Baby in the room at night with you?

I used the bassinette for the first couple of weeks. It was easier to put them in and wheel it around where you wanted them. I actually never purchased a bassinette, just borrowed them from friends. They were very handy in those few weeks.
I used to have it beside the bed at night to save having to go to the other end of the house (that's where our kids bedrooms are). If they were a little unsettled I could reach the bassinette from my bed without having to get out and it give it a little rock/shake to help settle them if needed.
After a week or two I would then use the Cot during the day to get them used to the Cot and Bassinette at night beside the bed until they were older and settled enough to go into the Cot permanently at night.
There are alot of people who say the baby in the room disturbs your DP or DH, mine used to wake up in morning and ask me how my night was

Sorry if this is OT - but you just reminded me of the time DH turned me in the morning saying "Wow Moo slept well!" I nearly hit him as I'd been up all night
