Hi Girls, I am back in this thread. Not a good day for me I am afraid. Just found out it is a for us this cycle.

I am devastated but trying to hold it together as unfortunately I am at work.

So it is time to grief and then focus on the next step. Fortunately as we have a number of frosties, we can get started on a FET cycle straight away. So just need to wait for AF to show up properly and get in touch with the nurses. After much reading I am going to add in acupuncture this cycle. If anyone knows of a very good IVF acupuncturist in central Melbourne or the South Yarra/Toorak areas, please PM me the details.

    Speak to you all soon.

Well I ended up in hospital for a couple of nights after my last post.
I had horrible pain on Sunday and was vomiting all day, at midnight we went off to SJOG Murdoch ED. They had no idea what IVF was let alone OHSS which was fun. Also discovered that I have an allergy to morphine which was interesting to say the least.

Was transferred to Bethesda hospital Monday morning where my FS is based. Managed to get vomiting under control yesterday and they have let me go home today under strict instructions to drink heaps and a high protein diet. If I start feeling nauseus at any point, I will be readmitted to hospital.

My weigh in before the EPU was 98.5kg, I checked into Murdoch at 102kg, Bethesda at 104kg and today was weighed at 111kg! My waist has increased from 110cm to 132cm round. My DR is still concerned about it all but thinks that things should start improving now. I'm just so exhausted by it all!

Oh Janie.. I felt so confident. So sorry to hear that. Make sure you let yourself grieve with DH tonight and get it all out of your system so that you are ready and strong to start the FET. At least you have that to fall back on so stay positive hun

BecD that dreaded OHSS. I hope it goes away and stays away soon. What a horrible experience. The whole time i was on the meds and after EPU i kept freaking out that i too would end up with a bad case of OHSS due to my PCOS. Its so scary Wishing you all the best and really hope you get better soon. Take care.

    Hi Everyone.
I'm Jo, I've been reading the posts for a while now and finally have the courage to post (I hope I do it right!) Seeing as I feel like I know so much about you all (and you are all very inspirational) I thought I'd tell you a bit about me.

My DH and I have been TTC since we were married in Nov 06. Me PCOS DH Low sperm count.

My FS is great and he has put us straight on IVF/ICSI after 3 x failed Clomid cycles ( I did ovulate but no pregnancy).

This is my first down regulation cycle and I am on day 14 of Gonal F injections 150mg with Synarel and feeling very bloated and sore. I've had four scans and we really thought this mornings would be the last one but it seems the follicles are not quite cooked yet. Here are the sizes from this mornings scan:
    Right 30F: 1 x 19mm, 1 x 18mm, 2 x 16 mm, 3 x 14mm
    Left 30F: 2 x 16mm, 2 x 14mm
Heaps more that are at 12 on both sides and the rest lagging behind.

As this is my first cycle, can any of you girls let me know what your thoughts are on these numbers? My nurse said that they would be looking for a dozen good ones and I'm scared that I don't have enough. I'm fairly new to all this and I thought that I needed more follicles at more than 20mm but I'm confused...

Anyway, we were told that we would probably trigger tonight for EPU 13/6 however I am waiting on a call from the nurse for further instructions. From what she said the morning, depending on the BT results, I will probably be on the Gonal F for a couple more days.

I would like to join this thread and share my journey with you if that's OK with you guys?

I will post again later this afternoon when I hear from my nurse. I just want to hurry uo and get this show on the road but I guess I really need to learn the art of patience! I might be here for a while.

Welcome TigerGal. Im no IVF expert but im not sure about the "wanting" a dozen good ones. It really depends on how your follies grow. Once they have reached the right size then they have to be taken out.

Just got a call from nurses and they told me that im not pregnant but there is a small amount of preg hormone hanging around. She said it could be left over from the drugs or it could have been a very early miscarriage. They want to see me again on Monday to make sure its all gone before they consider starting any further treatment.

Now i wish i didnt know. Its playing on my mind. How can i know if i did have an very early miscarriage or not? Was it something i did that caused it? Did i stress myself out over something or push my body too hard? Im sooo confused

What a day for everyone. Sending to everyone.

BecD - Have you had OHSS before? I had a mild case during my last cycle and I fully understand the fear. The nurses kept telling me to drink but I put on 8kgs & felt it was just making it worse. I didn't take measurements but I think I will next time. I'm definately trying to increase my daily drinking so it's natural ready for the next.
    My thoughts are with you.

Janie - So sorry to hear the news. Hopefully AF comes quickly for you.

Paula - you can't blame yourself for any of this. I know, easier said than done. I asked my GP the question about confirming miscarriage after a positive BT reading of "2" last cycle (without IVF). He told me there wasn't but it would put my mind at ease if it could.

TigerGal - Welcome!! I have PCOS & DH has low count. last cycle they collected 8 eggs & were able to fertilize 6. None made it to blastocyst but they said that can happen... Good luck this week!!

