Alison - I had photos done of Liam by the same people last week! I'm looking forward to seeing the photos, since he was really smiley for them And I just ordered an amber teething necklace, too. They're something that I didn't really consider until Liam started with the teething (at least I think that's what's happening - he's doing the same as Amelia), but hey, if it works, it'll be awesome. If not, I have some pretty beads

Tilda - Argh, what an awful day I hate it when things pile on top of each other like that, and of course everything is a million times worse with a cranky bub.

beany - I don't really leave Liam to entertain himself a lot, but I think it's important for bubbas to try to learn some independent play. Not every kid is going to take to it, of course, and they'll take to it at different stages. Some days Liam is happy to lie down on his playmat and play for about ten minutes, but those days are rare. Liam is getting pretty stroppy about the things that he wants to do but can't, too.

BS - I had Liam down for a nap on his belly today, and I think I'm going to do it more regularly. He can lift his head up and move no problems if he needs to, but I'll supervise him until he's rolling freely. I've noticed that he often ends up sleeping on his side these days, too, which must be more comfy for him.

AFM - Had a rough night and day again. Liam was unsettled last night, waking up screaming several times. Apart from 2am, when he decided to wake up happy and talky and stay awake for two hours, during which time he got tired and cranky and screaming again. I ended up having to wake up DH and get him to walk with Liam to try to settle him, which I hate doing. But I was at my wit's end. Liam's been unsettled all day again, refusing to nap for most of the day for more than 10-20 minutes (and always on me - he even refused to be rocked to sleep by my mother, which is unusual). He did have one longer sleep in the afternoon, which is when I had him down on his belly. He's still refusing to nap in his crib at the moment during the day, but I'm not overly worried about that. I wish he would nap in his swing or bouncer sometimes, but he doesn't.

Where do you girls set your bubs down to nap during the day? Usually I put Liam into his crib in a semi-darkened room with music playing. I sometimes set him on the couch next to me, and of course, more often right now he's sleeping in my arms or in a sling.

I think that Liam's definitely starting teething, and he's still snuffly from his cold and unhappy about that. I think we're also seeing the first separation anxiety as well. It's kind of nice to be needed, but it does get exhausting, especially when I'm sick myself.

I think I'm going to have a look at jolly jumpers now, too!
