Hey all too depressed ATM with my grandad passing and Mikayla and just had someone come and tell me my kitty got run over so not dealing with things well atm
Love you all I'm reading my fb inbox msg though but can't be bothered with much else so I'm sorry I'm abit out of the loop
I have been looking through all her beautiful photos too she was a real stunner
Hey Mon - just remember we're here for you ok so don't feel alone or sad or depressed. I think it's time we arranged a Perth catchup with Kymmy! Sorry about your kitty as well, that's very sad news.
I've been looking at Mikayla's wedding pics too, she was so beautiful wasn't she, such a stunning girl and just that look about her that radiates sweetness. It's just too sad for words.
Hi Girls - I have a clingy baby today, growth spurt, teeth, who knows!!! It took me 2 hours to eat my lunch today. Question, I was told last week you should put your babies to bed awake otherwise they can end up with separation anxiety or self settling problems but Amelia is usually already asleep when I put her down, is this wrong and has anyone got any tips for putting her to bed awake? At night she usually falls asleep during her feed so is already asleep when I put her down, is this not right?
How is everybody today?
Oh and I got my amber teething necklace in the mail today, fingers crossed it helps! Amelia is gagging she's shoving so much down her gob. She's found her feet too which is cute.
Alison - they're actually not supposed to chew on the necklace, so you'd probably want to start hiding it under her clothes sweet. Oh and with the self settling - meh - if you are happy for her to fall asleep whilst being fed, then go with that. If she will self settle - great. If she can fall asleep with some help - go with that. Whatever works for you.
Sometimes Eden falls asleep on the bottle, sometimes she falls asleep by herself, sometimes she needs us to pat her bottom to sleep. Whatever works for you my love!
Alison - I don't listen to the 'shoulds' because they aren't bringing up my kids, i am, so I do what right for us. I put Mr I down asleep too. Re: seperation anxiety, its a stage, most bubs go through it & I just take it that he loves me & loves being with me. DS1 went through it & came out the other side happy to say goodbye when he's at child care, happy to be left with his grandparents most of the time.
I'm pretty sure that 4 mths is a typically clingy time & who wouldn't want to be with someone who feeds us, makes us laugh & holds us when we cry, not to mention cleans our bum & tolerates being peed on (Mr I got me twice today - boys!).
PIL came up from Sydney for the day on Sunday & I behaved quite well - MIL may have noticed my forced smile at the annoyingly noisy easter toys she brought the boys - an egg that goes 'hee hee hee Come and find me' and a plush train for Mr I that I can't remember the noise, but I don't want to find out 'cause DS1 will want to press the button over & over. MIL can't resist buying noisy toys - we have dogs on a pillow that sings I got you babe, a chicken that clucks & plays Camptown Races, various Cars movie things, a teddy that plays Brahms Lullaby in a really tinny tone and a few more. If she lived closer I'd say they can stay at Nan's place, but seeing we haven't been to Sydney for 2 years I can't do that.
Mon - sorry about your cat. Catch up with Alison & Kymmy, we need to remind ourselves that we are there for each other at times like these.
I thought Mr I had forgotten how to roll, but I think he's been on too soft a surface - we have all wooden floors so I've had his playmat on the old cot mattress. I put him on a towel on the floor & he went from back to front a couple of times, but couldn't remember how to get back & just whinged until I turned him over.
I keep thinking about what could've been done for poor Mikayla & her poor hubby having the anniversery so soon after she died.
hi girls still on my mobile as my laptop is not working. allison violet has never been put down awake she would freak out lol hi everyone! nothing new here, v clingy too. dh driving me crazy, same as everyone wondering if things could have been different with Mikayla. we were supposed to catch up at the next BB meet up which is next thursday. bummer. makes me angry and sad. mon x x hugs for you beautiful girl.
Hi Mel.....oh I didn't mean she was chewing on her necklace, yesterday she was shoving her Sophie the Giraffe and hands into her mouth and making herself gag lol - she hasn't noticed the necklace which is great, I put it around her ankle under her jammies last night - not sure if it worked already but she slept well, only went in once to move her away from the end of the cot - I had to give her some baby panadol late yesterday though as she was crying uncontrollably and shoving her fist in her mouth so I think her mouth was really sore. Poor girl - I hated giving it to her and she spat most out but I think it helped. She slept until 8.00 am today so I got a bit of a sleep in, yesterday was a bit of a nightmare and I was knackered!
