Diet and Weight Loss General Support #12

    Mmmm peanutbutter!!!!!!!

No loss here but we just moved house this week and am freaking exhausted. Going for a run by my beautiful beach tonight though and no chocolate until the weekend. I will do this, also doing JM body revolution but won't be able to do a DVD every day, hoping for 3-4 a week or running. There is a local fun run 5 kms in early Feb I want to do!

Hope you are all going well!!!

    Hey all, I'm back

Have a goal for this year, to be 85kgs. I've even written it on the mirror in the bathroom. Have signed up for R1 of the 12wbt (after a round break) and am going to be doing all manner of fun events this year, my gym is almost finished being refurbished so will be back there on a daily basis.

I have a goal of about 85kgs too sopdet - we can do it together
Your so good with your walking and exercise though - your a gun.
104.3 at the moment so 2kgs down from the start of the year

I would like to be 100kgs or under by my birthday next month.

    Plan of attack:
    * Eat more - not just breakfast, lunch & dinner - i have to keep my metabolism going with some good healthy snacks during the day & lots of water
    * Exercise - lots of walking around the house / paddocks (i really should get a pedometer) - going to try & join a local netball team on a thurs night & walk HEAPS while the girls have kinder this year (monday's & friday's mostly)

ZF I've got a few pedometers - do you want one?

I've been slack in the last few weeks, but my gym reopens the fitness component on the 4th (and is open from 6am to 10pm M-F and 8am to 8pm on weekends), so will be back into it in a big way.

Am doing the Mad Cow Mud Run on 10 March, which will be interesting

Did some Zumba Wii today. I have to get over that there are others in the house and just do it. We only have one living area, where everything is, so I just can't go to another room for 30 minutes to use it.
Seems ok so far, have not done Zumba for real so it is taking me a bit to get the moves right.

    Dipping my toes in.

To get back into the healthy range I need to loose a good 10kg. So if I just aim and achieve the 10 I will be happy. I am not getting much support from the real world. Anyone who I have said about losing weight to look at me like I am from another planet. I hide stuff well with baggy clothes and sucker inners LOL. My husband Andrew is also on a weight loss journey but even he is treating me like an alien, when I mention anything. All he is doing is some boxing and a bit of jogging and still eating/drinking what he likes.

I know I need to do something because I am getting back aches a lot, and my hips hurt when I get up after I have sat for long periods, also trying to get a bit healthier may (or may not) help my IBS which is really bad at the moment. So far.

I have cut the coke. I was a 1 to 2 can a day drinker.
I have upped my water intake from 0 per day lol to between 1.2 - 1.8ltrs a day. If I get over a litre I am happy
I am doing 30 mins of Wii Free Step per day.
I am calorie counting with My Fitness Pal.
I started Lite 'n' easy with Andrew tonight.

Andrew lost a lot of weight on Lite 'n' Easy when he used to be on it, but put it all back on again when he stopped exercising.

I have been calorie counting and free stepping for a week now. Due to dodgy ankle and a bone that likes to keep fracturing in my foot I can't really jog or do to much bounding around on the wii fit.

    So that's me

Just a quick reminder with MFP - you don't eat your exercise calories. So if you are on 1,200 cals for food a day and you do 500 cals in exercise, this doesn't mean you can eat another 500cals of food.

Yah for you Kathryn by the way

So if I am burning off 100 cal a day, I'd only eat 1100 calories (on a 1200 cal plan). Is that right?

No, if you're on a 1200 cal eating plan, eat 1200 cals. But if you exercise, and burn say,100 cals, some people believe you should eat that extra 100 cals to break even, so you would in effect be eating 1300 cals. What Sopdet is saying, is don't eat back the calories burnt during exercise.

  12. #192

okay cool. That's what I've been doing, eating the 1200 only.

Motivation zero here. Have gained a kg (on top if the 2 kg christmas weight)which on my frame equates to nearly 3-4 and almost a dress size dammit.

Back tomorrow to kick myself up the big fat bum.

    How are ya'll going?

    Bummer Tanstar

Starting Zumba tomorrow night. Just one session a week, all I can fit in and afford. Fortunately can do it due to DD1 having an activity on a the same time and location. Very interested to see how I go. Now I also must improve my activity level at home! Was good on the weekend and took the dog for a walk, plus I did a heap of cleaning that got me pretty puffed.

Diet - well it is ok, but could be better.

See my exercise is really good - we walk everywhere now we are here, ride bikes most nights, go boogy boarding on hot days etc. plus I am walking/running regularly too - it's my diet that is letting me down - I thought it was "ok" but clearly I am overeating over the course of a day, even though the portions I have each time I eat aren't big.

Quiet here! Every one must be doing the 12 wbt!!!! I'm stuck in a big rut totally off the eating wagon. DH is overseas for 3 weeks so I have rubbish here for mum who never gains weight but likes to snack on cheese dips wtc. I if course have zero self control. So annoyed and disgusted in myself right now my tummy looks awful again and have lost all tone, not that there was much!

Will keep plodding on but so freaking hard.

Plodding along here too Tan. I've gained two kgs which isn't much I know but I am finding that I am slipping back into my old habits and eating way way way too much chocolate and drinking too many macca cokes.
I have never really exercised and so I'm not sure how to even go about starting. also finding time is really tricky too. Must look at my overbooked schedule and see where I can fit in going for a few walks.
