Hey, great news about the weight gain hey!!!

Indah had started waking every 2 - 3 hours for feeds, but her weight gain was 280g in 8 days & she grew 3cm since birth. So I guess a growth spurt would make ya hungry?
Last night I fed at 9pm, she woke for a feed at 3am & again at 8am... Not bad... happier to have had some sleep I was!!!

Think she has some oral thrush, will have to get something for it & I guess my nipples too, although they are not at all sore! :-k

Tracey, I have just had the "once" tablet for thrush "down there" IYKWIM, I went to the doc and they said it was what they prescribed for nipple thrush too. Don't know what you put on Indah though. Best wishes.

    Hi everyone,

Well I am certainly jealous of those of you getting lots of sleep at night! We were having major dramas with James the first week I was home, the only way he would settle at night was in my arms so from midnight till 5am every night I would have to cuddle up with him on the couch, terrified to go to sleep myself and not knowing what else to do!

Consequently I was in a big daze the whole first week home, one night he miraculously just slept in his own bed thank goodness, although still wakes for 4-hourly feeds. We get sleep on at least 2 of the three 4-hour cycles at night, IYKWIM. So it isn't too bad. He is harder to settle during the day. Which prompts the question - how much playtime is good playtime at this age (nearly 3 weeks)?

Barley1, just had a look at your website, and both your girls are just gorgeous! well done.

Amanda - fingers crossed for Leah's hip check.

Notes: 9 days overdue, induced labour, Sam had alot of mucous in body at birth and was taken to special care to get rid of some of it other than that we have been blessed with a healthy baby.

Hi everyone while i have a spare minute between feeding, changing, cuddleing and cleaning i thought i would add my stats and introduce Sam.
Sam is a very content baby only cries when he needs something. 3-4 hourly feeds, had a bit of trouble latching on in the start as he doesnt open his mouth very wide, so my nipples are cracked bleeding and grazed, i am expressing into bottles to give them a break. Learnt today how to open his mouth wider and latch him on.
Other than that he has been so perfect.

    Hey everyone!
I cant believe how fast this last 2 weeks have gone! We have been swamped with relatives the whole time (our families all live in other states, so when they visit, they stay with us and its just a bit full-on) so I am really lookign forward to some quiet time with my boys.
Kirsty, impressive weight gain! The MCHN came out to our house on Friday and Reilly has gained 230g from his birth weight, so we are getting there!
I am pretty proud of myself, I am 10kg less than when I fell pregnant. Still a long way to go, but a good start!
Ellissa, you are lucky, I cant wait until Reilly starts to get chatty, all he really does now is squeak, which is cute but not quite the same, lol.
Tracey, how did you know Indah had thrush? I often notice white on Reillys tongue but as its usually when I am feeding him I figure it could just be the milk. I just dont know what else to look out for. BTW, had a look at your website, your girls are just so beautiful!
My DH made a new website for Reilly yesterday, so I dont have to worry anymore about trying to figure out how to do it, luckily!

    Nixie,
Have a look at his tongue before you feed again... If it's still white, then ask at Chemist or MCHN, or DR...
Indah kept pushing her tongue out too, like she was itching it... Luckily my nipples are fine, but I read it can cause them to hurt, sting, burn etc...
But I dont seem to have that!?

Indah now weighs exactly 4kgs, so she has gained about 500gms since birth, she has 3 chins.... =D> hee hee!

Hi all, I took Leah today to get an ultrasound done on her hip - I was really proud of her she just layed there and looked around the room while it was being done, I was expecting her to be screaming and upset but she was totally fine.

It is looking like she is going to need to wear a harness though, the hip socket is really shallow - they told me a perfect hip joint is what they call 50% (so the ball is 50% in the joint when the leg is straight) but her's is only 30%. Thankfully it is only one side.

I will find out for sure whether the harness is required on wednesday when I take her to the docs for the 'official' results of the ultrasound.

Otherwise she is doing fine - starting to get chubby!

    Hi everyone

Amanda-good to here little Leah is doing well.Gemma is getting quite chubby herself, you can really notice it in her cheeks(facial!)and her little legs are starting to get a fat roll!

Well we had a bad night sunday night.Gemma was up most of it and didn't get to sleep till 11am the next day.I went out to my parents and took advantage of them both being home and caught up on some sleep while they watched her and gave her a feed!Other than that she has started making noises now which startled me at first. Its so cute to see them changing so much in such a short time!

Gemma and I move to the 1 month thread on thursday.........can't beleive its been a month already!Don't feel like I've just had her.My c/s scar is healing really well and I have started walking to help the jelly belly go down.Don't even really notice my scar anymore and the fat roll above it is nearly gone!YEH!Have lost quite a bit of weight as I find it hard to find time to eat!

Well better fly.........gem's finaly asleep, might go and do some housework...maybe 8-[

Hi guys, lovely to see you're all doing so well, I'm really jealous of those who are getting some sleep though! I got my first 4 hours straight sleep last night since giving birth, Ned has been feeding 2.5-3hourly which is so annoying. We gave him a bottle feed last night before settling him, which made a huge difference. Mind you, he's been having at least two bottles every day since we came home anyway, my milk supply is just not up to scratch.

We went to the MCHN yesterday. I have a HUGE baby... birth weight 4280 gms, discharge weight 4000 gms, weight yesterday (2w 2days) 4520gms, that's 520 gms in 10 days... no wonder that I can't keep up with the huge hungry bundle that I've got!

And otherwise, I managed to get that wonderful job I was talking about recently, three days a week starting in January, more money in three days than DH makes working full time... hehehehe! Super!

Sending you all sleepy baby vibes...
