been rosy for the last week.

For christmas I think Cam's main present may end up being a big boy bed, as he will start to make his way into the other spare room for when bub#2 arrives - we will also need to put in cupboards and curtains and paint it for him - so that'll pretty much be his present I think. My original plan was to get him a swing set- but with bub#2 coming and being careful with $$$ - that might wait til his 2nd birthday.

As for bub#2 - I won't write too much in here, as I've also now joined the group for babies due 1-15th Feb 2010 - so I'll update most things in there - so if you'd like to know more thats where the info will be. But just quickly - I saw my OB today, he did a quick scan and as expected my due date has changed to 15th Feb (my date going by cycle was 6th Feb, but as I'd just finished BF a few weeks before, I knew it'd be out a week or so). All going well - heartbeat was strong - which was all I was anxious to see.

Well that is all from me for now - oh well, it was a medium sized post, .

    Hope you are all well.

    Bye for now

OK, I said I'd be back to re-read and post more often but it just hasn't worked out that way... Not having DP around to help out with our little routine has been difficult, and we've been having some hyperactivity issues that just eat up all my time. My step-dad gave Aadi strawberries on the weekend, and chocolate. I haven't given him those foods yet as I was convinced they would cause problems and was going to introduce/try them at a time when I could handle the outcome if it was bad. And it was BAD! Aadi has become aggressive (even more than before) and started headbutting and punching me and growling and being just an absolute pain in the bum. On Monday I had an appointment with a homeopath/herbalist friend of mine, and she pointed out that it could well be salicylates causing a lot of his issues, and to make some changes to his diet and see how it goes. Also got some remedies to help calm him down. I am so fed up with him hitting me and headbutting, so even though its going to be difficult, we're both going to have to go on an elimination diet for a while and go thru the challenge process. Considering how well we eat, it's quite hard to come to terms with it all. But a lot of it makes sense to me, and if it works as well as so many parents say then it's worth a try.
Anyway, tomorrow my mum is going into hospital for 4 or 5 days, so I'll be stuck on the farm most of the time, looking after Aadi and my mum's partner - he's an adult and perfectly capable of looking after himself, but my mum insists he needs supervision! So unless he takes Aadi for lots of walks and to play with the chooks I'm not going to have time to be back here until I get home again. Have to cook yummy food to take to my mum in hospital!
Hope you're all ok and getting thru the winter cold and flu season...

Have been so busy the last week! It's full on. Aadi has also just cut a top molar, and there's another top and bottom molar coming up on the other side. So we're up to ten teeth now. He's running everywhere now, and is getting lots of practise walking up and down the hills here. He's also decided to start going to bed and reading books when he's tired now - YAY!! He's waking up once thru the night at 2 still, which is just habit, but then getting up at 5.30ish and biting me and playing around until I get up and play with him and let him run around.
We're going home to Melbourne tomorrow night, so that's going to be another interesting challenge... back to our cold little house and no chooks to play with! Aadi loves the chooks here. He misses his papa lots tho, but has been having a great time with his grandparents.
