    Everyone!!!!!! Welcome Ginger and Purplepixie!

I am doing cr@ptastically over here!! 3LM don't be so hard on yourself hun, this is HARD work babe. My exercise is fine - doing something every day, with about 1 day rest a week. Food on the other hand is terrible. DH came home with a block of Cadbury tonight - what is wrong with the man? He KNOWS we both need to lose weight, he KNOWS i have zero control. Ugh. ANyway frustrated much. Scales still not going up or down - same weight i have been for weeks and weeks and weeks. In my bathers I definitely noticed that my tummy is a bit flatter but whatever. I need to still lose 6-8kgs and it's not shifting until I do some major turn around on food. Got my csiro diet book out tonight and am going to have a good read tonight once kids are in bed and see if DH can choose a few recipes too!

Work has been awful this week so I have had a few alcoholic beverages as well more than usual although am trying to stick to vodka and soda! ( I don't have a problem I promise - just stressed!)

    BBL!

Wow this thread is moving again!! Welcome newcomers

Well, bit thrown off track. Went to a health talk last night, not so much about weight loss, but about food for health. Pretty much high protein, lots of veg and fruit, fat is good, along with a whole no processed philosophy. Very interesting, a lot of stuff I knew, but got to see more of the science/research behind it. I have followed similar in the past, but not so much the swearing of all additives, processed foods etc. I know I do well uping the protien and minimising the white, so it was good to hear it all again. But once again, it is all about buying the book (or 3) subscribing to newsletters, buying some specialised food products etc. I could not work out what was more important to the presenter, the health of the world, or her own bank account. I get that these people need to make money like the rest of us, but the sales spiel was a turn off. A lot of stuff to ponder at the moment.

Hey ladies! Some very impressive figures there!

Well. I'm currently 76.4kg and my mini-goal is 70kg. Then 65kg and I'll be in healthy weight range. Ideally 55 kg, but I'll be happy with 60.

My doc wants me to aim for 1kg/month, which apparently tricks the body so it doesn't go into starvation mode. I'm weighing fortnightly with my PT and doing my waist measurement then too. The real goal is to het to a healthy 80cm waist - I'm currently 98.5cm.
I do weigh myself daily but more as motivation.

I did the 1mkc earlier in the year, so using the recipes from that where I can.

    Oh my!

I can't get enough chocolate right now.

Its really setting me back on my weight loss goals. Plus I've felt that lousy, I haven't exercised. :-( got to really get motivated!

sorry for the "all about me vent" :-( feeling really low about weight right now.

i've missed so many posts, got to be quick so will come back for full personals a little later.

Weigh in day today, so here it is - 99.9kg - lost 1.3kg

Breakfast this morning half a can of salt reduced baked beans & 2 slices of toast.
Took the dog & DD2 for a 3km walk yesterday, it's slow going with the dog & the pram as our girl Cassie hasn't been town walked in over 4yrs so she's still a bit pulley but she was a lot better than the last 2 walks.
Am hoping if DP gets home early to throw a lead on Cass and walk the hills around our place while he deals with the kids

Surfers Paradise for DP and I next weekend, looking forward to no kids and doing what we want when we want.
Will surely have a ****tail or two but am hoping to pick salad's and beautifully cooked foods over fast foods.
We have a buffett breakfast so i might try and go for the fruit salads and things if they have them (i did say TRY right).

Slow and steady improvements from me, this is a lifestyle change it's not a diet and i still want to enjoy the finer things in life.
That said DP bought Darrell Lea sttuff & ice-cream yesterday for him and the kids - i re-arranged the cupboard this morning and put it out of reach of the kids and our of sight for me - if i really want it i will have a bit but right now i'm not at all interested... fruit snacks today YUM!

BBL later for personals, i know there are a few new people again and i want to do a proper welcome.

Purple Pixie, I was like that last week, and undoubtedly, this week AF turned up. Could that be why you're craving sweets? When I am making an effort to be healthy, I usually try having a (skim milk) hot chocolate, or a coffee/tea with a teaspoon of sugar. Or if I am really craving badly, I have chocolate, but make it a small amount of good quality stuff, and preferably dark chocolate, cause I can't eat alot of that!

ZF, You're doing so well!! Keep it up and you will meet your goals in no time!
I am doing similar things to you, trying to make small slow changes. I have also been making little post it notes to put around the house to remind me of things like drinking more water, not having sugar in my coffee (it's such a habit, I just automatically do it!) ect...

AFM, I haven't been exercising, but I intend to do some today, probably either on the wii fit, or in the back yard since DH is on a 12 hr shift and won't be home til after dinner tonight. I ate ok yesterday, though probably went over with calories, but through eating healthy foods. Not eating junk all day is a small achievement ('specially since AF is hanging around!)
For me this time around, it's slowly, slowly!

I am a terrible emotional eater too. My habits are really deeply ingrained, and I need lots of reminding so that I don't just go into old habits. I try to distract myself with things like doing crossword puzzles, reading, doing a task (like washing dishes or something) to the end then reassessing how I feel, exercise (takes your mind off eating and also releases feel good hormones!). If I still want it after doing that stuff, then I will indulge a little. Changing our life styles is just that, changing habits. But we can't totally deprive ourselves of all things that we enjoy food wise.

*waves* haven't been in here for yonks... but just popping in to say g'day!

Am re-focussing as of today after a lousy 2 weeks - gut probs & a crappy head-cold. I think I'm actually back to where I was a month ago... oh well, onward & upward (well downward actually).

