    Hi mum2718!

2.5 hours wow wee! How did your body cope with that?

Mine was about 6 hours and I always thought that was fairly quick..

    Hi,

My second birth was only 2 1/2 hours too, My body didn't cope so well though, i went into shock and couldn't stop shaking, it felt terrible, and the stress of almost having her in the car was a worry too lol But i still think it would be better than a 24 hour labour

OMG;25 minutes-chrissy thats amazing.......Scarey amazing. can i ask how long was the second birth.
I had 12 hours with my first and forceps epidural delivery and then in contrast had 2 hours with the second one. I know what i'd rather... I bounced straight back after having the second one. I gave her a bath at lunchtime and took her home. I was only in hospital a total of about 6 hours. i don't think the hospital see that very often. Couldnt see the point in hanging around as i /we felt great so we went home as there was plenty to get done with my other child.

My second and third labours were about 2 hours. I did however have lots of BH's and stop start prelabour before it got serious. I count the labour as starting when the contrax got regular and strong, not irregular and annoying IYKWIM

***My labor was 2 and half hours***
    My contractions started at 9am.
My partner rang the hospital when they were 3mins apart (they put the fear into us in the antenatal classes to not come earlier)... I could not tell you what time that was as I was obviously busy trying to get through the pain of the contractions between sitting on the toilet to going into the kitchen gripping on the kitchen chair and strangely enough stomping my right foot ( funny the things you remember what you read in books that worked for others).
Anyway, must have taken me about about 10 to 15mins to get myself into the car. ( The distance between our front door and the car was a short approx 10metres but the contractions were so intense I thought I was going to give birth on the lawn ).
My usually softly spoken partner spoke to me in a firm voice (like nothing I have heard before) a bit like a solider in command and off I went in the quickest shuffle across our front lawn. (Later he told me he knew there was no other way he could get me into the car but to speak to me firmly ... Well, it wasn't as cruel as it sounds ... But, hey it worked !! ... Though he did say he felt a bit terrible in doing so)
We live about a 8min drive to the hospital.
Arrived at the hospital at 11am ... And my beautiful daughter was born 11.39am ... Yep only 39mins after arriving at the hospital !!!
She was my 1st birth and at the ripe young age of 40 : ) LOL
No time for drugs even if I wanted them (which I didn't in my plan) ... And sadly my brain couldn't catch up to what was happening to my body. When I arrived at the hospital I thought I must have at least a 16hr slog labor ahead of me as in the antenatal classes they give you that impression it's on average about 10 to 16 hrs length of time.
So you can imagine when I was at the worst tail end of the contractions I thought I was only at the beginning of my contractions and emotionally felt down on myself. I thought I wasn't coping well, infact I was doing an amazing job.
Yep, and the body went into shock( that felt so bizzare) just after I gave birth BUT I didn't care as that was a small price to pay to finally have my beautiful daughter in my arms : )
Like someone said to me I was a lucky thing to get to see my daughter quicker then most !!!!

My first labour was 6.5hrs and i was happy with that. THEN my second DD was in a hurry. My waters broke at 6am, almost 4 weeks ealy. I had to go to hospital at 8am for AB for GBS+. Had 1st contract at about 9am. Stayed flat on my back the hole time looking at the ceiling, not talking to anyone. I was in denial that my husband was inter state! at 11am talked to my husband and said "sorry your going to miss it" got out of bed walked to the toilet (I think that full bladder was what helped slow everything). I walked back to the bed and 2 pushes later she was here. My DH walked in not 10mins later! So all up i think that they said that the labour was 2hrs but felt only about 12mins. Doc said that i better plan a home birth next time whether i like the idea or not LOL

My first labour was 4 and a half hours(induced after water breaking but nothing else happening)
second labour 3 and a half hours
third labour 2 and a half hours
fourth labour 28 minuets(i also went into shock after this 1 i think it was just to quick for my brain to process)
    fifth labour 50 minuets
and now i am 29 weeks with number 6 and a little scared we might not make it this time as we live about 20 minuets from the hospital and it takes me a while to work out that there not BH ow well being number six im sure i could do it on my own if need be.

My first labour was a funny one. It was about 15 hours from waters breaking to birth, about 6 hours where i felt like labouring was all i could do, but my actual "active labour" was about 2 hours. I was checked at 2.30pm and was 2-3cm dilated, 50% effaced, and then at my next VE, at 6pm, she was crowning.

I wouldn't have a hospital birth next time anyway (DD was a homebirth) but i joke with DP that he'd better be ready to catch next time, in case the midwife doesn't get here in time