Hi to everyone else. thank all the powers that be for a short work week!

Paula (((HUGS))) - You must be pretty mixed up right now, hope you are doing okay xxx

Welcome tigergal - You have a better follicle count than I did before my EPU so you could be at risk of hyperstimulation, you never really know with things. What were your instructions from the nurse?

izzylou - I haven't had OHSS before but its always been a high risk which is why I have done IVM in the past instead.

I'm really struggling to breathe properly tonight, I'm having to stay completely upright, will probably have to sleep like that as well so I'm not out of breath all the time. Fingers crossed I don't put on any more fluid tomorrow, I really don't want to have my stomach drained.

BecD - oh you poor darl. Sounds like you are doing it really tough. Hoping you are getting the best medical care and that things start improving very soon

Paula - don't beat yourself up. Even if you have had early m/c, I can assure you that nothing you did or didn't do would have caused it. I know it is still hard not to wonder "what if". Darn bodies are so confusing!!

JBM - hope your boys have stopped vomiting!

Angel - oh the endless waiting! waiting fo appts, waiting for AF, waiting for cycles to be underway, TWW and on and on. Hoping you actually don't need your FS appt - maybe you will get a natural miracle before then?!

Smithy - So, so sorry that AF reared her ugly head. Just hate that witch! Have you had a BT yet?

Tigger - yay at collecting drugs. Means the wait is nearly ove and at least you will have a new cycle to look forward to

Janie - so sorry you have to be back here. Wish we could clear this thread right out. I don't know any acupuncturists in inner melb but I see an excellent one in Balwyn if you are interested? She specialises in womens health, IVF etc

Jo - welcome to the thread although I am sorry you have to be here. Your follie numbers sound pretty good to me. Hope you got some good news from your nurse

Me - I am officially in the TWW after IUI done on Mon. Had my day 4 BT and hormone levels all good.
Just praying the progynova is doing the trick on my lining. Would hate to waste soem good embies just cause of the lining. Another 12 days to go for BT - is going to drag i am sure!

Janie71.... So sorry to hear your BFN.... But happy for you that you can start FET cycle. I have a fantastic Accupunturist.... however she s in Brisbane.... hope you find a good one in Melbourne.

BecD ...... OMG..... if only we could loose that as quickly as it is put on.... I m struggling to loose what I have put on through my IVF cycle and my pregnancy with my twins, mines not fluid ...... Wishing you a speedy recovery so you can move onto the transfer.

TigerGal.... I cant help you with your sizes.... I have done a IVF ICSI cycle however I cant help you with egg sizes.... wasnt exactly well informed by our FS.... anyway..learnt more on this site after I lost my angels..... I wish you all the best with your trigger and PU and ET.

Paula.... No point going down that path Paula..... the "what if path" is a long path that leads nowhere. The only thing you get from traveling that path is a broken spirit. Take a couple of days to chill for a bit and then just keep going. Dont hold onto it... just think about what your next step is. I read once where someones HGC levels were still high, weeks after their miscarriage that they thought they were pregnant again. AF eventually arrived and they greived for the second baby they had lost but in reality it was the left over HCG from the first one. I think that is why most FS want your levels to settle before trying again..... Huge hugs for you

tiggerlinda... will have to read up on your blog.

izzylou... Still hanging out for AF for you... funny how we want her SOMETIMES

Deffinately a huge week for everyone.... lets hope for a restful weekend.

AFM... I went to my accupunturist today to get more herbs, mine and DH s . She was able to move some appointments around, I m due for "O" on monday so its pinning day for me... ohhh and of course a bit of , mind you last night I think DH got his dates mixed up.... ... oh well.. I m not complaining

Meredith..... It took me so long to post that I missed your post...... Love to find out more about your IUI because that s what we have decided to try.... DH s swimmers like to backstroke and doggy paddle.... so we figured a bit of assistance ... showing them where to go would be the go..... I hope your 2ww flies past

    Hi Girls,

You are all so wonderful, thanks for the answers to questions and welcome and everything, it's so nice to log on and find that there are others sharing the journey! It makes me feel normal, it's not something I have talked to many friends or colleagues about.

My nurse called yesterday afternoon and said one more Gonal F shot and Synarel spray which I did last night! YAYA

Trigger will be tonight (waiting for nurse instructions) as to what time. And EPU is Saturday morning, not sure what time yet.

BEC_DI am really scared about OHSS as you mentioned. I asked the nurse about it and she said they think they will catch me before then.... I hope so as I really want to do a fresh transfer and will be dev if I can't. I hope you get better soon, sounds like you are doing it really tough you poor bugger

I;m not having any more scans though so I don't know what my follie sizes will be at PU.

Thanks again for all the lovely welcomes

to everyone, looking forward to some good news from each of you in the near future xoxo
