Nicky: How did your appt go this morning? I've heard that six feeds in 24 is just fine, and I'm sure you'd know if Allira wasn't getting enough. How's her weight gain? I understand the second-guessing yourself, but there's no need to. It sounds like things are going really well and that she's a lovely, peaceful little soul.
Kat: Vent away, mate. S'what we're here for. Phoebe has only recently started making eye contact with me (she used to stare at my hair or just next to my head. Still does avoid my eyes sometimes). My theory is that Mum's eyes can 'say' too much at times. If Ivy tends to be a tired baby then it makes sense to me that eye contact would wear her out. Having said that, I'd probably be worried too if my baby wouldn't look at me at all - I don't think it is just your psych background. Like the others have said, talk to someone about it. Best to bounce ideas off a Dr or MCHN you trust than feel anxious for your baby. Its not easy, this gig.
Naomi: I know what you're talking about re the play pen thing. TBH I don't think we have room for one (plus finances are a bit tight). I am hoping that Natty will grow out of it and that the recent increase in violence is just because she's not feeling well... Fingers crossed anyway. Sounds like you got spoiled on your birthday - as you should! I loooooove freshly baked bread. Yum! YAY for getting more sleep
Vic: Glad you are starting to feel better. When did you send your form in? Our Medicare card took a little over a week to arrive, I think... I did ring Medicare cause I wasn't sure about one of the questions on the form and they answered straight away - practically no wait! So if that's anything to go by, giving them a call to check on things is pretty easy.
I fully intended to wait until Natty was 3 before we started trying for a second child, but things just changed. We are done now though. And if this last month has taught me anything, its that I don't want to go through this 'adjustment' period when Phoebe is a toddler, LOL! The other night I said to DH that if I start to get all obsessy about Phoebe's routines and naps and stuff in the coming months that he has to remind me how totally gorgeous she is and that she's our last baby. He promised and he started to say, 'hey, if you do decide in the future that you'd like another baby...' (by this time I was already shaking my head!) '... Well... You can't have one!' PMSL. It was a tender moment.

Natty is on ABs. Its not an ear infection but the Dr reckons the mucous build-up in her chest would be very uncomfortable and she could get an infection over the next couple of days. I'm not totally convinced that giving ABs in case of an infection is such a good idea, but by golly, if this works then we're all going to be much happier.
Phoebe's nose is so blocked, poor thing. I'm hoping she doesn't get Natty's cough as well.
Do any of the other babies have lots of saliva? Phoebe looks like she's frothing at the mouth sometimes, LOL! Natty dobs on her, says, 'Mummy - she's spitting!' It's hard to explain to a 2yo that babies don't have control over that stuff and no, that doesn't mean that you can spit!
Ok, better rescue DH - he's bathing her and I hear yet another tanty has started. *sigh* I've lost count of how many we've had today.