Hope to be back for persies later... but for now, g'day & happy healthy eating!

I had a great week! Yay! 1.7kgs for me
I am not allowed at the gym to do all the stuff I usually do (bad bad muscle separation only recently discovered ) so just walking. Love love loving the Lose Baby weight plan I bought. The food is yum and easy and there's NO TRACKING! Yay that's what I hate the most.

    That's awesome Kim!!! Well done!!!!!

    Hi to everyone else

We just started watching another series of old biggest loser episodes (the us version) so I'm sure I will get inspired and motivated to keep going!

Weigh in day was yesterday, lost 1.2kg so that's pretty good

Absolutely killed myself on the cross trainer today - needed to though, hadn't exercised in 3 days! Shocking.

:-( been on an eating binge :-( I'm at 91kilos. Heaviest I've been in my adult life.

I thought after having a baby, I would lose weight with all the running around I'm doing. But alas, no.

Ok, today the self hate stops! I'm going to aim to walk every day. and drink water instead of sugary cordial or coke.

    You girls are my witnesses.

I'll be back later for persies, going to get my joggers on and walk around the block.
  13. Diet and Weight Loss General Support #12

Ok, already I've put my walk off. As little miss has just gone down for a sleep which is rare during the day so I'm taking the opportunity as it popped up! Persies...

Exactly. Little by little. steady weight loss is the best isn't it? So it doesn't all pile back on at once. Same as changes. If you only change few things, your most likely so succeed than cutting everything altogether. Hugs.

Belfie, I hope your feeling ok. Go gentle, ok? Hugs to you too. You haven't given up. Back on the wagon. You can do it :-) we are all here to support you.

    Owch Kim. Muscle separation :-(
Take it easy ok. As I said earlier, slow and steady.

must take a look at the lose baby weight plan. I'm 8 months post c section and can't shift my weight, I've actually gained it. I am having physio twice weekly on my scar (ultrasound therapy) which seems to be keeping the pain at bay, but I must admit getting to the gym is near on impossible for me to do.

Go girl on the weight loss! 1.7 is awesome.

Tried on clothes today. Just what I needed to encourage me. The dresses I like, just work better on someone with less rolls I want more clothes, but want to be at a better weight before I get anymore.

    Thanks PP

Oh Astrid. Me too. I have an entire box of pre Holly clothes that I can't even imagine getting into. My favourite ones ATM are the stretchy comfortable kind...not the kind I used to love. It's going to get seriously hot here very soon and I don't even want to show my arms....let alone my awful legs in shorts/skirts.

That said though, I have decided

    I CAN DO THIS!
I haven't bought a choccie every time I'm at the supermarket (and with a mind like a sieve- that's a lot). I did have a Caramello Koala yesterday because I wanted one. I enjoyed it, but there was no guilt. I ate well the rest of the day.
Today DH was in town (for those not familiar he lives 200ish kms off the tar - very remote) and he always wants takeaway. He wanted Maccas today. I LOVE McDonalds . But I had a small fries and then a salad wrap at home. I decided I didn't particularly want or need a fatty burger. I felt good about the decision.
I have been wearing my pedometer and doing at least 11000 steps per day. I have been walking, even if it's just to school and back (today I did it twice).
Tonight I couldn't be bothered cooking and my two littlest kids fell asleep by 5.10pm so DD1 had boided eggs, toast and salad, and I cooked myself a stirfry of vegies with a tin of salmon - and I enjoyed it!!
    I can do this!

And I know you all can too!!!

Thats great stuff Kim!! Even little changes can make a huge difference

I'm starting the Whole30 challenge on Monday, so not sure how that will go with my calorie intake, I suppose I could work it out if I really wanted to lol

Anyway, will see how I go with it!

Oh my gosh so many posts!!!

MNB - You will go GREAT babe, you are almost paleo now really! xoxo

Kim - Yay for your loss but boo for muscle separation - I still have a 1-2 cm one from DS and he is nearly 4 Um probably should have done somethign about that? Anyway sounds like you are being very strong!

Astrid - I know what you mean - I tried on a dress yesterday and it was a size 12 OMG but it still hugged my lumps a bit too much for my liking - getting ever so close though!

PP - Every day is a new day - how did you go today? Did you get out for some exercise?

Belfie - You know you can do it hun, you are an inspiration, you are strong and know what to do! xoxo

ZF - Whooo for your loss hun, going so well!

Sorry for the p!ss poor persies - thumping headache here, sore throat, and getting worse as the day goes on I have FINALLY had a loss though, after about 5 weeks at the one weight, even with exercising 4-6 days a week I have lost a kilo so am hoping I have broken the plateau and will keep losing now. My body has definitely changed, I am toning up, my legs look thinner, tummy is flatter - just the weight hasn't shifted. Trying not to eat as many carbs and have been eally been eating ok with a few lapses like choc chip cookies at work. As I mentioend earlier I tried on a bunch of dresses yesterday and most were a 12 and actually looked ok! My 14 jeans from Kfart which admittedly are stretch are loose and I have to wear my belt but I think Im more like a 13 so not quite ready for a 12 yet but getting closer which is ace motivation!!

Ok quote.jpg is some motivation for you all and will be back soon with a better attempt at catching up!!!

I'm back, sorry I've been AWOL, needed a forum break while I worked through a few things.

I'm doing the 12wbt this round, in pre-season right now and have started going for walks/runs every morning (also doing the c25k in preparation for October).

I am looking forward to being back on the program fully as I know I'm not eating as well as I should and could be.

Have some goals for this round and I will stick to them and succeed!
