My first labour was a funny one. It was about 15 hours from waters breaking to birth, about 6 hours where i felt like labouring was all i could do, but my actual "active labour" was about 2 hours. I was checked at 2.30pm and was 2-3cm dilated, 50% effaced, and then at my next VE, at 6pm, she was crowning.

I wouldn't have a hospital birth next time anyway (DD was a homebirth) but i joke with DP that he'd better be ready to catch next time, in case the midwife doesn't get here in time
