Kell-OMG not long now, how exciting! We just celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on the 5th so all this wedding talk is making me reminisce. Hope it is an awesome day, I'm sure it will be.
Nic- I understand your reluctance re the imunisations. Emily had hers last thursday...it was pretty awful. SHe wasn't sick or anything afterwards but she howled when he jabbed her and for ages afterwards!
Pam- that is great news! A huge relief.
Kerry- I'm so glad Matthew got to see his father. Hopefully it can happen more frequently.
Donna- you have done a great job to get to 10 weeks with all the dramas. You do what you feel is right. Have you posted in the BF problems and support thread, you might get some good advice over there...not that you wouldn't get it here :-)
Banx- good to see you here.
Well my Aunt went back to Adelaide on Friday which was really sad. I miss her lots. It was so nice to have her here. It brought up a lot of mother issues which I had a good chat to the psychologist about. Its almost like grieving for the mother I lost and the step mother who wasn't so great.
My blockage has cleared so I was happy about that.
I asked my GP about the swelling in my feet I'm still getting and he has said my veins may have been damaged by the pregnancy. He's doing some blood tests so see. I so don't want it to never go away, its awful. I have cankles all the time.
Thanks Kell for sending me the link its nice to finally have the courage to get back in here and get back in contact with you all - sorry my bad for dropping off the face of the earth for a little bit
now I have found you all I will be sure to pop in more often. Hope you're all well and bubbies are behaving - as much as bubbies do
Anyways I have around 181 posts to catch up on so best start reading
Hi all. Not much going on here. The weather has turned a little on the cool side so Bella is totally enjoying snuggling and sleeping *yeee haaa*.
Nae - so nice to see u and get yr pm - I have sent u one just now. xx
eej - , I am so protesting this immunistation thing now - I just hate when Arabella sobs. She has only just started to cry real tears now and it's so distressing.
Kell - wooooo, u will be a Mrs soon, how exciting. Love the pic's u put up.
Donna - Do what u feel is best matey, like u said, 10 weeks is a damned great effort. I have been giving Bella a couple of bottles of formula each day. Not cause I'm sore or anything, it's more that she gets fidgety and fussy on the boob cause of the reflux. Yr doing a super job.
Hi girls,
Kerry sad for you hunhard now that you mum has gone, definately hard being a single mum, hopefully DP will find some more time to drop in now that he has been for the first time,...... fingers crossed that Matthew will be on his mind OFTEN, which I am sure he will.
Kell, how you fit everything in is amazing, have a great week leading up to your wedding.
eej, aunt leaving sounds very difficult, glad you were able to talk to your physcologist about it, finding a good one can be very hard...Good luck with the cankles, I hope they just go (go on just run away, shoooo
Captain, the decision is very hard, but I always think if you are feeling miserable is it worth it???? Maybe give it a few more days/weeks and see if you still feel the same??? Or maybe give yourself a break and try a bottle a couple of times a day, your milk supply should be well established now, if you skip a feed here and there it should'nt matter too much as long as they are'nt straight after each other.
Sue,immunisations are due in our house as wellhad a talk to the maternal health nurse about delaying them, she has talked me into having them done.... Hate the crying!!!!!for any reason and especially for one that I inflicted on her..
Indie, very glad that things are looking up for your family.... I am absolutely sure it strengthens any bond and your mum and dad are going to really treasure little Molly.
Hear you on little eyes lighting up, Poppy is the same, my dad commented the other day that she is looking more and more like me, i think it's mor eabout the twinkle in her eyes when she smiles, often a crooked little one, sooooooo cuteee!!!
Hi Banx, there are a lot of girls missing in action, very hard to find the time to get on, sometimes I just have to sit down and find it, definately keeps me sane. People think I'm nuts i talk about you girls often, in everyday conversation, most people don't undersatnd???
Anyway must go baby girl has woken up after a long sleep and a missed feed, so best I go and reward the little treasure
H everyone,
Hope you all remember me.
I've been gone for a while but I've kept up my drama filled life and had to move after a major disagreement with my sister, and the place I was temporarily staying at didn't have internet access. I'm settled now (for a while) and decided to see how everyone was going.
