Hi!! Another sufferer of the dreaded PCO. I have been battling this for the last 11 years. I only discovered I had it when trying for a bub. Over the next 6 years I was lucky enough to have 2DB's,(SOmeone was smiling on us that's for sure) but weight had exploded!!
The doc took a million blood tests and even though I didn't have diabetes, my pancreas was producing so much inslin it could go at any time. The increase in insulin made it easy to put weight on and really hard to take off. Scary.
I bit the bullet and went to Weight Watchers. In the 11 months I did the program I lost 32.4kgs. Went back to the doc who couldn't believe it. The benefits healthwise were great. My cycle became regular (YAY!!), and my insulin levels were that of a normal range. It was not easy, but wanting a third bub was my motivation. I fell pregnant in Oct 07 and sadly miscarried a few weeks later. We have been trying ever since and I must say that I am getting to the point where I don't believe it will happen again. Negative I know, but that is how I am feeling today.
I also wanted to say that I am not implying you have a weight problem, I was only wishing to share my story with you. I was told that a reduction in weight of only 5 kgs can make a big difference to PCO sufferers. I had a hell of a lot to loose BTW. Still going too!!
I wish you all the best for the future.![]()
