For some reason all the baby sleeping bag type things have high fire danger tags on them. Same as most kids pyjamas really. So long as they're not getting too close to any radiant heaters they should be fine though.

Well that was an awful night. No idea why but after sleepy feed at 11pm, Lilly woke at 1:30am hungry, so fed and then every hour or so after that with her uncomfortable cry. Between 1:30 - 6:30am she only got broken sleep (me too) and also spent an hour asleep on my shoulder when I passed out trying to burp her.
At 6:30am I managed to give her a feed and get her to sleep, but then at 8am big poop woke her up. She is in the swing now becuase I'm exhausted and just want her to rest. She is asleep now
Hopefully today is better.
aww LOL, the constant feeding could be a growth spurt! Z did the same thing yesterday! Kept eating and eating!
During the day she spends most of her asleep time in the swing!
I envy you girls and yr bubs pooping! Z isn't much of a pooper :| I like my girls to poop daily dammit! Don't get me wrong, she has only ever gone 2 days with no pooping. But other days she has a small lil poop and thats it. Then on other days she will have a substantial poop! I likey the substantial poops! (call me sick :P )
Harriett is learning to blow up balloons :| IT IS DRIVING ME CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY!
Hope yr breasticles are feeling better today Miss Mollie... sounds flippin painful!
Danni, Cranks, Jan, AM and Amanda, hope you girls are all going well ... and bubs are being perfect!
(still not getting email notifications dagnabbit!)
xx
I'm not getting them either Nikky, I even manually subscibed to the thread they just suddenly stopped.
LOL you can have my Lilly if you like? We got 4 poops yesturday! Her's bother her and interupt her sleep so I think less would be better haha
I too hope everyones babies are well.
Definitely sounds like a growth spurt Lol.
Alex is such a little boy already - has a limited tolerance for shopping. Chucks a paddy if he has to stay out shopping longer than that. So we came home, he had his shower and a poo and then was in bed by 8pm last night. Slept till midnight, had a feed, woke at 2am just wanting a cuddle then slept through till 6am. I swear if he keeps this up I'm going to have to put a towel down on my side of the bed as I'm waking up leaking.
awwwww Harriett just fed Zoe for the first time!
Will put some pics up later!
She was soooooooo proud!
Im not getting email either... But there was a thread a couple of days ago, there is something wrong with them at the moment.. So i dont think anyone is getting them!
i HATE my body at the moment.... Mastitis.. and now i have spotting for the 2nd time this month.. Last time it lasted for a day! WTH is going on with my body!
miss mollie, you JUST HAD A BABY!!! good ole hormones is WTH is wrong with yr body! expect it to last for the rest of yr life! (jk) but it will last for a while :) till everything sorts itself!
As for the mastitis, that one just sux the big one! Hope its easing for you xx
on a side note
THE CRICKET is FINALLY starting! yay
Hormones are a PITA! But Nikky is right, it's most likely what's causing the spotting etc. And making me leak like a sieve at the moment, even though I didn't have any problems with engorgement and leakage when my milk came in, I'm making up for it now. But it'll pass. It can take a few months for everything to settle back to normal, or the new post-baby normal at least.
Just got back from the CHN. Apparently bubs is doing well. Said we are doing the right things with settling. Just to keep trying. Still feeling really down about BreastFeeding. CHN couldnt explain what was happening with bubs being so Colicy on the BM. I dont think they really know. I don't think she really believed me when I said after I changed to full formula her symptoms setteled down. Husband says I'm too hard on myself but I still feel like a Failure.
Least I know she is happier on the formula. I am struggling to move past it emotionally, logically it makes sense to me. CHN said while BF Nutritionally superior some people just can't BF. Didnt really listen to all the troubles I had been having however, just said "so you have made your decision then" sigh. She also said it is important that if the BF is impacting the relationship negativley then you have to do what is best for both of you but it feels emotionally liek what is best for me not for her :S
The nurse told me to go back to demand feeding her so I will. I dont really know what I'm doing atm. Perhaps I'm just overwrought from no sleep.
Sorry for being a downer :(
Lolpigs I rang the aba last night because I was just so about the masitis and the lady just literally listened to me cry. And talked to me about how I was feeling. Maybe you could give them a call about how you are feeling.