Emmerson was diagnosed with severe reflux at 2 weeks, when she had only regained 10 grams of her discharge weight. I was sure that everyone was looking at me and thinking I wasn't feeding her, and after yet another feed when she didn't keep down hardly anything I took her up to Princess Margaret Children's Hospital (when all the doctors were booked for the next 4 days), and by the end of the day I had my diagnosis and felt vindicated that it wasn't my fault.
Anyway, Emme's crying again but she's wonderful and only has a bottle once during the night!
Will post her weight & length when I get it checked tomorrow!
Hope everyone's great
Natalie, Bella & Emme!
Hi everyone, just a quick one from me (again). Poor Ashlyn is just getting over a stomach bug. Poor thing spent the last 2 days crying, and she doesn't normally cry. Had some really icky nappies last night and now she is sleeping happily. I'm exhausted from no sleep, so hopefully tonight we get a nice long one, (I live in hope, lol!)
Back from getting Emme weighed and measured at the local chemist. She's now 5.04 kgs, 58cms long with a 38.4 cm head! She's been really sooky lately, wanting to be held all the time. She offered to do Bella as well and she's only gained 2 kgs in the last year ( now 11.8kgs) but has grown 8.5 cms ( now 89 cms).
Still getting settled and reading all the previous posts. Laughed when Kell mentioned the Bonds Easysuits as I had the same reaction - Easysuit my foot, I almost broke Emme's bones trying to put her in one, and nearly everyone I know has said the same.
Oh and at the doctor's appointment he said the symptoms of carpal tinnel syndrome that I had experienced during my pregnancy had progressed as I now can't open jars or bottles without my wrist painfully giving way. So I'm being sent off for tests to see how bad it is so they can assess how high on the waiting list for the operation I'll be.
Emme is getting really heavy (I'm writing this 1 handed) so I'll sign off now and be back (hopefully) tomorrow!
I havent been on in ages and im so glad to see every one is still here and doing the best we can
I have been having a drama filled eventful few week we have been so busy trying to find a new house again our friends have let us down badly its been horrible I wrote a thread on it Ild be here for ever explaining it all. finger crossed we might have a house sorted we should know in the next few days I hope. its only a short term let as we have deided to go home earlier than planned.
Pam are you ok.
Naenae great to see you here
And every one else ((((hugs))))
Eireann is doing really well and getting big so in love with her she is starting to laugh and try and talk I love when she wakes up in the morning with a beautiful smile
Hi all, sorry i have not been around much, been super busy with the kids. With playgroups, ABA meeting, move2music classes, swimming lessons, housework, lactating, settling blah blah blah there just doesnt seem to be enough hours in the day to even fart.
Nath is doing wonderfully, just had him weighed and the little fatty is already 6.1 kilos! Yay nath, he is sleeping through the night on occasions - maybe 4 times in his wee little life! but its beautiful anyway.
Breast feeding is going smoothly, we do have a supply issues, but are sorting that out at the moment, and still going strong. Still exclusively breast freeding, not at the point where we have to top up with EBM or Formula.
How is everyone going anyway? i have missed you all terribly!
Haven't been in a while as I just can't find the time like mummatotwo.
Things are going well, I've become obsessed with my weight now that i'm starting to slow down on the EBM, have 2 weeks before I start to give it up fully however we do that. I thought about all the diet companies like WW but I don't want to pay so much money for it, might spend it on getting some healthy lunches. I've decided to calorie count as my diet & so far it's good, with working out 30 mins every weekday whilst Madeleine has a nap time & trying to walk 10,000 steps but not always acheiving the walking.
Madeleine is well, she had her immunisations today & cried so much with the oral that by the time the two needles came well, lets say she had a fit.... poor thing I felt horrible.
She's started sleeping through the night for about 9 -10 hours, it's so great but she's got this habit of grizzling for her dummy quite a bit that lasts for about 30 mins as she spits it & grizzles then falls back into a deep sleep. I think she's wanting a feed in that time but she wont wake up, we've tried to feed her but she falls asleep after a few sucks. Shouldn't complain as i'm getting so decent rest.
