Blessedmum - great to hear your girls are doing so well. Damian's crying has improved the last few days as we bought him infants friend drops and they seem to be helping my poor little darling. Seems all that crying (besides some normal fussy periods) is because he has tummy pAin cos of his digestive system so he gets very gassy. It's improved but hasn't gone away.. It breaks my heart to see him cry and pull his legs up cod I know he is sore. No baby should have to feel pain!! but main thing is, we're getting better. He's having trouble staying asleep now actually cos he wakes up with tummy pain, but he is very tired. If only there was a miracle cure.

AFM... Damian is progressing really well! Wow, so many little developments in this first month! He has been making many more cooing noises the last few days.. His little voice is soo cute.. I love it when I get those little vocal moments with him. He's also holding his head up really well most of the time.. He's so strong! More alert time lately too, especially in the afternoon. He loves looking at bright colours and our faces close by. Just got to get used to taking him out, as every time we tried the car or pram he cried so we gave up. Maybe it's just something he needs to get used to? Well, finally got the Chrissy tree up today which I'm happy about! And have chosen godparents for his christening which I've made for early January when he's 2 months old. Just doing it small and simple.

That is good to hear Kat. I am really hoping Flynn improves so much in the next week and your get your Christmas wish for him to be home. I hope your keeping strong too and are managing your PND as best your can.

Danni, I like the infants friend drops, Macey does not like the taste much though (Amelia loved it). I know what you mean about hearing them cry, Macey is not a cryer but when she has wind she lets out a few sharp cries. I LOVE the early cooing noises too. I also can not wait to get a big smile, at the moment all I get is wind smiles but they are cute too.

Blondie, I hope your nipples are getting better. There is nothing worse then knowing that it is going to really hurt everytime your baby latches on. Like Ella said breastmilk is the best for it.
I just posted a thread about how good I think breastmilk is. Macey broke out in little red pimples and I have been putting BM on it and it is clearing it up quickly. I have gotten a few responses on what else it is good for.

So has anyone got their Santa photos done yet. I will get mine done this Saturday. Our local shopping mall has a Santa there and you take your own photo so it is free. I am going to try this and see if I get a good shot, if not I will go somewhere and pay for one. I have lovely matching dresses for the girls, I can't wait. So far Amelia has loved seeing Santa so hoping she wants to sit on his lap.

Congratulations Kat on taking Flynn home

You get your little guy with you for Christmas. How great (I like reading the bellybuddies due threads) I was so happy for you when I saw your post in there.

Hope everyone else is doing well. We are doing great still. Macey sleeps 6-7 hours at night now so absolutely loving that. Still can not believe it has been a month already.

Oh lol thanks sorry I forgot to post it in here lol
Flynn is home and doing well. Had the nurse visit today and when she weighed him she said he lost 50 grams and rung the hospital and his doctor is concerned so now I have to keep a record of what he is having and how often and so on. I dont really get it its a big transition for him to be home and he's been more active so I guess its not surprising but I am following their rules still (as frustrating as it is). I am loving having him home though I even got most of my xmas stuff done AND managed to get a heap of cleaning done before the nurse got here this morning

    Hi Mummys.

Hope you are all doing well..

Firstly wantd to start by saying a big thank you for all your support!! It means the world to me..

Congratulations Kat for taking baby Flynn home!! Sounds like you are doing heaps and doing really well.. You have been through so much to get to this point and you should be so proud of yourself.. Wonder Mum..

Blessedmum, My sister use to dress her girls matching too.. They always looked so cute.. We are going on Sunday to have Santa photos done.. I just picked up Peter's outfit today. The pasted 2 years Ireni has been scared of Santa and at her christmas party last Thursday she was scared of him... But she tells me she is going to sit on his lap for her photo and tell him her christmas wishs.

Danni, I had the same problem with Ireni and now with Peter. Infants friend is a mothers best friend.. lol My nurse told me to give it to him in the morning, afternoon and when he wakes for his 7pm feed.. So far so good. When he wakes in the morning we have a 20min gas release time. lol but after that he smiles and is really happy.. Sometimes he goes back to sleep.

As for the car and pram, maybe just stick him in the pram and go for walk up the road. He will either go to sleep, settle or get over it.. lol

Ella, Peter use to cluster feed too.. He did it for a week or two but thats when he put on 500gs a week. Hopefully Leo is just growing and he will settle on his feeds.

Blondie Im off in a second to read your birth story... I started mine 6 weeks ago and never finished.

afm, well Im having a good day today. DH put his back out at work so anything little help I was getting is gone. I spoke with my sil and realised that I have to get on with my life and do my own thing. Either he is apart of it or not.. My focus is on my kids, me, my family and my home - in that order.. I havent really spoken to DH for the last week, he said I'm moody every day but oh well.. His problem.. lol

Turns out my mil has hit depression and the doc up'd her meds.. She seems better and much nicer.

