I am terrible at restricting anything. I always have been and that's why I have failed at every diet I have tried. I have always believed that dieting isn't the way to lose weight, because if you lose weight eating a 1200 cal diet, then you would just gain the weight back when you went back to eating a normal diet, which I always did.
Although I have body issues my whole life, I have only been truly over weight since having children. For myself, I think I have gained weight due to stress, sleepless nights, and changes in hormones. As well as not exercising like I did pre-kids. I am mostly ok with my diet. These days I could eat a little less crap, but really, I am pretty healthy most of the time, and think aside from those few small changes, my diet is fine. It's the exercise that I need to change. I need to build my muscle up again, and get more active.
Since starting to ETF without the mental 'You shouldn't eat that', 'You should have more....', I am now eating without issues. I did binge for a month or so. I ate chocolate and cakes every day for a month or so. I did gain some weight. I am already over weight to begin with, so it wasn't pretty. But I am continuing to stay the course. I have lost a little of what I gained. I walk 2-3 days a week, which is the only purposeful exercise I do. I want to start lifting weights, and to do more walking/running. I just need to find my mojo. And maybe get some bigger/better weights!