In terms of weight, we don't get weighed again until she's 4 months, but she's getting two long for her 000's & shes got a really nice fatty baby body.
Niamh, sorry to hear what your friends have put you through, it's a terrible thing.
Calebsmum, good luck with your wedding how wonderful it's come up so quickly.
Captain sorry to hear ashlyn has been sick, hope she's better soon.
Nat, sorry to hear about the RSI, my mother had it & it's such a terrible thing to have as the simple things become so difficult. good luck with your tests
Sorry if I missed ppl, gotta run storms coming & gotta get in my washing
Matthew had his needles this morning and was okay until now, apart from the screaming at the actual time of injections. But he just woke up and began screaming. Inconsolably. It's been horrible. I tried to feed him. Still screamed. Have given him some baby Panadol and half an hour of screaming later, he's fallen asleep in my arms. Poor darling.
kerry - under complete protest, I got Bella's needles yesterday .... she screamed and df and I were both almost bawling. She calmed down and had a sleep and then woke up screaming and I couldn't calm her. When she did go down she slept for over 8 hrs - it was bliss. She is a bit grizzly today.
cj - I am so needing to shed the pounds, it's so damned hot here and holding the baby is not helping - it's so uncomfortable. I've done ww and light and easy before and lost heaps of weight with both. I really need to walk but the magpie's are out atm so stuff that.
mummatotwo - holy crap, 6.1 kg's, Bella is 4.8, and that is enough to break my back if I have been holding her too long. lol.. my you sound so busy, dont know how you do it.
niamh - oh no, what a pita to have to move again. I cant believe your friends doing this to you. gee, I hope I get to meet you before you head back home again.
natb - Bella isn't too far off emme's weight and I feel like she weighs a ton some days when she gets really clingy. df held her for about 15 minutes the other day and just couldn't hack it, now he knows what I go through every day.
captain - oh no, how is Ashlyn today? hope you both have been getting some well deserved rest.
Pam - ugggghhh, the needles were bloody awful. I cant believe how many they get these days. when my kids were born they only got the one jab, now they get 2 at 2,4 and 6 months and 3 at 12 months WTF. I'd like to see them get them into bella for the 12 month one's PML...
Kelli - Wishing you all the very best for your wedding on sunday. enjoy your day and I cant wait to see some pic;'s, I am sure you will look stunning. xxx
Eireann was like that after her injections had to give her a bit of panadol and she had two little lumps on her legs from them as well they are nearly gone now.
Yea its awful ive had many a sleepless night lately worring about what we were going to do. I rang the rental tribuncy and I feel better knowing what rights we have. they havent gone down the proper channels in any thing to do with the house. they just told us on less we paid them rent for september (thier previouse tenants left in september and they are down a months rent we were minding their house and didn't move in on till the 9th of October) a bond which they said we could pay off by week on top of the rent so basically they wants us out by the 31 of October but we managed to get a bit longer but now they are piling the pressure for us to get out what hurts the most is its all right for us to be living in the house when it needs a load of work the fly screen need fixing , there is mold all over the ceiling that we had to buy stuff and remove most of it the pool went green after the electricity was turned off before we moved in. yet we are being told we need to get a pool guy in. the estate agent looking after the house rang last Friday and left a message saying some one wanted to look at the house on Monday morning we rang back she never got back so on Monday morning she turned up to the house and was letting her self in with out our permission My DH was home and i was walking the boys to school. so mad over that treating us like crap, and that is not even the half of it
OK sorry i went off on one there only just after reading a email from then looking for more crap GRRRR
On a good note Eireann is such a pet and so goood im so lucky with her now
Nic ill be here till febuary have to try and get to one of the meet ups I dont drive my self or we should arrange a family one on a saturday LOL hope little Bellas feeling better after her injections I think Eireann is around the 6kg mark now
Pam how you doing
Kerry how are things with you hope your ok and you NatB ((((hugs)))))
Sue, it wouldn't take much to set me crying at the moment. Our poor babies. But the alternative doesn't bear thinking about. On the local news tonight there was a report that there's been an outbreak of whooping cough in the Riverina. I've given Matthew another dose of baby Panadol after checking his temperature, which was higher than normal. I'm so glad I bought one of those expensive digital ear thermometers, very quick and accurate. He's sleeping now in his bassinet but I'm keeping a very close eye on him. It's been an awful day, not just with the needles but it was 38 degrees this afternoon. And it's still about 29 degrees. We have ducted evaporative air conditioning, but it's not very effective at these high temps and when it's humid. We just had a storm go through, hasn't cooled things down really, just steamed them up.
