Hello everyone, we've got a public holiday here today so I've got the boys home for the day. It means I miss the gym today and I'm not happy about that. I've been feeling a bit slack since Friday. I haven't eaten very well over the weekend. I went to the gym yesterday but only for a brief workout because my parking was going to run out. I bought a pair of the nike freeruns and I was in a hurry with the boys and tried them on without socks so they were half a size too small. I took them back to the shop to exchange the and the girl totally wasted my time. She told me they didn't have the size up so I tried on other shoes but none of them felt right so I asked her to ring the other shops and ask if they have them and while she was doing that I found a size 8 on the shelf. I took it over to her and she took 15 minutes looking for its partner before asking her boss who found it in about 1 minute exactly where it was meant to beI walked out of there feeling bad for wasting her time trying on so many pairs of shoes until it occurred to me that if she wasn't so dopey that she missed the shoes in the first place I would have been in and out in minutes. I forgot my headphones too - oh my.... it is so much harder without any tunes.
I might try to find some time to do abs and chest at home this afternoon. It will probably be a bit of a struggle because I'm going through a bit of a SAHM crisis. Some days it just seems so depressing endlessly doing the same jobs over and over and DH just doesn't get it. If he tells me that I should be happy because women in the developing world would love to have my problems I might just throw a tea bag at him and if he asks if I think I'm better than all the other women who are SAHM and don't complain I might throw the teapot instead.
Usually I have something fun on the horizon to look forward to - a visit from my family or a holiday or something but at the moment the only thing on my horizon is cleaning up after people who can make a mess faster than I can clean.
Sorry for whinging but it just makes me feel so heavy and demotivated.
I have a pair of the fit-flops. They're like the work-out sneakers but flip-floppy instead and they work by having a flat sole with foam not a curved sole. I find that if I wear them I do feel it in my thighs but they also make my knees angry so I don't wear them often. They're a different shaped sole than the work-out sneakers so the sneakers might be easier on the knees. I'm waiting on your report too Sopdet before I fork out for a pair of the sneakers.
I read in a magazine that a chihuahua weighs about 5kg so I'm measuring my weightloss in angry little dogs. I need to lose at least one Chihuahua then I will revise my goals and decide if I need to lose a second one.

I just don't know why I did that to myself!!! I did 7.5km on the cross-trainer on Saturday, then 10km on Sunday. This morning I have been for a jog & then I did 5km on the cross-trainer when I got home. So I'm hoping that I am able to redeem myself on the scales before Thursday. I just had a small bowl of cereal with a banana for breakfast & a lemon tea & I'm already planning a really healthy lunch & I'm making cottage pie for dinner. So I think I have a healthy eating day lined up.

I walked out of there feeling bad for wasting her time trying on so many pairs of shoes until it occurred to me that if she wasn't so dopey that she missed the shoes in the first place I would have been in and out in minutes. Usually my fitness routine for skiing is skiing so it will be interesting to see how much difference starting the season a bit fitter makes.
). I think you & the scales will be much better friends this way. lol. Also, I have a real bee in my bonnet about eating after dinner. The way I figure it (& I know we all have our own opinions), is that food that is sitting in your belly is ADDITIONAL food to dinner & not long after you eat it, it's just sitting in your stomach doing sweet nothing. You have no chance of burning it off whilst you are sleeping & by the time you wake it's probably began being absorbed. I know it's probably not 100% correct, but I figure to myself, I'm not working my backside off to get this weight off, for extra food to get a quick ride to my thighs! pmsl. I 'try' not to eat anything after dinner. Sure there are times when you are out, have friends over, etc... But I really try to stick to it. I don't drink tea or coffee, juice or anything other than water after dinner either. Once you get used to it, it's really easy to stick to.
First time I skiied was Mt Buller, second time was Mt Hotham.