CK, I had a couple of nights leaks when Levi started sleeping longer. I started wearing two thick breast pads over lapped in the middle. I used the johnsons ones (purple and white box). I had to get up and change the pads during the night.
Lolpigs this is the time when you need to listen to your mummy instincts and follow that. The nurses and all can give us as much support and advice as they can but each bub is different and you are the one that has spent the last 9 or so weeks with your baby and know what is best.

That assumes I wear a bra to bed. Too flipping hot at the moment and I can't stand wearing clothing to bed as a general rule. I looked at Alex's Gro-egg first thing this morning and it was still 27C in his room. Lucky he sleeps in our room of a night with the air-con. A towel will do for now I think, it should settle soon I hope.
Lol, Danni is absolutely 100% on the money. You're Lilly's mummy, you know her best and will get to know what works for her. If something stops working for a while (it'll happen now and then) move on to something else. Sometimes I think babies are a lesson in giving up control, as they're all little individuals and there's so much they do or don't do for reasons known only to them.
yep....what Dannii said!
Okay I have to share these pics...
Harriett fed Zoe for the first time today and she was soooo proud of herself!

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I know in my heart this is the right thing to do, she has no more gut pains, not more screaming fits, she is just a normal cheeky baby now. She even poos better! She used to have massive cramps and difficulties now its a grunt and a red face and its done. The difference really is boggling I really can't believe it after being told so much that breastfeeding is best. Dosent seem that way for my DD. I feel really sad at the loss of that relationship, but I also feel sad that I spent so much time trying to get it going I feel like I've wasted 8 weeks. I've had a heart to heart with my DH becuase he was concerned I might not be bonding with bubs as well as I could becuase of it and seeing me cry alot, and I'm just going to focus on making her as happy as I can... and enjoy patting her butt when she wont go to sleep.. my god she needs some persuasion during the day to get some shut eye!
The nurse told me I was doing all the right things settling wise, and to persist for another 4-6 weeks and if it still isnt working I should get some assistance from Tressilian or Karitane. I have a friend from work coming to visit me who said she would help me out with settling to see if she can see anything at all.
CK I think your right about the control thing it really has been a hard and fast lesson on just letting go.
Harriet is adorable Nikky :) Your daughters have the most beautiful eyes.
Lol remember that if Lilly is feeling better, than you are doing the best for her, not you! If it were up to you, you would still be BF. With motherhood I think it helps to roll with the punches, not easy I know. I have had so many different opinions from nurses, some gave me a huge guilt trip about not BF, others were very understanding of what happened. Happy baby is the ultimate goal, right? Hugs
Nikky Im so jealous of all Miss Z's hair!! They are both ADORABLE!!!
Good grief Nikky, so much black hair!! And both of them really do have gorgeous eyes. Alex's eyes are gradually turning brown, but at the moment they're still sort of baby blue/brown.
naww thanks Jan :) I love their eyes as well! they get their eyelashes from daddy!
Mollie, that hair is ALLLLL thanks to my italian/french genes! hehe
Bwahahahahaahahahaha!
Alex hadn't pooed all day thus far, usually he's like clockwork with one around 9-10am, one before his afternoon sleep at around 3pm and another just before bed. Daddy got home from work and Alex was having a snuggle on his lap....and just did a really big squirty poo
Danni, she cluster feeds in the arvo sometimes, not always though... And I've started giving her a bath every night, wrapping her, feeding her then trying to settle- rocking/ patting/ etc etc... She just seems completely determined to stay awake and if she feels herself drifting to sleep she seems to force herself to wake up! Amazing really!!