Matthew was weighed quickly today before his jabs and his dressed weight is 6.29kg. He seems to be taking up more of the change table now and filling his bath. Pleased I took advice to get the biggest tub I could. I'll have to see about getting one of those chair things for the full size bath.
Has anyone else been getting really sharp pains in their feet when they get up in the morning? I googled it (as we do ) and I think it's from walking around all the time barefoot on a hard surface. I'm also going to have to start working on my abdominal muscles as my back's killing me when I carry Matthew for any length of time now.
Candy Jay, wow at Madeleine sleeping for 9-10 hours. I get anxious when Matthew sleeps for longer than five hours and feel the need to start monitoring his breathing. I worry so much! I think your healthy lunches and daily activity will have the weight falling off you. I'm losing weight still and I haven't begun any regular exercise yet. Will need to start though!
Mummatotwo, omg you do sound busy! Good for you that you're still powering on with the breast feeding. The expressing, bottle washing and sterilising is a pain. And it would be good to have the bottles at the right temperature instantly when Matthew demands to be fed!
Niamh, hope you find a new home soon. I'm going to have to start looking in the new year. I'm longing to be back on the coast again, where it's green and the rain falls.
NatB, glad to hear from you! I have been wondering how you're going. Ouch at the carpal tunnel syndrome!! Sounds like Emme's doing really well after her start with the severe reflux.
Pam, yes, I'm hoping to see more of Matthew's Dad now. I know that we're always on his mind! But I can't wait until we're together more often. Has Poppy had her needles yet? She sounds like such a darling, the way you describe her twinkling eyes and smile!
Good to hear from you, Nae! I check out your pictures on Facebook, lovely renos you're doing!
Eej, I still have some foot swelling. My ob said it will go away - eventually! Hope so!
Indie, ouch at the state of your nipples! You deserve a bloody great gold medal for going as long as you have! I'd be going to the bottle to give your breasts a rest at least. Hope Molly has recovered from her jabs!
Good to see you, Bianca! Cooper sounds a delight! And very advanced!
Captain, I started applying the Lansinoh and it worked wonders. Thank you!!
Must get started on the millions of jobs I have to do that I haven't got to today. Like emptying Matthew's bathtub from last night...
Kerry, glad the lansinoh worked for you. I went through tons of it in the first couple of weeks. I've been getting the sharp pains in only one foot. Def worse after I've been carrying Ashlyn around.
Sue, it sucks that your having to deal with that on top of having a new bub. I can't believe how horrible people can be sometimes.
CJ, well done on being able to exercise. We have a beautiful home gym but so far I haven't been able to finish a single work out. I'm just so hopeless with dieting that the only way I can lose weight is with exercise. Running is def out with my bbs ATM, lol.
Mummatotwo, I hear ya on the having no time! I'm dreading next year when kindy starts, another activity to add to the list.
Nat, Hope you get the carpel tunnel sorted out. It's so painful, I can't imagine still having it now.
Kell, all the best for Sunday. Can't wait to see the pictures!!
We had the needles done last week too. Luckily Ashlyn was due for a feed and I had a really good nurse. She did the needles so quick and then I put Ashlyn on the bb. Crying wasn't to bad and she had no marks. So at least that's over for a couple of months.
Sleeping has been pretty bad. I feel so jealous when I see people talking about 5 hrs sleep. I can't wait to get that much, lol. I'm trying to stay positive cause I know it wont last forever, but it can be hard sometimes. Thank God its the weekend and Danielle will bugging me to spend time at her Grandma's, it's the only time I can get some rest.
