I haven't seen her around for a while I hope everything is okay. mumof5 I love the name. When you see her you will know exactly which middle name to call her.

It feels good being able to chat to other women facing the same predicament, when I mention the fact that I would like more children to friends they think I am mad.

Mum05 do you mind me asking where you had ivf done, that seems very cheap to me. I wouldn't even know how to go about it all, it is all very new to me as I had never really given it much thought. Always thought ivf was for those that were truely infertile not because of having ones tubes tied, how naive am I.
I love the name by the way!!!

Onemore I can imagine how stressful TTC would be after either procedure and don't know that I would cope very well with knowing we were really trying. When we tried inbetween 3 and 4 I was an emotional wreck every month. My mind already plays tricks on me that is how desperately I want this.

I will have a really good talk with DH and see what he thinks, he is more than happy to support any decision I make which I am so thankful for.

Not long for you to go Em. I would come over but I have a cold at the moment and I do not want to pass it on to anyone.

Tami, she got it done at Westmead Hospital and they are pretty cheap compared to others.

I will get back on here when I am feeling better which hopefully wont be too long.

Tami...Yep i had it done at Westmead IVF in Sydney, this is there website WestMead Fertility Centre They are a non profit clinic so this is why they are cheaper and medicare also send them a cheque for just over $2000 from memory. All you need to do is call them and they will point you in the right direaction and send out an information pack. It is strange doing IVF when you have fallen pregnant the normal way and then all of a sudden you are one of those people that you hear stories about that cant have kids. Even tho you already have 4 children the want for another one really hurts when it cant or wont happen. I guess it really makes us understand how those people that cant have a baby really feel cause we are in the same boat even tho we have kids it just the same as them. This is something i wanted so bad so i just jump in feet first cause i wasnt going to wait at what ever cost. I didnt really have the money to be spending on having another baby but if we want something bad enough we always find the money dont we. Each week leading up to my appt i put away $200 so by the time i was finished see the fertility specialist which you have to do and i finished a course of the pill which you also have to do i had saved up all the money and the rest is history.

Crazymum.. best you have you phone on you on Thursday so i can message you so you can let the girls know all the details

    Morning Ladies,
What a huge relief it is to finally be able to chat to like minded individuals. Alot of people just don't understand how strong the desire to have another can be and you always hear comments such as 'you already have four what do you want another one for?' and ' just be happy with what you have got'. My heart goes out to those couples who don't have any children and are on the ivf path.
I never in my widest dreams thought that ivf would be a reality for me but you have all given me a bit of hope, so thank you.
I will be looking into it and will let you know how we get on and what we decide.
    Have a lovely day.

I contacted IVF Sunshine coast yesterday and have requested a brochure. They offer a free consultation which is great news. I have not been able to stop thinking about it, isn't it funny how once you know there is a way you start to fantasise well that is what I am doing. To think that something I have longed for may eventuate is a very exciting prospect.

I just wanted to ask if there is ever a time when IVF is not a possibility? The reason I ask is that I had pregnancy induced hypertension that required taking meds in my pregnancies, I am hoping with regular monitoring that it will be okay and I will have as good outcomes as with previous pregnancies. I also know of women that had the same condition with some pregnancies but not others.

Oh so many questions, I will be sure to write them all down and take them with me for my first consult.

HI Everyone sorry I have not been in for a while.
Things at home were not good and I just didnt feel like typing.
I came on as I knew that mumof5 little girl was due yesterday, I'm so excited for her and cant wait to see the pictures.
I am not having Ivf untill july as I have a few tests to get out of the way first (ultrasound, pap smear Etc as My period has gone for 3 weeks and although it has stopped now I'm getting a few cramps here and there so I need to have these tests first before starting ivf.
(I am well overdue for a pap test).
hopefully if all goes well I will start my ivf in june.
better run guys kids need to go to school but I'll check back in saturday, hope you are all well.....
    CONGRATULATIONS MUMOF5........
