Swim nappies are to catch errrr......... solid waste while in the pool. DD needs a new one because her's has butt cleavage now. Massive growth spurts too so even more reason.

WOCB: Errrr, can't remember what I put on her mid tantrum. She's a little demon today

Yep- they wee in the pool. Disposable swimmers are the same. You can't catch the wee as an absorbant nappy would just soak up the pool water and make baby sink That's why they use chlorine

Urine is sterile anyway. It's the faeces which pass on bacteria etc.

LOL, don't swallow sea water then - you don't want to think about what's in that! All those sea mammals aren't immaculate conceptions.

TBH I am not sure - I have never used an actual "swim" nappy, just a well fitting PUL cover (with double gussets)

WOHB - BB wooly night but she wont go to sleep!

yes, they wee in the pool. I can not for the life of me swim in a public pool. I swear I can smell the urine from a block away! GOGO personal saltwater pool!

WOCB: Sposie and soooooo glad daddy's settling her tonight. The demon tried to break my foot with a can this morning......

I am the same, I really hate public pools. The bad part of it is that I have never taken my kids to swimming lessons. Even when we had 2 week intensive lessons in high school I faked sickness for most of it. We went to the local aquatic centre a few weeks ago, all of us ended up sick and couldn't get the smell of that horrible chlorine out of my nose. Yuck.

JwithJ what have you got in your NB stash? I can't wait to play with mine either!!!

WOHB - Still said BB wooly night pocket - still asleep <3

i am thinking of braving the public pool and taking mr c to swimming lessons, simply cos he LOVES the bath and i think he'd have a ball... BUT if my swim nappy has arrived by monday we are going to give it a try cos its going to be 27c and we are going to see how mr c likes the beach!

    So grose.
Oz sale had some gorgeous kids swimmers the other day for sale, so I bought 2 pairs, does that mean we don't necessarily need a swimming nappy underneath?

cmarfol, hey hon, just check, but I think you are meant to wait until after the 6 mth jabs (if you do them) before going into a public pool.
I remember we were keen as to start swimming, but for some reason we waited until 6 mths.
    Beach sounds great though.
