Theresa I think alot of it is that "super mum" mentality where women feel if they say they weren't happy with their birth they might be seen as failures particularly when the general view of c/s's is "unnecessary", I know I find myself deffending my decission to have an elective c/s for a breech baby and now with my 3rd I'm comfortable with my decission for another elective although If I searched I could possibly find an OB that MAY let me attempt a trial labour but I'm actually scared for the safety of my baby after having such a traumatic labour and emergency C with my first, what if I labour only to have another emergency C or worse??. I know there are alot of risks with a C and this scares me just as much but atleast with a C my baby can get medical attention immediately if needed and the risks are to my own life.
It upsets me when I see mum's struggling with the choice of a C because if you do choose a C your expected to own it and be proud and strong, if you feel bad about it then too bad it was your choice! but the truth is it still hurts you still need support and understanding.

I'm sure there will be alot more guilt riden mum's after us
