Hollye - i am a bit worried about her not pooing - since she is drinking heaps!
she has about 80-100mls every 3-4hrs - gets a bit more hungrier in her witching hrs in the morning! im using AVENT bottles - she gets burped afterwards and usually has a burp or 2! And nope she is definatly not co-sleeping with DH and i - she is in her own cot and has been since we brought her home from the hospital!
all day today she has been fine - but come 1800 - she no longer is!
This really is all my fault cause i cant breast feed! i know it is!

More so i can get some sleep.. she stays asleep when next to me and DP, i actually have to wake her! lol

HJ sweety it's not your fault at all. Babies have a certain time at day/night were you won't be able to settle them and I know it's distressing for you as you think you should be able to calm them but they will get better with time, it's hard been a mummy but as the saying goes "this too shall pass" and it will hunny, just give it time. As for the clots, if they are as big as your palm then I would be going and seeing the dr/or hospital as you may have some retained palcenta. Big

    hugs xoxo

Hi all, sorry I've been MIA but I'm sure you understand

Jeff and I spent 5 lovely days hiding in a private room in the hospital with almost no visitors. Something you can only do with the first child so we took full advantage. It was really lovely.

Things are going really well here now we're home too. Katie is breastfeeding well, she sleeps quite a lot most nights, and only screams for a couple of hours each evening, well before midnight (and one night not at all and last night only for about half an hour). Unfortunately daddy usually gets that shift so that I can get a nap in before the potential all-nighter, and daddy can't stand the screaming, I think it's something to do with the way men's ears work, it just pierces through his head he says...but he does it anyway.

I'm not getting very organised yet, I just don't seem to be able to slot stuff in between feeds, I'm not very good at being reactive, I'm used to being able to plan my time. Thank goodness my mum is here, she's getting me into a routine and reminds me to got bed for a nap during the day as well.

I'm afraid that there's no chance that I'll catch up with what's been happening with everyone over the last 9 days, so I hope that everyone is enjoying their darling little ones...even though my quick skim showed that some of you have had some bother...I guess we'll all get used to that...I'm dreading the first fever I must say.

At some stage I'll get my birth story up, but for anyone who wants a peak there's a photo of Katie in my gallery.

Take care all, I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still here and thinking of you all.