Hi Everyone else, thanks for your comments re self settling etc., I don't feel so bad now, the person who mentioned it to me made me worry a little, I hadn't even thought about it before! But I'm going to keep going the way things are, don't fix what aint broke huh!
AFM - I'm cooking some soup in the slow cooker today, I so need to lose this weight and see if it helps the fluid retention, I STILL can't get my wedding rings on!!!!! I don't understand how I can wear a ring on my right hand on the middle finger but not on my ring finger on the left hand, weird. I haven't worn them for 6 months now though and want to get them back on!!! If they don't fit in the next 8 weeks or so I'm going to have them made bigger, I want them on for my birthday in June that's for sure. I got sunburt on my chest on the weekend and I've come up in a really itchy but sore rash, I think this has happened to me before, it's really annoying and doesn't look the nicest either. Oh well, just add it to the list! lol
Gotta run, Missy Moo is on her jolly jumper and I think she's had enough. Have a nice day everyone. Still missing Mikayla too. Poor you Natty, that would've been lovely to have finally met her face to face - it was her wedding anniversary the other day too - can you imagine how her husband and parents must be feeling. Now we have kids the thought of losing a child has changed perspectives.......just devastating.
How is everyone holding up??? Hope you are all going along OK....been quiet in here lately after everything that's happened....
Alison - Abbey is doing the same thing with her fists - she tries to shove the whole thing down her throat and starts going red and gagging and carrying on! I think that's what caused the massive vomit the other night....I originally though that JD must have put something in her mouth and was yelling at him but after I thought about it a bit more I'm pretty sure it was her doing that!!! Abbey has found her feet as well but easier for her when she has floor time with no nappy.....though the rolling over has become a bit of a problem...sometimes she can get back on to her back but if she cant then she whinges until I roll her back over...I seem to be running from the kitchen or wherever I am to sort her out all the time!!!
She never puts herself to sleep at any time unless she is super exhausted in the car....we always bounce her or she drops off while having a feed....I wish I had a baby that just lied there and dozed off but not the case here.....JD was the same too.
Heavenly - Sorry about your pussy cat....horrible thing to happen - she was just soooo cute!!!
Natty - Clingy babies seem to be the thing at the moment hey!!! You get used to only have 1 arm pretty quick...it's amazing what you learn to do with only 1 arm when you have too!
Snowy - Got to love noisy toys hey!! I hear some of JD's go off in the middle of the night....DH seems to sleep straight through it all for some reason and I always end up in the toy box neck deep trying to find out what's been put in there upside down so the buttons are being pressed...only seems to happen in the night though - not ghosts I hope!
AFM - Had 2 decent sleeps the last couple of nights....have started putting her in those nice cosy Wondersuits so maybe she was a bit chilly before and is now all nice and snuggly....who really knows though?? I wish we did cause then alot of our problems would be solved!!!
She is constantly grabbing at things all the time too!! If I take her near the fridge where we have a few things stuck up the arms start waving around like crazy trying to grab whatever she can and the tongue sticks out too when she's concentrating...it's very cute! She's not too fussed on the Farex at the moment so only trying to get some into her of a night time. I have mixed it with pear a couple of times and tried apple last night which was a bit more successful but still not opening that mouth a heap for me!
God, my mum is on at me to have a 3rd already!!! If we win lotto or something I might be a chance but other than that I dont think so!!! I dont know what I'm going to do about work etc....I applied for mat leave until November this year but my pay runs out in the middle of June so that will be crunch time....I dont think we'll get much off Centrelink which sux. We are both only admin workers so it's not like we earn any massive amounts of money...you do the right thing and want to work and buy a house and you get nothing. Makes me so mad thinking about it. I thought I'll just wait til the new financial year and see what they'll give me when my income will be zero. I will have pull JD out of kindy just to get through week to week which is a shame but if it's the difference for me to be able to stay home full time then it's worth it (even though he'll probably drive me nuts!!!)...
Sorry about the rant again!!
Hi everyone else - talk soon and hope your gorgeous babies are being nice to you!!
PS - Abbey sucks on her washer while she's in the bath.....that's not good is it? Her sucking on bath water??
