Hi Diamond!

We seem to be having daily updates this week, don't we? Did you see this article today:

Freezing Eggs | Fertility | IVF | Essential Baby Conception Australia

I feel stupified to think that career women are so ignorant as to believe they should put off pregnancy to further their careers. What I have learned is that the older you get, the less you can control your fertility. Women spend most of their lives avoiding pregnancy, and they commonly believe once they decide to embrace it, it will just happen.

In my case, I never expected male infertility to thwart my intentions. I started looking for my husband when I was 31. I found him when I was just about to turn 37. Now we are 40. We only conceded this year that he is sterile. We lost so much time in the name of preserving his delicate male ego, my eggs are now ragged with age, and we have only a 5% chance of attaining a pregnancy with the help of a donor.

I do think the media is convinced women CHOOSE to put off starting a family. In my case, I dated over 250 men to find one good one. There simply aren't enough good men to meet the needs of all the good women who want to procreate. Instead of harping on about women putting off motherhood, maybe the media should start a concerted campaign to train men how to be good marriage prospects and good father potential?
