Perhaps as you gather information about BF'ing you could casually drop information into the conversation about the benefits. He might slowly come around of his own accord. Have you explained to him how important it is to you to at least try and have his support? Let him know you can't do it without him and you'd really like to try. Honesty always works best for me.
