Eluned - I get that radiating too. Worse in cold weather. Have you tried sleeping with a pilow between your knees? And you know what has helped me more than anything? Actually taking my meds! I've had them revised and no longer take the ones that left me hung over. I now take panadol osteo twice a day and my anti-inflammatories and it HELPS! I'm a million times better. I know you've had a break from pilates but are you still stretching? Stretching is the other big thing for me. Or I get a ball and really dig into the area which releases it a bit (which I need to do today). I use the nobbly balls you can buy from the physio but can also get from rebel sport. I totally understand about being reluctant to get back into it incase it aggrevates things. I have often felt like that. The est advice I can give you is to take baby steps and start light/easy. Gradually build back up to where you want to be. and I can't emphasize pre and post exercise stretching enough!
YAY for your weight staying the same!
Nell - well done on your run!
Winter - you rock chicky. You are such an inspiration!
Leesa - that client sounds frustrating. Perhaps explain that to be effective, you need feedback in the days following a session so as to avoid injuries and over doing it? Or just push her so hhard she breaks
AFM, I had an extra PT session yesterday. It was good. We altered my seated dead lift and I got a FANTASTIC stretch in my left leg (worse side) which was awesome... except my glute is playing up today! And my back is not liking it so much either. But it will settle. At least it isn't the same pain I was getting in the past! We skipped the treadmill yesterday and went straight to xtrainer which was a big risk. No warm up for my hip flexor could be bad... and the first 8 min hurt like hell on my right thigh. But we got to 10 min and then he threw me on the bike for 10. We're increasing the xtrainer and bike in 5 min incriments.
My goals for this month were to lose 1Kg and do 20 push ups. Well, push ups is done. But the kilo? Well, I don't really know what's happening. I lost 1.5 at the begining of the month and, without changing ANYTHING (exercise or food or drink), I've put ON 1.5 above what I was beforehand! I don't get it!!!!!! So frustrating! So, back to the drawing board for me. I have 4 days to lose 2 kilo's...
BUT, here's some exciting news for those who have known me for a while and who know my plight... guess who is joining the gym? YUP! ME! I have decided I need to shake up my cardio to more than just my treadmill at home... and since I seem to be doing ok on xtrainer and bike, I'm goign to join the gym to use them!!!!! AH HUH! YOU READ RIGHT! I spoke to D yesterday and he said he thinks I'm ready (on all levels) but we agreed I will wait until I can manage 15 minutes on both the xtrainer and bike without recourse. My plan is I will do 15 min on treadmill, xtrainer, and bike then leave. So I'll only be there for 45 min each time and the frequency will largely depend on my roster. D is being protective and wants to give me a free trial pass before I join just to make sure I can cope and my first time will be when he's rostered to work the floor just in case I have any issues. So.... who's excited?!
Alright, I feel like a heffaleffalump so am going to go get moving!
Stay active girls! And remember - with great persistence comes great rewards!