Lolpigs, poor thing, I know it must be mentally very difficult to get past the BFding when people aren't supportive- but just remember, that nurse for example hasn't spent time with you and Lilly, and doesn't know what you went through and how much better she feels on formula.. Definitely hasn't been a waste, the last 8 weeks, Lilly wouldve got sooo many good nutrients and immunity from those 8 weeks! You are doing 100% the right thing by your baby by choosing the feeding method that makes her the happiest!!! Your being a fantastic mum and choosing your baby's happiness as a priority and that's the best thing you can do!
Thanks girls, I thought the same thing re trying to top her up with formula too- so I'm glad you shared my thoughts!!!
CK is it you who has the breeze baby sling? I bought one today- the instructions are really confusing!!!
Nikky awwwwwww your girls are so beautiful :) those eyelashes really are gorgeous!
Yeah the instructions in the pack aren't that flash - search youtube for some ring sling videos, much easier!
I'm getting hubby to move bubs cot into our room, I slept on her floor last night and found I've not been sleeping well since she hasnt been with me. Once she wakes from her day sleep I'll sort it. Already moved the bed and changed the sheets in preperation. :)
Hope everyone is having a good day! I've found miss lilly insists on dummy during the day but not at night, isnt that strange. Funny pet nothing will soothe her during the day except for sucking. When she wakes after 45mins now I just wait to see if she goes to sleep, and if not and starts to cry I go up and resettle. Makes SUCH a difference to her mood If I can get her another hour or so of sleep.
She seems to be getting better at her day sleeps, still waking but not as hard to resettle her. All that shush patting in the cot and stuff dosent work with her, she likes to suck to sleep. At night she will drift off on her own however, so I'm trying to get better at seeing her tired signs so I can put her to bed earlier.
Hmm I've noticed I'm very anxious and started to have an upset stomach alot and having a little difficulty getting to sleep. Hopefully it will pass soon? I think it is becuase of the stress of the last 8 weeks, suddenly it is all gone and my body is trying to process everything.
Lilly is an angel now, she had big sleeps today and moving her cot was the best thing ever becuase our room is alot darker, shes just had her baba (bottle) bath and now shes back in bed! Stopping the BF has been the best thing ever for her.
Now its time to try and destress and work on me I think. Hopefully it will just get better from now on.
Nikky your babies are booootiful!!!! Abby is my first baby with the almost black hair, my two boys had dark hair but not as dark. Abby I think is going to have blue eyes, there not changing colour and hubby has blue eyes where as mine are brown.
Abby is such a good lil munchkin she has spent a couple of hours playing on her playmat this morning plus about the last 45mins she has been kicking away too:). She had a few hours good sleep in the swing before lunch so I could get the house all cleaned and sorted. Funnily enough we are struggling with getting DS2 to sleep during the day ATM grrrrrrrr lil bugger!! Abby has been sleeping till between 7:30-8:30am each morning for the last three days, so we're down to only 5 feeds a day ATM - that's after her 10pm dreamfeed.
Just got my new baby/toddler recipe book ( annabel karmel's new and complete baby and toddler meal planner) it's great, bought it through mothers direct from the ABA online store. It has full introducing and weaning advice and goes through the nutrients baby needs from there food with over 200 recipes and a bit of a meal planner too:)

That book sounds good hun might have to check it out.
I like making my own baby food but always struggle with different combinations for bub so this is great. It goes into all the foods and when it's ok to introduce different things and for what reason. It's so darn hard finding a book of this quality in a book store for baby recipe's.
We are going away for about a month in April but it's about the time Abby would be starting to move to solids not quite sure what we'll do there TBH!!
Lolpigs so happy to hear you are doing better. It can be so hard at times being a mum and knowing what's the best path to take. A good friend of mine has often said to me it's what works for you that matters not what others say you should be doing.

