Hope you don't mind if I jump straight in with a question.
Munchkin is about 20 months old and we've been using mostly V1 Pop Ins. However she keeps managing to pull the flap at the front out. Is it something I'm doing wrong when I put it together/put it on? Or is it just her being fidgety and pulling it out. Cause I'm not sure if it causes a problem being out or not. She looks a bit silly with it, but I mostly worry cause I can see a tag from the insert when she does it.

Jwith - DD sleeps for 12 hours most nights too. I put her in a boosted BBH Bamboo and fleece cover and that lasts her all night - I'd say she's a medium wetter. She leaks out the back of sposies if have to use them at night but has never leaked out of mu cloth setup but she has a big padded butt. As long as there's no poo and bub doesn't have really bad nappy rash there's nor reason you can't put them in a good night nappy for 12 hours. If your DS is a very heavy wetter you would need to use a full on dedicated night nappy.
Kamarine - I dunno, I've never had that happen? I'd say that if it doesn't leak or cause any problems like that - don't worry about it.. LOL
JwithJ - I have a dedicated night nappy for my kids - but they are heavy wetters so something like a baby beehinds bamboo just doesn't cut it. DS can outwet one of those in about.. oooh.. 3 hours?
I think everyone in this thread is addicted. My Dh freaks out at the number of nappies we've got. I can't help it they are so pretty. Heaven help me if we don't have another girl!!!
I have to say i'm very impressed with my DH. He is a SAHD 3 days out of 7 and he does a great job with her in cloth. I don't let him wash them though!!! He does prefer the "easier ones" BGs, BBH CTs.
I should get my bargain IBs this week but I really want to grab a nappy type I don't have...hmm maybe its time I got a GF!
I am ashamed to admit that I am scared of starting cloth. It was 'easy' for me to continue to use sposies when DD came out of hospital because I hadn't prewashed the nappies... now I find myself with nappies still not prewashed because we had stock of sposies... we ran out of sposies and we bought a box because the nappies weren't prewashed.
I know part of me is just being lazy but I am really worried that cloth is going to get on top of me and I am not going to cope and yeah just generally scared and worried I can't do this.
Part of me knows I can but I think I am hiding behind the 'oh she is so small' tag... and DD isn't anymore - she is 3.5kg - the size of a 'stock' newborn so the nappies and covers I have should fit and not have too much gape.
It's OK T I understand sometimes it's the worry of the unknown and not being able to keep up. Instead of jumping in at the deep end and going full time, you can ease into it part time maybe.
Have you tried them on bubby yet? Maybe try that ie like dress ups Once you see how cute they are then you might be motivated to use them and if she happens to poo in one then you'll need to wash it...and one is a waste of a wash so you might keep wearing them for one full day to make up a load
i am having wing droop dramas with my ittis too , no butt crack issues tho , must look for someone who can put extra snaps on them .
got 3 2nds ittis in the mail the other day $15 ea ! bargain and you can hardly tell the are 2nds , they are large though , so they have to wait till the caterpilla is big enough to fit them ( soon though !!!! )
im becooming obsessed , weight DD every day , seeing if shes tipped 9 kg yet ....she is soo close , lets all send get fat prayers to dd(and get thin ones for me !!)
dont be scared TK ! dress ups is a good idea to start !! think of all the reasons you wanted to go cloth and remind yourself why its soo much cooler than sposies !!!

TK, at first, I timed it for after he had done a poo (he is a once a day kind of guy) then after I had accidently had to deal with pooey ones, I got brave and took them out with us when we went to the shops and now there is no turning back. Try a true aio if you have one (all sewn in to the shell) and definatly go with the velcro ones first. Just pick the ones that look the most like sposies and put them on after poops. You will get there. Hey, Lil Man still goes to grandmas in sposies (she prefers them and I figure whatever makes her happy) and we use them overnight cause I cant stand the smell of an all night cloth nappy. PHeeewww
TK, I was the same, but the more I started using them, the easier it got. When I 1st started, I used sposies when I went out, so it wasn't as daunting. Now DD is only is sposies at night (which I am trying to eliminate) and at daycare cause they supply them, and if my Dad is watching her cause he doesn't get the whole MCN thing..
DS is in cloth all day, and sposies at night.
Now when I relapse and use sposies (I was sick a few weeks ago when DH went back to work), it is usually the expensive shop at the supermarket with sposies that makes it so much more appealing to use cloth.
Oh, and I really need to be shot, I dreamt about nappies last night, LOL..
I recieved an Itti Bitti in the wrong size though, don't think she's quite big enough for a large lol. Am waiting for them to respond to my email about their error.
Love the minilala, so cute... hopefully it fits her well. Also got a Baby Chilli, which is GORGEOUS! looks really well made too. I also got a blueberry minky, looks extremely bulky though... so not too sure how that one will go. Washing them up as I type, can't wait to try them.
OK dimwit new user question coming.....can you describe to me the wing droop thing that is happening with people's ittis? They fit DS well as far as I can tell, but we've only done dress ups, no real test yet. I'm going to get him into cloth part time this week....so I'm on the look out in case it happens to us?
TK i'm apprehensive too, I gotta kick myself up the bum big time and JUST DO IT!
I'm more frustrated shopping around trying to find the right fit for us. I don't have heaps of $ to keep buying here and there, but I know its the only way to test a lot of them out such an experiment.
TK, I can relate to how scary it is to get them into cloth but it is so nice to be able to coordinate nappies and clothes
Lolly, guessing that wing droop is where the sides of the top of the nappy don't sit right and don't seal around the leg. usually happens when you have a baby with fat legs ans skinny bum? I mean if you hold the nappy like you're about to put it under bub's rear, the edge closest.

I also agree that sposies are expensive and I used a night nappy but the next morning little one's bum was all red from the ammonia and she smelt like a urinal... Sposies for me at night *sigh*
Wing droop is where the wings of the nappy where the front panel is (so not the ones that wrap around to snap on) "droop" down the crotch area, so both sides come down and bunch around the top of the insides of their thighs. There was a classic photo on another website the other day of the worst wing droop which was quite funny. Just sucks cos I always got leaks.
