Evening primrose oil & Rasberry Leaf

    Hi girls,

There was a post on this a little while back and I can't remember when to start taking them.

EPO do you take it orally & Insert it? At how many weeks? What doseage?

I bought RL tablets, when do I start taking these and what dose for it to be effective?

Pls feel free to share your experiences with EPO and RL.

    Thanks

I seem to remember Alan saying to start RLT at 28 weeks. Start at 1 cup a day and slowly increase to 5 or 6. I'm aiming to be at 5 or 6 by week 35 (not sure if that's right)
I think Alan said EPO should start at 36 weeks. Take orally as directed but also insert 2-4 each night high up near the cervix.

I hope I have remembered that right, please correct me if I'm mistaken.

Do you happen to know the dosage for RL tablets?
I might try & hunt down the old post

I used the RL tea, started drinking it at 33 weeks I *think*, certainly wasn't earlier. About 5 cups a day, it is actually very tasty.

Never did the EPO though sorry!

I inserted the EPO - 2 capsules - from 36 weeks, at the same time as doing the perineal massage.

I took RLT for the first few weeks (tea) - I just replaced my normal tea with RLT so it was probably about 4-5 cups a day. Oh this was about from 35/36 weeks.

Then I got other homeopathic stuff and took that instead, but it did contain RLT anyway.

Alan said in a thread somewhere recently to start with 2 cups of RLT and gradually increase to 6, I think.

lol... I am starting RLT from 34 weeks as recommended by my MW and may use the capsules anyways cause not sure if I will like the tea and the tablets have higher concentrations...

lol Yep. It dissolves with your CM as far as I am aware.
    It helps prepare the cervix.

Glenny C is correct. I usually suggest starting RLT at about 28 weeks 1 or 2 cups a day and increase to 5 – 6 cups a day. EPO start at about 36 weeks. Orally as directed and insert 2 – 4 high into the vagina at night. Put a pad on as it can get a bit messy in the morning. You can if you wish stab the EPO with a pin but there is no need to as they dissolve in the vagina. Another option is to massage your cervix (if you can reach) with EPO oil.

    Hi ALan,
The raspberry leaf I have is not tea, it's a tablet from the health food shop, 'Herbs of Gold' the only one i've been able to find as I know I wouldn't drink the tea
It says each tab contains 2g raspberry leaf and to take 2 a day so would be only 4g of raspberry leaf per day, it doesn't sound like much to me just wondering if you know the dosage per day?
    Thanks

I am up to cup 4 of RLT for the day. As long as Alan stops making me snort it out with his hilarious silly jokes.

Discount Drug Store had cheap EPO when I was there on Friday.

I think it softens and ripens the cervix

    Babyluv

Start with 2 a day for the first 2 weeks then increase to 3 a day for 2 weeks then increase to 4 a day.

Isadora, I started taking RLT, just one cup a day at 28 weeks. I'm up to about 3 cups a day now. I guess tea or tablet is just personal preference. I can't do hot tea in this weather but I make up a jug each night and keep it in the fridge, I drink it cold so it's not too hard to get a few cups in a day. But it might be easier to take tabs???

    Hi Isadora

Yes you can start RLT now. I agree with Glenny, the main difference between tea and tablets is which you prefer.