Hi Shayna - lol a 3rd wow!! We'll be going back for seconds but that will be it for us, I'm too old to have a 3rd lol. Don't think I'd have the patience either to be honest as I'd have to have them all close together. Has Abbey been through her Wonder Week 19 yet? I'm going through it atm, Amelia is sleeping well at night so far but is hard work during the day, very clingy, whingey, hungrier than usual - she's not lasting the 4 hours and sometimes I'm feeding her every 2.5/3, cries unless being held, wants to be kept amused....it's bloomin hard work! I can't wait until it's over. Oh and as for the money thing, I hear you, I'm in admin as well, I only got 2 months pay but my maternity leave ends in October, I can go back parttime if I want but I have to talk to the first. I'm not sure I want to go back but I miss the pay packet, I work in Oil and Gas so it's good money. I am going to ask if I can work from home a couple of days as I know someone else is but not sure they can do that as admin. Will ask though, hacking on the train into the city every day doesn't interest me anymore! We are going to try for number 2 at the end of the year anyway so not sure it's worth it, will see how I feel closer to the time. I might be hanging to go back then but at the moment I can't imagine leaving Amelia. Oh and I get nothing from the Govt...besides the baby bonus, I don't qualify for the family benefit payment, we earn too much apparently. I'm with you on it, out of principle it sux because I've been working for 20 years and paid my taxes, I've never been on the dole or anything, when it comes to my turn it's too bad.....scummy so and so's. I understand if I earn too much but technically I'd rather them use my share for something good not give it to those who p it up against the wall on drugs and alcohol etc!
Woops, sorry I've rambled again, best go, Amelia has just had a feed and sitting on my lap while I type, she's facing the pc with my chin on her head lol. Can't be good for her but it's the only way I can get it done at the moment. It's 11.00 am and I haven't even had a shower!!!!
Ruby has been stuffing her fist in her mouth too. She also pulls her top up to chew and suck on it so I have started putting bibs on her so she can suck on them instead. She sucks on her facewasher too in the bath, my other kids did it so I guess it hasn't bothered me too much. As long as they don't 'drink' alot of it.
I got a real fright the other night. It was around 3am and I was feeding Ruby in bed. Anyway I heard her make a little cry noise and I looked at her and her lips and mouth were blue I don't think I rolled on her, she might have choked on some milk or something, she often falls asleep with a mouthful of milk. Scared the crap out of me so now I make sure I stay awake while I feed her now - as hard as it is.
Ruby has been very chatty the last few days and really practising using her voice, its gorgeous. I have some more photos to put on FB, Ill try and get around to doing that today, if I have time. I have discovered a new hobby - making clips. I'll stick some pics on FB too so tou can let me know what you think. I might sell them if you think they are good enough.
Hi Ubba - oh so cute Ruby has found her voice, Amelia doesn't shut up these days, sometimes I think she's upset but then I realise it's her talking, hmmmm. DH said she's going to take after me, talks too much lol! Rude buggar. How scary about her mouth and lips being blue, isn't that a sign of wind? Amelia still gets that when she needs a good burp.
Well I finally had a shower at nearly 12pm, Amelia has just gone to sleep in her rocker - the quiet is beautiful, I want to bottle it at the moment! My 9 year old dog is asleep nearby suckling like a baby, it's so funny. Oh and I forgot to tell you girls, talk about baby brain (I just had a call from the OT, I forgot my appointment this morning) when we went down south on the weekend I was supposed to take a roast with me and forgot, but guess what I found in my handbag down there, my home phone! I was the laughing stock of the house and with good reason, what an idiot lol!!!! Honestly, it's quite embarrassing this baby brain. I don't even remember putting it in there!
PMSL @ Alison - ahhh that SO sounds like something I would do!!!
Miss Eden is quite vocal as well - maybe its a girl thing? I say she takes after her daddy - he's quite the talker!! lol
I just came back from the docs where she got her needles (tried to get the hep b one seperate but they don't do it like that - doh!) but i didn't get the rota virus one for her. Doc seemed happy with my reasoning why I didn't want to get it done, so nothing was said - woohoo haha
So her up to date stats at 4 months:
Height: 70cm
Weight: 6.5kg
HC: 42
Doc didn't say anything to me about how she is going, so I'm guessing she is ok on the charts, haven't looked at them yet. Just about to give her a dose of panadol cos she's not too impressed at the moment and then I'll put her down for a nap. Poor thing, I hate it when they get their shots, screaming is awful to hear.
Hope everyone else is having a good day.
ETA: Ubba - I didn't see that about Ruby going blue - eeek!! My worst nightmare, I think I would freak - you must have been so scared Even with the breathing monitor on Eden I don't feel that she is safe....
hi girls still on my mobile just want to say im glad Ruby was ok Ubba also i was really happy today violet was sitting oo my lap facing me. looks at my boobs so i opened my top, V is still sitting, leans across and starts drinking. empties one boob then looks at the other so i undo that side and off she goes again, holding my boob with both hands and drank up. so gorgeous.
