Mel, big :hugs: for your little family, poor baby. I guess if she has the op may/june the consolation is that it is cooler weather and she will probably be more comfy in the cast. and maybe it will be less frustrating to her now then in 6 or so months time being stuck in a cast instead of running around. Either way poor little baby. Best wishes to you all.

Hi. Sorry to crash this forum but I have just joined this great site and recently moved to the Gold Coast. Just a quick message to FunMummy (Mel). Sorry to hear about your littlie. My daughter had the same thing diagnosed at 6 months (left hip fully dislocated and spica cast for 3 mths + 9mths in brace) so just wanted to say if you wanted to talk to someone about it, I'd be more than happy to give you my email address. I've recently just moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney. My daughter is 2yrs old now and is doing great; she learnt to crawl in the plaster and learnt to walk in the brace!!! No stopping her. Unbelieveable what our little vegemites can do. She still requires check-ups though. It's extremely frightening and so upsetting when you get told there is something wrong. All the very best and you will come out the other end quicker than you know it, and a stronger person. Cheers and sorry for the crash to your forum ladies.

    Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Annie - I'm situated south at Elanora. Where abouts in Sydney were you? We were at Epping. Thanks for your contact details, will give you a tinkle sometime.

Funmummy - no worries. It's good that your positive. We quickly realised after reading all the info (as you do), that it is a fixable condition and once we were over the initial shock of it, we were pretty cool about it. And really, the hardest thing was dealing with peoples stares when your out. Although it didn't help with the FLURO PINK cast she got given (ask for white or purple)....gez, they could've warned us on that one Anyway, my MSN contact is apsydoz@hotmail.com.

Enjoy ANZAC day everyone. I'm off to a hideway in Springbrook for our 6th wedding anniversary...2yr old sprog with snotty nose not included

    Cheers
    Amy
