We emigrated here from England in Nov 2009 and I've only seen my parents in person once since then (last year) but I call mum every Sunday and Wednesday and we text a few times in between. I've always been close to my parents and even though we're now the other side of the world it doesn't seem that far as we talk so often.

My sister lives a few hours drive from our parents and I speak to them more than she does . There's nothing wrong with the relationship, she's just not family orientated.