Well DD is off with Grandma and Grandad to Albany for 2 weeks, then here for the weekend and by then it'll be nearly time for school to go back. Goodness time flies, I'm feeling a little mean by actually being happy to have a break for a bit from having to try and entertain her without letting her spend too much time in front of the TV.
Alex is cruising along, he's grabbing at his toys more reliably now and even starting to get hold of them and wave them about, he talks to them a lot too which is super cute. I'm planning on starting to go for walks with the pram after his morning feeds so I can lose a little weight and get fitter - though I bought some pants this morning which were a size smaller than before I fell pregnant, so go me!
Good to hear Lilly is settling better for you Lolpigs, as hard as it is seems she's quite a determined little miss.
Your DS2 is a bit over 3 isn't he Danni? Could he be ready to drop the day sleep, or is he really feral if he does?
ohhh I just ordered that from the book depository Dannii! thanks for that :)
yay LOL that she is sleeping better for you!!!
Now that she is sleeping, means you can sleep and you will def notice a change in how you are feeling! God knows when you don't sleep EVERYTHING is horrible!
So I hope you get lots of snooze time and start to feel better about everything gorgeous girl xxx
Well, the movies this morning with Harriett was amusing. The movie was horrid! but she LOVED getting up onto the stage part and dancing! I just let her go for it as there was only a couple of other people in the cinema hehe
So glad her dance lessons start soon! she has some moves on her! I bought her a lil black leotard and skirt today hehehe she look so darn cute in it! also bought Zoe a pair of swimmers as I wanna start swimming lessons/fun play with her in the next couple of weeks :)
Things are go go go atm!
Hope you are all going well :) xx
Heheheheh Nikky, my DD was pestering me to take her to see that one but I am refusing! Took her to see Puss in Boots instead, might go see Tintin with DH at some point. Sad to say, kids taste in movies doesn't really improve much until a lot later I think...
Your welcome Nikky :)
CK yeh I think he's ready to drop the daytime sleep much to my disapprovement LOL. He's been my shocking sleeper since a young baby, he's only started sleeping all night in the last 5ish months.
First full day using MCN's too and we didn't get any leaks hehehe.. I'm going huggies overnight cos they keep her dryer longer as she's been sleeping a good 10hrs at night the last few nights. Love the Itti bitti tutto's for ease of all snaps - you'll see what I mean when you get your's CK and I just chucked them all in the wash tonight when I pulled the last one off her for the day... Easy as!! I just had to pad them up by using all the soaker pads that way there were no gaps around her legs.

Hope everyone is doing well. I've also noticed she is a clean freak and will wake with wet or dirty nappies 30mins into a sleep cycle even if I put her down in a clean one. Hope that improves. I'm still on edge but I'm hoping that will disapate. When she cries I jump still I'm guessing that is becuase of the stress of the colic.
We had photo shoot for Abby this arvo but she was fairly cranky and tired the lil bugger, we'll see how they come up!!

Always the way isn't it? I'm hoping to get one done for Alex somewhere between 3-4 months or so as I think it's a really cute age. Though from the pic below, he's pretty darn cute already :)
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...heeky-alex.jpg
Ohhh he does have mischievous eyes Cranks!
Gorgeous xx
CK ta, I you tubed a video on the sling, way easier! Do you use cradle hold or tummy to tummy? Did it take a while of practicing before you felt comfortable with it? Hehehe Alex is so cute!!!! He looks like a really cheeky boy!! Hehe!!! Aww!
We have violet's vaccines today- soooo not looking forward to it...
Have discovered little miss isn't happy on your lap on the couch- she wants to be walked around the house!
We normally use tummy to tummy, though sometimes I put him in a kangaroo hold if I'm not fussed whether he sleeps or not, as he loves looking outwards. Did take a bit of practice to get comfortable with it though
Woahhhh
Soooo quite!
Hope everyone's okay
