Ive taken Clomid for 5 cycles, and took the tablets from day 2 to day 6 of my cycle and always ovulated on day 16/17. I think it depends when you used to ovulate pre clomid. I used to ovulate around day 22. So you can see how earlier the Clomid was making me ovulate. Clomid stimulates the ovaries to produce eggs and more than you usually produce hence the higher amount of percentage for you to become pregnant. There are some negatives against clomid however as they say some eggs maybe not ready - fully matured yet they are pushed out by the folicles due to Clomid this usually results in m/c - Dont be alarmed by this though the percentage of this happening is low. Sporty Chick. GP's or OBGYN's dont usually give Clomid to anyone just after BCP. They usually give it to someone with PCOS diagnosis and if you have tried for 12 months to get pregnant and no success. Some people are given Metformin to kick start their cycles.