Well it's nearly time for Ashlyn to have a feed and then I can be off to bed. Heres hoping for a good nights sleep,
Hi all... Just a quickie, need to go and pick up DS from a sleepover party. Man it's so hot here. Bella is in the "arctic" bedroom - LOL, she still needs to be swaddled for her sleeps so I have the temp at near freezing so she can be rugged up. I dipped her toes in the pool again before and might attempt to get her in there this afternoon - she has freaked each time I try to get her in.
Kerry - Oh how good are the ear thermo's. DF nearly had a fit when I sent him off to pay for it at the chemist ROTFL.
captain - I left the needles so late that the next lot are due in about 6 weeks - will have to get myself phsyched up for that.
Niamh, I am fine!!!! I am of to see a specialist on Tuesday to see what is going to be done about the lumps???? Hope things work out re you living situation sometime soon.
Glad Eireann is doing so well, i imagine you are enjoying buying girly things.
Mummatwo hi, long time no see. I hear you on loads of activities we are out every morning and busier next year with kinder for DS. Nath is doing great, my little chubba is not far behind weight wise.
Candy, I feel the same about my weightreally need to get it under contol hate the fat feeling!!!! i weighed myself the other day and have manged to put on 2 kilos???? i guess it's all the junk I have been getting into lately, I am thinking I might do lite and easy for a couple of months....Great when the babies start sleeping through, Poppy has been for a couple of weeks, I keep holding my breath thinking it's going to change anyday
NatB nice to see you, sorry to hear bout all the unheaval in your life, glad both your gorgeous girls are doing so well.
Kerry, I am going next week to get Poppy's immunisations done, I have them done in the evening then they sleep through the worst of it!!! Well it's worked with the others, so fingers crossed. Matthew is doing great, glad your DP sounds like he is coming around, do you think co-habitating could be on the cards????
Nic, swimming pool sounds fantastic, I am sure as the weather gets hotter and Bella gets older she will start to love the water. Poppy still hates the bath, so I am sure she would freak out as well. i think it's more about she does'nt like the feeling of not being secure...she loves beng wrapped and in the pouch, and wakes herself all the time if she is'nt, very over the top startle relflex
Captain only a little bit longer to wait before Ashlyn starts sleeping through, they say 70% of babies sleep through at 4 months that is 8-10hours so even is she does'nt go that long I am sure she will go longer than she is now.
Hi to all the girls I missed hope you are all going okay
Had Poppy weighed yesterday she is 5.7kgs and is 59.5cm long and head is 39cm, chubby but looks in proportion, she issleeping really well, we try to do last feed at around 8.30ish then to bed around 9.30 she was sleeping to 3.00am but has extended to 5.30 then the last 2 nights to 6.30am she really is my dream baby, the others were much older before they would sleep through. She is starting to really conect with the other kids, today she was staring at Gabe and when he looked at her she gave him the best smiles, he is so proud of his baby sister, he tells everyone that will listen how cute she is... Sophie loves her heaps as well, but wants to squeeze her at every opportunity, I know the feeling I could bear hug her as well and spend my life kissing her at every opportunity.
Anyway off to try and catch up with some other girlies on here.
Just added some photos of the three little kidlets, that were taken last weekend.

Well today I'm sure someone has swapped my baby! She's been sleeping all day . She's had three good naps and only took half an hour of sitting with my hand on her tummy to fall asleep tonight.I'm quietly hoping that we have a good sleep tonight. She seems so happy!! (Me too!)
Pam, 10 hrs sleep sounds magical. I know we'll get there because Danielle was the worst sleeper in the world and I did manage to get her to sleep through at 7 months. You sound like you're totally in love with Poppy, man it's such an amazing feeling!!!
Sue, I do the same thing with making the room cold so I can rug Ashlyn up. I love making her feel or cosy for bed.
Ashlyn is really growing, she takes after her Daddy. Last weigh in at 9 wks she was 6.2kg, which puts her over the top line on the chart. I think people are suprised when I say she is fully bf. She's 58cm long, so is quiet chubby. So cute. I've been trying to guess what colour her eyes are and I think they may stay blue. Danielle's were so dark right from the beginning we never doubted they would be brown. Will be fun to find out.