I saw my doc this week, spoke about DH meds and treatments. So I have a new path for him in the new year. He said not to forget between the hormones, breast feeding and the lack of sleep can contribute to pnd. I asked for bloods to be done to test my iron levels. He told me to get dressed up, hair and make up and start going out for coffee with friends once a week. I have to remember my house work will always be there but my children are only little once..

as for bubs.. He is a dream little boy, he has sort of got into his own routine. Feeds at 7ish and sleeps until 11ish then wakes around 2ish and then again around 5ish.

Ireni is getting better too, small steps very small steps. She is back to chucking tantriums, she over loves her brother so we are still working on that. I have extra activities for her to do and I try to sit down with her now and do them too..

Ok Im off to read blondies birth story..

take care ladies and hopefully I will be in here more often..

Eng, Good job on deciding to look after yourself and live your life. If Dh can't see what he will miss by not joining in then he has no one to blame but himself. We had MIL 60th birthday the other week and just putting on some nice clothes and make-up (don't normally wear any) made me feel so good so I highly recommend giving that a try. How did your santa photo go? I got my first santa photo in over 15 years because Amelia did not want to sit with him.

Kat, how has Flynn been at home. Have you both settled in together. I bet you are so happy.

AFM, Macey is so good to her mummy. She sleeps for 7+ hours at night now. Yippee for me. I just can not believe how quickly the time is going. I am really looking forward Christmas and seeing my family.

I hope everyone is going good. Everyone must be busy with their bubs and getting ready for Christmas.

Hello ladies something is up with my laptop and it wont connect to the forum seciton

Any way we had Isabelles tongue snipped last week and she is feeding so much better with the bottle and all the family have commented on how more settled she is and also that she seems to be really enjoying her new freedom with the tongue. Turns out it was quite severely tied and the specialist said good on my friend and us for following up on it rather than waiting till she should be speaking. Unfortunately she has gone on to flat out refuse the breast but I still try and offer it to her and expressing milk and taking the medication but not having much luck with it all. I think we have descided that this is the last week of trying and will return the pump at the end of the week and just move on and accept the bottle. DP told me last night he was OK with it as he knows I have really tried and also he enjoys being able to give her a bottle.

We are going away for 3 weeks but have only got plans for the 1st week. My partner really wants to go to fraser island but I am reluctant.

He's doing really well feeding and sleeping lol. He does have some awake time (mostly at night lol) and he seems ok with floor and tummy time (DD used to scream!!!). He slept from 2.30am till 8.30am this morning so that was nice for me lol

Ur really lucky Macey is so good through the night Flynn still wakes for feeding but I am ok with that

Have a good time away Heidi. I bottle feed too so ur not alone

AFM Flynn is doing well and will be weighed again on Thursday. He is on formula now as my milk dried us due to not having enough time to express it.
I am almost ready for xmas I just need to get some wrapping paper and start wrapping!!

I hope everyone has a GREAT Xmas!!!!!

Heidi, have fun on your trip. I hope you find some wonderful places to visit. I am glad to hear you have Isabell settled now and her problem all fixed.

Kat, I have been lucky with both my girls. It is good to hear Flynn is doing so well at home.

Well, I thought I was ready for christmas but have to go fight my way in the shops for a few last minute things DH has just worked 20 days straight and spent the evenings all this week putting together the girls playcentre for tomorrow so I have done all the shopping and he only just asks me to get a few things. If he had not of been working so hard I would be really ****ty.
Macey is still wonderful, sleeps through the night now. Amelia still loves her to bits. It is so cute, Amelia gets really worried when Macey starts crying and is always the first to see whats wrong. Melts my heart everytime. Oh and Macey gave me lots of big smiles this morning so I just got my best Christmas present.

    Merry Christmas everyone!
I hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow.

Well looks like I am writing to myself now.

Macey had her needles today. Poor bubba went blue from holding her breath when she was crying. She is back to her happy self now. Melts my heart everytime she smiles. She is now 4.8kg and 57.5cm long but still has a tiny head.

So I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year.

Blessedmum Hello I am here!!!!!! LOL things just get so hectic it's hard to get any time to myself sometimes. But it is a shame to see the thread is sort of dying!!! Come on girls... where are you!? LOL Having a baby is a super busy job

I hope you all had a lovely First Christmas with your gorgeous babies & are enjoying the holidays. Anyone doing anything with their bubs on New Years? Well, we can't think of anything good for our little guy so I think we'll just be staying home!

YAY DH & I have figured a way to be able to go to the shops or out for a few hours without bub getting so upset by being in the pram... A sling/bjorn!! Woohoo it's great... he'll even fall asleep in it. Felt good to be able to final get out for a cry free few hours with bub! He loves the close contact with us so I don't mind cos I love it too!
Getting lots more awake & interactive time which is great. Loves looking at dangling toys & OMG I LOVE HIS SMILES!!! Ahhh they make me soooo happy. The bond I feel with my little boy is just out of this world! There is nothing more important than him in my life.

