    Hi everyone,
Well I got my period yesterday... blood test today to confirm what I already knew... however I know need to have a repeat blood test in a few days because my hormone levels are elevated (but not enough to be pregnant). The nurse asked if I had any bleeding and I told her that it had come full on yesterday - really heavy. She then asked if I'd had a bit of cramping and I explained that I had really bad cramping from 2am Tuesday morning and the bleeding started around 11am. She then asked if I had any nausea (which I haven't). Anyway I asked if the higher hormone levels could be due to the hormones I have been on but she said no... so I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on this (my clinic never like answering questions). Someone suggested that maybe I had an early miscarriage and thats why the levels were elevated?

I'm still trying to decide whether I can find the courage and the finances to try another cycle (I only ended up with one embryo from my first cycle - which was transfered at day 2... so will need to start from scratch again).

I don't know how you women keep so strong to keep trying again and again... I've only had one cycle and I'm already so over it. Every cell in my body is screaming out "NO" it doesn't want to try again... but in my heart I'm still not ready to give up the dream.

Dreamrise, if she said it couldn't be caused by the meds then an early m/c sounds most likely. I'm sorry to hear AF is there. I know the difficulty of having to start from scratch each time. We've only had something to freeze twice out of 5 stim cycles.

    Hi Juniper,
I'm sorry to hear you have had as bad luck as me with not having embies to freeze. Has your FS given you any suggestions as to why this might be the case? Why you haven't had more embies?

Also wondering if anyone can make suggestions of what tests etc I should be asking for? I didn't have any tests (apart from blood tests for STD's, rubella, hormone levels etc). I assumed that all the internal ultrasounds I have had to monitor ovulation would have identified if I had cysts or other problems but I am now wondering if I should be having other tests done? If I do try again it will be my last time so I want to ensure the best possible outcome.

I was also wondering about testing during the cycle. On this cycle I only had my down reg scan (which showed my hormones were playing up as I had a lining and my follicles were 9's - I was told if any had been 10's they would have cancelled it) then I started on Gonal-F 225 but had no tests or scans to see how my body was responding to that until the scan before egg pickup (it seems other clinics do a check a week in to make sure the dosage is right). I'm also wondering if I should be pushing for a higher dose?

I was on crinone during my 2ww but didn't have any tests during this time either but it seems some clinics do a test half way through this time too see if the progesterone support should be increased.

Would love any advice about what I should be asking for when I next meet with my FS

    Thanks
    Lori

    thanks for the feed back

Thanks girls, i think i am just worrying a lot. Hard not too. Also the reason for the huge dose of puregon coming up is I told IVF I could not afford to keep coming back.. So I think they are giving me the whole shabang straight up... As for the bleeding on the pill, the FN does not seem concerned too much... Started Lucrin last night, and will have a blood test on the 3rd of June. Fingers crossed for all.

Dreamrise, I had blood tests for clotting disorders done after my 3rd IVF failed. This time (new doctor) I also had my progesterone level tested 7 days after EPU for the first time. My new Dr also did a lap before this IVF because I had classic symptoms of endometriosis which my previous doctor never wanted to investigate.

    Hi all,

Just a quick one. Thanks for all the well wishes. Got through today ok, although only 7 eggs. I'm not sure why, but I was thinking I would get a lot more... At least 7 is my lucky number, and when I came out, they put in recovery room 7. Superstitious? Totally... anything to get me through the next 2 1/2 weeks!! Now just holding out on the scientists call tomorrow to see how many fertilised. I feel like I am always waiting.
Also, just had my first dose of crinone cream. Anyone else had the feeling they are doing it wrong? I'm almost tempted to weigh the thing before and after to make sure it is actually coming out. Halfway through I had a terrible feeling that it was all going to dribble out (TMI... sorry) and sat down in a hurry. Now I'm just laughing at myself.

Anyway, going to bed to rest my bloated belly...

Oh and Juniper... I'm not entirely sure what your post meant (still getting around the jargon) but it seems from the reactions that a big congratulations is in order! Hope you keep getting positive news!!

    Hi Ladies,

Just lurking... good luck with all your cycles everyone!

LisaB - so nice to see a familiar name! How are you going? Sorry to hear that the nurses are stuffing you around and being inattentive! Don't they realise how important this is to us?!

Just a quick update on my journey so far... We took a break for Mar & Apr, then started IVF in May. Ovaries reacted well, egg collection was on 14 May they managed to collect 18 eggs! Very sore and bloated for a week afterwards but it's slowly subsiding. Out of the 18, 13 fertilised (half IVF and half ICSI), and 12 started subdividing. Ended up with 10 good blastocysts. Transfer of the strongest hatching blast was on 19 May, and they froze the other 9. So I'm now CD26 and 14DPO so lots of thumb twiddling on the 2WW! BT is Monday 31 May so am crossing everything that it has worked.

Keep smiling everyone... What embryo wouldn't want to snuggle up in your nice cosy uterus!

    Thanks for your welcomes!

Hi everyone thank you for your welcomes to this thread, i still have a bit of catching up to do so sorry if i lose track of you at times
How did you go today MiniMe? I know what you mean about the tww, would be nice to just sleep through it and wake up two weeks later with a positive!!

Loops, good luck with the tractor. its so stressful ivf as it is without having the huge expense aswell. we have had to put off cycling for a while because of financial issues, its just not fair.

Mindhugs, so so sorry to hear about your m/c, it brought back sad, traumatic memories of my m/c last year. I lost my bub at 9 weeks, its just so heartbreaking when you do see a heartbeat then next scan its gone, you cant help but wonder what happened in between and try to see if you did anything that could have caused it, of course there is nothing but i did carry a lot of guilt around for a long time. I am only now finally beginning to move on and feel positive for our next cycle. We just have to keep praying that next time will be the time that our precious earth angel will stay with us. big hugs to you xx

Hopefully we start cycle in about a week, back to the jabbin & stabbin ohhh cant wait!!!

    Have a great w/end everyone!
