We also do a big vegie cook up and freeze them too. The first batch I did when we started solids we used the ice cube trays too - that way I could do single vegies to start with. Now that he's had a few different kinds I don't even do that. I've got a whole heap of those First Years 'Take or Toss' containers (you get them at Big W etc) and I cook the vegies up, mash them all together (he has progressed to pretty coarse/lumpy mash already, we skipped the puree/rice cereal phase and he's done fine) and then spoon them in meal sized portions into the containers. Cool them in the fridge and then pop them in the freezer. I did some yesterday and he now has dinner ready to go for the next 10 nights. I did the same with DD and it saves so much time and money. I will never understand why people use only the stuff in jars (no offence to anyone who does!). Once he's had meat, pasta, rice etc i'll add these to the mix and freeze them too. I make an awesome baby tuna mornay! LOL. DD loved it! Just have to remember what I put in it now...Going to start him on finger foods (probably just soft vegies) after 7 months. He is already grabbing the spoon off me and shoving it in his gob so going to see how he goes.
Sleep improving here again now that he's cut his two bottom teeth. Days back to normal - self settling (most of the time without his dummy - woot!) and sleeping for 1.5 - 2 hours (currently at 2 hrs 20 mins and counting!), having one nap in the morning, one in the afternoon. Last night he did a 5.5 hour stretch and today I feel like a new woman!!
Eeeeeep! I just looked at our tickers Trish - I can't believe our babies are nearly 7 months!!!![]()