Mel I absoulutely crapped myself when I saw her. It wasn't just a tinge it was full on bright blue. I never want to see anything like that again.
Al- I have done that too! Looking through my bag for something then I find the home phone in there. DH loved me for it when I took it away to mums for the weekend.
I am sick ATM, I have a runny nose and headaches and for some reason my teeth hurt
Ruby had 3 sleeps today, each on for 40mins, arrgghh I wish she would sleep longer. Not only for my sake but hers too, she just gets cranky by the time night comes. I have been giving her a bottle to top her up of a night and she has been sleeping for about 5 hours which has been nice.
Ahhh school and kinder back on Monday, back into the swing of things. I love the holidays cause I don't have to get organised to go anywhere.
Have a great night girls
xxx
Ubba - Eden has 3 sleeps every day - usually for about 40 mins each - an hour if I'm lucky. But she crashes pretty much at 7pm and sleeps till around 5.45, so I'm not complaining.. lol
Natty: Funny you should say that cos Archie was doing the exact same thing on my lap on the couch just before! So cute!
Such a shame that you never got to meet Mikayla. I think you and her would have gotten along really well. You are beautiful, just like her.
Mel: I chickened out on the 4 month needles and cancelled my appointment. I have made an appointment with a homeopath who immunises homeopathically instead. I just didn't feel right about it after the 2 month ones and i regretted getting it done, so i armed myself with info and i have also ordered a great book online (just to reassure me that i have made the right decision!) and i have chosen NOT to immunise! AHHHHHHH! I am a little frightened, mostly because of other peoples reactions, but in the end i think most people immunise because it is the done thing, not because they have done any research on it and made an informed decision. Brit is fully immunised but i was 18 back then and did what i was told! I feel better that Archie and i don't have to go through that EVER again! Hope Eden (and YOU!)is OK, wow she is REALLY tall!!! Supermodel perhaps? xxxxx
Alison: Glad you had a good time down south... Don't worry, you are not the only one who has taken the house phone with you....
Now Archie DOES put himself to sleep, but remember, i still get up to him 3-4 times a night so i have to have something to brag about!!! He actually cries to be put down as he gets too hot. And perhaps isn't very affectionate... Like his dad! haha!
Bec: Oh how SCARY!!!! So glad the lil munchkin is ok... I dont think i told you girls but a few months ago i awoke to DH screaming Archie's name as he had felt his leg (he was asleep) and it was ice cold, so DH tried to wake him up and he wouldn't wake up!!!! It was the scariest moment of my life! I woke up and grabbed Archie which woke him up and we both nearly threw up on the spot! What an AWFUL feeling.
Archie is putting everything in his mouth too! I am sure i can feel two teeth but they are the eye teeth (i think) so maybe it is my imagination.... They are supposed to get the bottom front two first aren't they?
Can't wait to see your clips! I wish i had a hobby! I occasionally get the urge to sew or knit or do SOMETHING but, alas, i am useless. The last time i sewed a button on it fell off again within 5 mins and i lost it on the floor somewhere... HAHA! When i was pregnant i had the urge to knit a red blanket but kept dropping my stitches (is that what they are called??!) so i went and bought a ready made red blanket! haha! I am good at other things....................... um, i think........
Shayna: Archie has also found hid feet AND.............................. HIS WILLY! I knew it was gonna happen some day.... The minute i take his nappy off his hand shoots down between his legs! haha! It's quite funny really. Typical male.
Don't you just love them in wondersuits!!!? Archie runs really hot so i generally have to put him in short sleeve suits so i cant wait til it gets really cold and i get dress him up in snuggly outfits!
Angela: OH HOW I HATE NOISY TOYS! haha! My best friend deliberately buys my kids annoying things... but she is a cow! I am buying her son a drum kit for his first birthday! haha!
Pamela: How is the new house going? It looks beautiful! And that daughter of yours, look out when she is older... what a heartbreaker! And Anton is adorable! What a great babymaker you are! x
Mon: How are you?? I think you, Alison and I should definately have a catchup.... xxx
Sarah and Telly: How are you both? Hope you are okay... am thinking of you both heaps, love you girls lots xxx
Billy: I would love to go to NZ! Where abouts do you live? What is it like there??
I better be off.... My dad is on his way home from the hospital as we speak so i am off to see him! I am so excited!
