Hannah, you're right to do what feels right with Amelia...I have to get one of those jolly jumpers methinks! Why is it that I can't stop buying stuff!!!!!!!????
Kanda, great to see you online! For sleeps, Eva wakes at 630/7 most days eats, stays up with us for a bit then heads back down to bed around 830/9 for about 1-2 hours. Then she gets up and eats and stays up until about 1/2 then sleeps anywhere between 1-3 hours, depending on the day...then gets up plays, feeds, bath, then plays then sleep around 7 for about 1/2-1 hour, then wakes up around 8 for a feed again then is out for the night around 930/10. This is amazing compared to how she used to only do little 20 minute catnaps all day and I am 100% sure that it is due to belly sleep. She sleeps exclusively on her belly even through the night. The formula has structured her days a bit more but it has only been a week and a half or so, so it is still in progress. When she was Bfing she would never nap for more than an hour with a rare 3 hour afternoon sleep but she did sleep through the night so I didn't care. (night being 930-530/6am). Good to hear you're being active. How is everything going with the PND?
Suz - yay for cRaig being so great at the potty training thing...Once he gets the hang of it enjoy the break before Ryan needs training Enjoy the vacation! Looking forward to seeing some pics of the boys and see how big they are getting!
Beany, that is what worries me - her hitting the dorr! She is already over ambitious hitting herself in the head and face constantly with her toys that I feel like she would fly off in a jolly jumper! lolol - those tantrums sound liek he is just getting angry at his limitations. Eva does not get really angry but she starts squealing high pitched squeals when she gets ****ed, like trying to tell me to come over and fix it! I sometimes just let her be and try to figure it out. And sometimes like with new toys, I take her hands and show her how to manipulate them etc...
For example, the other day she was in her little bouncy chair and the music shut off, so you have to pull a ring to operate it. She started squealing, and as she had never done it before, I put her hand in the ring and helped her pull a few times. Then I left her in it where she could not see me and she started squealling and when I did not show up she started staring at it and finally pulled the ring herself and was so happy and proud of herself! I taped it for DH, so maybe I'll post it to facebook, but I realized then that i need to be leaving her alone more, so I leave her to play alone in her playpen, bed or on her mat at least an hour a day (not one solid block, but a few short playtimes) - this also allows me to get a shower in! She likes her playtime now and just squeals at all her toys and is figuring them out quickly. But I always take lots of time with new toys before leaving her alone so that she does not get too mad not understanding them.
Tilda, I am sorry you had an awful day - we all have those T hen going home with a cranky bub just makes it worse...I'm glad DH understood
Rose, I think the belly sleep thing is a good idea for naptime, and once he is stronger try it for night sleeps. You won't believe the difference - To sleep I just put Eva down on her belly, she wometimes whines a bit but then just wiggles around and puts herself to sleep. I can't remember the last time I had to rock her to sleep (It was def when she did not tummy sleep since I had to rock her to sleep every time then try to put her down on her back when she would wake screaming etc....you get it
Wooooo, that was long.
Ok, so just a quick update - Eva is still doing great! She went from pooing once every two weeks without help to three poos a day now! She sleeps better and is generally happy and not cranky. I am in heaven. I feel no guilt anymore seeing how happy she is! She did have a gas fit today though because I did not have enough bottles and used another one (I use tommee tippee usually and she has no gas issues) and she made me pay for it this evening. She cried so much then had a feed, fell asleep close to the end of it and is passed out cold now.
Another very cool think, I went to the little gym, which is a gym for kids from 4months-12 years old with Eva yesterday - It was so cool! We rolled them on balls, stretched them in all directions, played with bells, balls, bubbles (she stared at those bubbles!!! I have to get her some for this summer) - and she had a big feed and slept for three hours, then bath then back to bed til morning - 45 minutes of action really tired them out, huh?
I am doing ok but my boobs hurt so bad - I am still working on weaning and stopped bf completely and am back on the pill and am going to see the doc soon for the rest of the stuff...I feel less hungry already and less tired in general - my skin is already starting to clear up and I have more energy to work out more So things are looking up - I am hoping to drop 10 kilos by the end of summer and 10 more by January where DH and I will proceed to get me fat all over again with bubba #2
SO off to work out while Eva sleeps! she'll be up for a feed soon and DH gets back tonight from a 2 day business trip to Paris...MIL was there too so I know Eva will have some presents headed her way!!! Parisian baby fashion is just gorgeous! That girl's wardrobe puts me to shame! lol
