DD2 came the morning after house guests and DH went off to work. It had been an insane few weeks and i remember saying to myslef as i went to bed after every one had left the house and it was just DD1 and i. Oh the peace and quiet, this is bliss, i survived those massive weeks, now i can have my baby. Oops just a few hours later after NO warning my waters broke! She was almost 4weeks early. Im sure it was just that relief that all was calm again!


Also: i know that i thought DS would come early and DH took from 37-39weeks off, there was huge pressure to produce a child within that time seeing he had missed the last birth. We were all $hitty and it was a horrid two weeks BUT baby didnt budge until 10hrs after i had a huge meltdown and told DH he was just going to miss the birth. It was wednesady night and he was due to go away on friday. We both cried and cried and hugged and made up.....then DS was born the next morning when all the pressure was off!

So yes i guess that i totally believe. I have also read stories of WW2 women in london that were in labour and then a bomb would hit and they would stop their labour until later when it was safer!!!