Seems like your little one has grown a lot Blessedmum! That's probably normal though lol can't wait to get Damian weighed! He's a big boy that's for sure!!! That's good to hear she's OK after her needles... wow that sounds terrible! Not looking forward to getting Damian's done. How has she been? Still sleeping through the night I bet! Damian gave us 7 hours for the 1st time last night!!!! Wish I went to bed when he did! Has Macey hit any little milestones yet? I hear you about the smiling omg it's my favourite thing in the world I got some gorgeous ones starting the day before Christmas too! They're so pure aren't they!

Talking about immunisations... is everyone getting all of the recommended? Or are some not getting any or choosing specific ones???? I'm intruiged as I do have my concerns....

Danni, Good news that you have found a solution to the going out problem. Slings and harnesses are great. I use mine whenever I go out with both girls and I love having Macey right up close. I am getting all the vacines done for Macey, I got them all for Amelia and have had no problems. Did you find somewhere to go for New years. We do the same thing every year. A friend of ours always has us and a few friends over. Most of us have babies so the house gets filled up with portacots. It is also my beast friends birthday so it is always more a birthday party. I also asked her to be godmother. She was super happy. Now to start planning the Christening.
Macey is a wonderful sleeper still. Most nights her last feed is around 9pm, I put her down around 10pm and she sleeps till 6:30 - 7am. She is awake a lot during the day though but she seems to love watching Amelia so that keeps her happy.

Hubba, Bubs always have the perfect timing, I swear Macey wakes up when I have just made Breaky, lunch or dinner on purpose. I hope you had a lovely new years too.

    Hi Ladies..

Hope you are all keeping well.. Sorry for being MIA.. Just been super busy and cant really find time to get on. DD is still acting out and cant be left alone with DS. DH has been on holidays, things have improved and he is starting to pull his weight.. I still have to do some yelling to get him moving at times..

There has been a few changes around here.. Baby P has had a name change from Peter to Panayiotis.. I know I know... But its the greek way of saying Peter and its actually my dads real name.. How to say it??? Pana - yot- i. So baby P has been doing really well.. Last week we had our ped check up, he has grown 10cm and as of last week was 64cm, and weighs 6.25kgs.. Dont know where the last 10 weeks went.. Baby P sleeps from 7 to 12:30ish and wakes about around 4ish.. and again around 8ish.. but the best part is DD isnt waking at 6 anymore she sleeps in until 7:30.. yay for mummy getting some sleep!!

Got a brilliant present today!! AF!! stupid thing!! It has to be the worst AF ever! Its painful and heavy.. love it!! Ok better got DS is sucking his hand again..

Question.. Does your breast milk get weaker when your have af?? Cos this little boy was having 30mins to 45mins feeds from 2pm until 8...

Happy 2011 ladies... I shall be back more often this year.. hehe

Eng, I don't know about weaker but I was told it can change in flavour. I got my AF at 4months after having Amelia and I remember her going a fussy at the boob but only for a day or two.
Thanks for putting in how to say P's name, it looks hard until you actually see it spelt out like that. He sure has grown, 10 weeks wow. Macey is still small I think, I have only just moved up to 000's and some 0000's still fit her.
I am happy to hear DH has joined you in taking care of the kids. I hope he keeps it up.
Oh that baby timing Macey just woke up.

    Hey Everyone!

I am so sorry that I have been MIA the last few weeks - Aidan is keeping me flat out.

    Family update:
Well Aidan had his injections today - OMG the crying the the tears (real tears!!) poor darling - my heart was breaking for him!
He is also gaining weight steadily and looking really good! He was 5.1kg's today. I can't wait for him to chunk up! But at the same time I am cherishing him while he is still so young

I am still feeding him breast milk but not from my breast. I was finding that while feeding him I was getting really annoyed and anxious about things - and found the him chomping on my nipple for 40 mins at a time increasingly frustrating so I have been expressing my Milk and have been giving him the bottle. He seems to be ok with this so I will continue along this path until I start weaning him at 5 months (have to go back to work at 6 months) I see that some of you ladies are doing the same thing but all for various reasons. I just want to say Good on you all!

Apart from feeding issues at the beginning Aidan is a very good baby and I am SO in love with him!

I hope you are all going well, I will endeavor to check our group more often so that I don't miss anything!

    Hi Ladies,

I'd like to join your group if that's okay!
My little man Toby was born on the 13th of November. Time is flying by, I can't believe he is nearly 8 weeks already. All is going pretty good, we have our good and bad days! I'm breastfeeding and it's going well, but I do find like you blondie that he can feed for a long time and gets crabby at me sometimes when he empties one side and starts pulling at my nipple ouch.

My mum asked me yesterday if I was giving him any boiled water? Does anyone else do this?

Smekko - yes I give Aidan boiled water if I know that he is just fussing and not actually hungry. You have to be a bit careful with it though - only give it to Toby if you are sure that he has had a decent feed, for example...Aidan had 140mils of EBM (so I know that he had plenty!) and then less then 1 hour later was crying for food. So I gave him some water and he settled himself and woke again 2 hours later for his usual feed. Sometimes babies will have a time of day where they are really really hungry that is normal. If they are in a routine the boiled water just tides them over until their usual feed time - its also good if they seem windy - Aidan gets the hiccups all the time and I find that boiled water helps with that too!
