Hi all,
I am new to BB and am yet to post anything cause I really don't know where to post or how to use all your abbreviations, but I have been reading a lot of your posts and have been finding some useful info and some strength from all your stories.
My story is this- I was one of those women I now am very jealous of. Fell pregnant on my honeymoon after being told I wasn't ovulating regularly so was over the moon. At 7 weeks I was admitted to hospital and given a D&C as I was told I was miscarrying. Was sent home in a lot of pain and ended up with an ectopic pregnancy and losing my tube. Very frightning experience. Was extremely depressed at the reality of not only losing my baby but also my chances of falling pregnant again with ease. Also after this debarcle I was diagnosed with PCOS. So I spent all of last year on Metformin and Clomophine with no luck. It was decided IVF was our only option left.
I had my first cycle in NOV and had 11 eggs retrieved. 7 fertilised and one embryo was implanted. Apparently my eggs and my DH's sperm were of high quality, but unfortunately I received a BFN.
I have had a lot of trouble with starting a frozen cycle. I was told I could start Provera to bring on a period to start my new cycle but still at day 44 I had not got a period and my DR was saying my levels weren't right to start the Provera. I thought the idea of IVF and the drugs was to help you to achieve a pregnancy where you body won't naturally allow it- so I was extremely anxious and disappointed in my treatment at this stage. But I took matters into my own hands and went to see an acupuncturist and on day 44 he bought on my period.
So here I am at day 8 and on my 7th day of HRT. I am having a scan on the 30th to see how my lining is going and hopefully will have a transfer in the week following.
I am so anxious about this next implant. I was so sure as everyone is at some stage that I was pregnant last time. I don't know how much strength I have to receive another BFN.
Also this cycle they are going to grow the embryo to day 5. I am reading many different views about this but am thinking it is a positive. Also, I am only going to have 1 embryo implanted but am thinking to thaw 2 and grow both to day 5 and re-freeze the other if they both survive. I just could not deal with a cancelled cycle seeing as though my periods are so irregular.
I am sorry for the massive rant and the non-use of abbreviations to ease reading but now my story is out my next posts will be shorter-I promise!!!
Any info or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks and all the bst to everyone
